  1. sorry to hear of all of your health issues Jeff, I hope you get through this quickly and as safely as possible. My thoughts are with you. Brian
  2. Here is a vid from the Drift cam mounted on my left highway peg as I travelled along the Quappelle Valley lakes about an hour northeast of Regina SK last weekend. It was about 20c (70f) and a gorgeous day! FYI-Most of the time you can click on the gear icon in the bottom right of the vid and get the HD quality and sometimes you can select playback speed to be faster, as this is a 30 minute vid that I haven't edited yet, so selecting 2x speed might be worth it... 3. THanks Jack! Ill order that right now so ive got all winter to think about it...
  4. Jack, this universal fits the RSV? or is it the wrong URL? Amazon says it doesn't fit the rsv when you do a look up. thanks, Brian
  5. Ive seen 2 memebers from here hydrolock and ruin engines Brian
  6. I would be a bit worried about the check valve that the stock ones have to stop the cylinders from filling with fuel if the needle valve leaks a bit. I hydrolock can be a nasty thing.... Brian
  7. another thumbs up for the vro.org membership, going to the Michellin Commander2's on the front and rear. a credit card to put gas in the tank.... Brian
  8. I was assuming, (and Ive been told lots of times I shouldn't do that) that he meant the Venturerider Intl Rally. Brian
  9. I would love to go, but short of winning a lottery, I just cant fit it in this coming year. I am gonna be around Western US and Canada this coming season. Brian
  10. I felt the same way when I first got my 03 rsv, and after removing the old Bridgestone tires and putting on a set of Michelin Commander2s the bike felt like a new bike. Michellin doesn't come in the OEM width for the front so I went to the 130 width to make the bike feel much easier to handle at low speeds. I run the tires near the max most of the time and keep my forks even and fairly high as well. I do vary the back shock based on whether I have a passenger or not, and Ive noticed if I don't put the back shock close to max the front tire sometimes gets a bit skittish and feels loose at highway speeds. Brian
  11. I just took the cracked one into Napa and they matched it up from the shelf stock. Brian
  12. that sux, I hope things straighten out for you real quickly.. thoughts are with ya. Brian
  13. SOooooooo, what hotel did you say they were staying at? hmmm????? We can make some phone calls........... Brian
  14. I am still in a test and they are using me as a guineau pig, but hey what the heck I get some cash out of the insurance companies for a change. And yes it does track sudden stops and starts and even hard cornering, ive found it a good tool to be able to needle the insurance company with their opinions of what too much acceleration and cornering is. They don't appear to have any biking ppl on staff which is why about a hundred of us in the province are on this trial (supposedly the first time its ever been tried on motorcycles) NO need to worry about it becoming commonplace too quickly there are some huge bugs, at one point it had me going 100kmh in front of the police station in town, a street I don't recall ever having been on for a couple of years. Another time it had me as an extreme overspeed thru the south end of the province but the highways dept had the speed limit mapped wrong so I shouldn't have gotten the flags on the mapping.) If it ever becomes available mainstream where it affects my rates I will be out of it pronto!, its too invasive for my tastes. If anyone wants too have a look at my webpages for the device send a msg and ill send you the info to login.
  15. My insurance company put a tracking device on mine to supposedly give me a discount insurance rate if I am what they consider a good rider. It tracks where ive gone and where the bike is, ....but I got the device so I can pull up a webpage that lets me know where the bike is at all times. Its free and it works ok for what I want. ( the first 2 years of this trial the company has actually paid me to have it installed!) Brian
  16. Actually pretty darn fine for 9 or 10 months of the year..... I don't always wanna talk about the rest though....
  17. Ive always liked the looks of the turned down exhaust on bikes and my 85 VR. Ive noticed some pics here with the turned down exhaust on the RSV. Who makes those and are they still available? Or does a member have a set to sell? Brian
  18. Here is the one I bought, It came with all of the spacers, nuts bolts and the exact directions on how to hook it up on my Venture. It was easy, I did the install at PIP in about 10 minutes with a screwdriver and pliers. It really lights up the back now!!! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Yamaha-Royal-Star-Venture-LED-Brake-Running-Light-Bar-/231272274949?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35d8e6dc05#ht_1211wt_925
  19. tons of jobs up here just at the north side of the Bakken oil field, OIl related jobs, trucking mechanic, also a lot of mining and related jobs in that too. Unemployment here is under 3%. here is some info http://thinksask.ca/work1 Over the last few years the provincial govt has set up job fairs in Ireland, Britain and other places to bring people in to work as semi driver, nurses etc. Brian
  20. the tick, tick tick is normal when you turn on the bike, its the pump filling the carb bowls. once the bowls fill it stops. if the bowls are still full it will not run.. but I don't know of any one stating fuel pressure in here, but I am sure someone more knowledgeable than I will stop in shortly to help out. Brian
  21. how about gas coupons, lodgings paid for, and spending money to make a free vacation package for someone for the 2016 Intl Rally wherever it is? Brian
  22. same issue with IE , I just click next, next next, on the pics until I get back to the beginning pic and the 2nd time thru the pics show up fine. Brian

  24. I am so happy that it worked for you, I apologize for not stating that different versions of Firefox are slightly different. For me, this is the quickest fix, after removing any malware. Absolutely no offence taken, I am glad you posted so it may help someone else. Ride on! Enjoy Brian BTW there is a similar reset in Internet Explorer but I cant remember the details anyomore...but if you poke around under the tools/internet options/Advanced you should find the reset somewhere there.
  25. My oil level light comes on once in a while under a really hard wide open throttle run.. I thought it wa normal as my 85 did the same thing.. brian
