  1. On the first gens you will need to have an adapter pipe made from the muffler to the collector. In the past most members have gone to their local muffler shop and had them made. Maybe having them made up and then get them chomed would be kinda cool....??
  2. OK...here goes. Instead of 1stGen, why not '1983-1993 Venture', drop the Royale, drop the 1200, and unless I'm color blind the 83's were not tan or blond, they were gold and still are. I haven't ever seen a tan or blond Venture.... I'll go back to my corner now....
  3. Would if I could but I can't....
  4. yes.....
  5. California has a helmet law. The last time I rode in Colorado I saw a lot of riders without helmets. So I assume they do not. I wore mine anyway....
  6. Ahhh... Dang!!!
  7. At the begining of last summer the AC went on the Suburban, and I was quoted $1300 to repair it. I said I'd think about it. Went on eBay and bought a brand new compressor and dryer for $350 bucks out of Texas. Took it to my local Midas shop and they R&R'd, and charged the system for $260. Total....$610. Less than half.
  8. Nothing surprises me with the weather lately, or historically. My minor was climatology in college. Yeah, I'm just a frustrated weather man.... However, I think it's safe to say no one has to worry about being snowed on while sitting in front of their computor, and checking out Death Valley on Youtube..... I think they did Venture West II with a run to DV?? Which reminds me. Who has the Bakersfield dirt from VW I??
  9. Welcome to Death Valley Vicariously.... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGo_nBBEyb8]PART[/ame] 1 2 Nicely done Youtube...
  10. Here's one for Freebird. Is there any way to set up posting pics in the classys like thosed managed in the main forums with just the need to click on one image, and the rest in the group are all available in a viewer??? The way it works now each ad pic needs to be supersized and then deleted to go to the next pic. It's a PITA..... 'Specially when a lot of pics are posted in one ad....
  11. It's really cool, but I'd never be able to fit in it.... I think the spot lights are out of proportion. There's a lot of smaller bullet type lights on the market, and with his ingenuity he could have made something work.... Maybe that's next on the list???
  12. Not for me Miles.... Okay, you can call it a mini-butt'r.... Maybe leather cheeks?? I know..I know... that was a callous remark.. I'm good for about 450-500 per day max, I don't care what those Masochists think.. Talk about a late breakfast.... Hey if I lived in Tacoma I'd be there....
  13. You guys have a great time. It's a 700+ mile trip for me, and I'd be looking at a 5 day turn around. I'm no iron butter or wet weather rider... Around here it's still raining off and on into May.
  14. Probably the Corbin was built to fit the 99%'rs. I'm hoping that if it come to doing the Corbin dance they can custom make one that will fit me better than an 'off the shelf'... I have a Corbin on the '91VR and it feels fine... mind you it's still a single pan 1stGen... Thanks for the pics. To me it does look like the TD seat sits shallower than the RSV. One thing I've found is the pillow top may look cushy, but in my case they squish down even deeper than the stock saddle and create more of a rise to the passenger. Rick Buttler did do the mod last year to releave the numb tailbone area, but the jury is still out on the seat, as due to health issues I haven't been doing any riding or wrenching in a long while. That's about ready to change...
  15. Wish you a quick recovery Brian. That said, when better you might try swinging a leg over an RSTD. They do sit lower.... a lot lower than a 1stGen...
  16. You probably sit lower because the bike frame is lower. From the pic I think you can see the easy transition up to the passenger. I'll check around a bit more, and if I run into one cheep I'll give it a try. Otherwise a trip down to Corbin in Holister might be in order when summer rolls around. They will custom build you a seat in their service dept in a day. They use a one piece seat pan like those on a 1stGen. Maybe that's the reason I rode to Colorado and back on my '83 without a bit of a problem, and the ride to Wyoming and back on a pillowtop almost rectum...
  17. I donno?? I just saved your pics so I could flip them back and forth and the only thing I can see that's different between the two pans are the mounting studs in the RSV?? What I would be looking for is for the seat to sit higher than stock with less rise in the candle. Most of the RSV seats I've seen sit deep with a bunch of rise at the back which doesn't allow me to slide back a bit and crowds me forward into the tank. Attached is a pic of one I saw on eBay, but the BIN was more than I wanted to spend....
  18. How differently?? Is it way off, or close enough to do some slicing and dicing???
  19. I've noticed in pics that the RSTD seat doesn't seem to sit as deep as the RSV seat. Maybe I'm halucinating?? Anyway will a TD seat fit on a RSV???
  20. Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Haiti, So. America.... etc....
  21. Interesting unit. What's the country of origin?
  22. I get a lot of email for Chinese Vendors about different products, and this one caught my eye. I have no idea what the thing would run but it might make a good replacement for OEM audios that have bitten the dust....?? Just thought it'd make good conversation fodder.... BIKE AUDIO
  23. Yep, when motel'n it a lot can be said about keeping the scoot under cover... I sleep better.... I think I'd go for the lighter cover as long as it's kept in a garage, and it packs smaller when traveling... They're not going to fall apart in a month. UV is the biggest killer of MC Covers, and there ain't much UV at night in a motel parking lot. No UV and it should last for many years. However for those of us that are garaged challenged the all weather is the way to go.
  24. Generally it never goes any higher than the $29.99. Put in your bid for the $30 bucks and if someone bids over, so what, there'll be another....?? Or... like Steve see if you can buy one directly from DuraShield with the free shipping.
  25. You can buy a lot of covers for that $400.... If I had the money to invest I'd go one step further, and pick up an inclosed 5x10 trailer... It'll last longer and be more usefull....
