  1. HEY....she got a convertible Camaro. She's happy.
  2. I honestly can't answer any of your questions. Haven't been on a ride with my wife since installing it. I doubt that it provides any additional room. I tried to find the pdf file of my order but apparently deleted it so can't tell you the exact colors I ordered. I called Corbin and told them to make it exactly like the one that they made for Bucfan who as the first to order one as far as I know. You can call them and have them look up my order to get all the details. My wife has only sat on the bike since it was installed and said that it felt great. Sorry, I know that's not much to go on.
  3. Regardless of what the manual states, I will certainly use it if I ever get into one of those situations where I mess up and part on a downward slope. Most of us learned years ago to avoid those situations though. I assume, like me, that most of you have learned to back into those type of parking spots.
  4. Still don't have enough miles on mine to give a definitive answer but from the day I bought it and rode it home from Buffalo, NY, I have gotten 40 MPG or better. Of course that it riding it gently as I've still not put enough miles on it to get out of the break in period.
  5. One feature that I had never had on a motorcycle was the reverse. I always thought it would come in handy at times. Though we learn to avoid it, most of us have pulled straight into a parking spot at one time or another that was on a downward slope and made it difficult to back out. So I was somewhat excited to buy a bike with reverse. Though I still haven't put many miles on my SVTC, I think I have only used the reverse one time and that was just to try it out. I just find it much faster to push the bike back like I always have. Also, the manual states that the reverse/parking assist is only designed to be used on level ground which totally defeats the scenario that I outlined above. So do you use the reverse? If so, do you use it on a slope to get out of a downward parking spot as I outlined above?
  6. Service manuals are available in the Tech Libraries. Don'r know if I have the owners manual or not, I'll have two look and if I have it, will upload it tomorrow.
  7. Have any of you received the Guardian Bells that I mailed out? If you haven't received yours, you should very soon.
  8. Eileen ordered our food for Maintenance Day so we are set to go. Still plenty of work to do around here to get things ready but we are well on the way. Hope to see many of you in Oberoin on the 15th.
  9. I can't offer any advise on it one way or the other. Never seen one in person. I went with the Utopia. They have always made a great produce. Very happy with it. http://www.utpr.com
  10. I agree. Belt tension is the first thing I would check. When I bought the Slingshot a while back, I had terrible "gear" noise. I found that the belt was so overtightened that I'm surprised it hadn't caused some major issues. Loosened it to spec and eliminated about 90% of that paricular noise.
  11. They are listed here: Price at MD is 12.00 because there would be no shipping cost. https://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?17406-VentureRider-Guardian-Bells
  12. Finally found the bells. Sorry, I have just been buried at work and hadn't had time to really look for them. So they are available if you haven't found one.
  13. I agree. Though the pods can work ok, it requires much more work that just changing the air filters. You will have to experiment with the jetting in the carbs to ever get it to run ok.
  14. All good suggestions but don't overthink it just yet. It is not at all uncommon on the RSV to get some a noise with the front brakes. Some brands of pads are worse than others. A lot of people have removed the pads and just slightly chamfered the leading edge of the pads and that successfully eliminated the noise.
  15. Glad to hear that you got it worked out. Disappointing to have such an issue with a new bike.

  17. See this thread for one solution. https://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?141060-Arm-rests
  18. It is the original seat, only changed the backrest. It's not an absolutely perfect match but close enough not to be noticeable. I love it. There is no specific part number, if you like it, you can just tell them to make it just like mine. That's what I did, I called and asked them to look up the one made for Bucfan and make mine the same.
  19. What is the squelch set on? Lower numbers give you the best reception. I've always run mine pretty high as I just want to talk to other bikes in a group and not pick up all the noise from elsewhere.
  20. I have the kit but haven't installed it yet. I guess all I can recommend at this time is to make sure you didn't pinch a wire somewhere and then unplug it one connection at a time until you isolate the issue.
  21. I went with the Corbin passenger backrest. Like it a lot. Had their backrests on my last two RSVs also. My wife just likes a place to rest her elbows and it is great for that. Actually it was Bucfan who had them first and after seeing pictures of his, I went the same route.
  22. One of my good friends in High School was always on a new Bridgestone because his dad was a Bridgestone dealer. He was the only person I knew that actually had one. Not sure how much business he could have been doing. It was a sideline for him anyway as his business was primarily lawn equipment.
  23. Not sure what you are looking for. I assumed the handlebar switches when I read your post but others seem to think you meant the gas cap surround. Please clarify. That being said, I don't remember seeing any covers for the handlebar switches. The Midnights and S models came with chromed housings though. You may have to resort to finding some at a salvage yard if that is what you want.
  24. I'm only assuming that it's in the same location at the Vanture. Here are a couple of pictures that might help.
  25. I found the old thread. Read all the way through out and you'll see what he found. https://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?74896-Buckeye-HO-upgraded-stator
