Been meaning to post about this for a couple of weeks now. With no room in the garage the bikes have to spend the winter outside in the elements. So I'm always on the search for a durable outside cover that isn't going to break the bank. On eBay there is a seller who has been offering an all weather cover. I bought one to give it a try. It's good. The brand is Dura-Shield You have to be carefull as he also offers a lighter style too. This one is all black and doesn't have the standard silver panel oround the bottom. I liked it so much I just picked up another one. The material is heavier so it's not going to be something you want to stuff in the saddle bag...it can be done but takes up a lot of room.... The bungee around the base is also the strongest I've experienced and goes all the way around the bottom. It ain't going nowhere. There are better covers out there that are good for the weeklys or overnighters. The price delivered to your door step is $37 bucks and you can't beat it with a stick. I highly recomend them. Here's another knife I picked up recently...not at the last auction. Very unusual... Can't find anything on it. It's an A.G. Russell/Germany, and I have posted to the Russell Forum, but haven't gotten any kind of response as yet. I like out of the ordinary knives when I can find them....

That's a very unusual knife James... With the gut hook you can cut off boots or spread mayo with blade. I like it!! If those swords are Confederate you've really got something there Randy. If not they're still nice. I want to be next to you in a knife fight... From the etched words they appear to be Spanish or Mexican in origin. You don't find many custom knife makers dealing in that degree of decoration. Generally due to high Rockwells most blades are very hard to carve on. Even putting an edge on one, if it's made right, you can work up a sweat...

I have been on the site and did register, however haven't posted yet. With all their forums I didn't see any for 'what is it?' Congradulations on keeping the U.H. that long. I'm usually good for about 3-4 years before they go find a new owner.... However I do have an Imperial Frontier that makes a great letter opener that I've had on my desk for the better part of 25 years... It's not a matter of keeping one knife for ever, but looking at them as art work, and they all have a story to tell. All we need to do is listen... There are some awesome knives, and that makes them collectable IMHO...

I've dabbled in knives ever since repping Track Knives out of Whitefish Montana back in the early 70's. I'm also an auction nut. So every once in a while something nice will come along. Yesterday a batch of nice hunting knives came up at a local auction that I try to make every other week. One knife in particular has me scratching my head. Very nice quality, and the only ID on it is an 'A' over 'S' next to the hilt. The sheath is kinda cool too. I've attached pics. Is anyone familiar with the maker maybe??

Well that was inspirational as all get out. I'm knocking on the door of 72, and have had those ugly thoughts of maybe hanging it up.... After that I'm clear headed again. It may not mean a lot to the younger crowd that are still imortal, but to us OF's it certainly gives us something to shoot for....

Rick still has the RSV, and he rode it over to the house to pick up an extra windshied chrome piece I had after he broke the one he had in a garage fall. The bike is getting to look pretty seedy. He's been busy making a living and not getting on the computer that often... He doesn't answer my PM's or Email either....

Almost bought a VTX1900 before I found the '83VR. It had a Vance and Hines exhaust. Sounded impressive.... Something to think about??....

It's Kalifornia.... There are more people living here on welfare than actually work... Gotta be a correlation between that and the cost of living....

The difference between yours...nice job... and the original is the size of the tach. The original takes a 2 5/8" tach while the other takes a 2" guage of your choice.

Dan I understand where you're coming from, but let me run this scenerio by you. You're wearing boots, jacket, helmet, and in heavy stop and go traffic. The temp is 100+, the engine is runing hot and the fan has kicked in. Would you or wouldn't you lane split if there was enough room between vehicles???

You have air in the lines. Go to www.speedbleeder.com and replace the bleeder valves with 8125L's. It'll take 6 of them if you replace the valves in the Anti-Dives. Otherwise you'll only need 4 including the clutch. Also you won't get any fluid out of the front left if you're using the brake lever on grip. It will come out using the foot pedal. See next. Yep On the '84 it doesn't have the top bleeder. It came about in the '86 model year. The spongyness is due to air in the lines.
