  1. thanks for the update Skid. was thinking of you tonite and checked in here to see you had posted. That's a good thing. Thanks. Saying another prayer, just because I can. give my best to the wife and kids. Hopefully will meet them one day. Patti BTW...it's snowing here in TN tonite.
  2. Well, here I am again, at 2:50 am wishing I could just sleep like normal people. then again, what is normal? My mind wanders to different subjects and then it hits me...time to pray again. Sending another prayer up for my friend Skid.
  3. Could be something there Dan. Well anyway...it's now 4:30 pm and I am about to leave work going home. Figured it couldn't hurt to say another prayer today. Sending you a prayer Skid and some loving from the south too!
  4. It's' almost 2 am, I am not sleepy, but have to go to work in 5 hours. Thinking of you and sending a prayer. also sending a big hug and a smile.
  5. Yammer Dan Sorry no, I didn't. Since he didn't eat any fish, I didn't count him...or the other one Don found. that would up the count...to say 97??? LOLOLOL!
  6. Cowpuc: Not counting Freebird's MD, I believe B2dad and B2mom's M & E has had the biggest turnout, at least for a 1 day event. Last year we had 95 total. We raised over $3000 for St. Jude's. It was awesome! (thanks everyone!). Patti
  7. so sorry to hear about your loss. You and your family are in our prayers. Patti and Don
  8. Jay Not sure if you remember, but the reason we are not doing our meet n eat anymore is because we are getting our house ready to sell this spring. WHEN that happens, we are going to purchase an RV and HIT THE ROAD!!! We have been planning this for a year now. We have been looking at RV's, floor plans, even went to the Knoxville RV show last weekend. Had a blast walking in an out of all those gorgeous NEW RV's. Unfortunately, we are not in the market for a new one, but wanted to see the layouts and see what we liked as we had mostly just looked online. We have been "campers" ever since Don and I got together 40+ years ago, starting out with tents and going through the whole range of what was available, including a Class C and a Class A motorhome. We have kicked around what we really want now and have pretty much settled on a Class A. this is because we are getting old and want to be able to get up and walk around and grab a snack, use the potty, etc etc... Our vision for the next 5 years is to travel. WE are not looking to "winter" somewhere or stay long in one place. We want to see / tour this beautiful country of ours. I have been jealous for some time of Aussie Annie and Alan...they have seen more of our country than I have and I want that experience. Don has been lots of places, but me...not as much. And the ones I have been to, we had deadlines to get there. I want to head in a direction and be able to stop and see that big ball of yarn or corn palace. If we only go 100 miles that day, so be it. that is also why we are selling the home and all the contents. I don't want to worry about it being broke into and what happens to my stuff. I hope you and Jeannie realize your dream too. I got tired of the MIchigan winters and high $$$ living / taxes there over 30 years ago and we headed for TN. The thing with this is: if we find out we really don't like it, we can sell the rig and settle back down near one of the kids again. I want to be able to pick up and visit friends / family / places / this beautiful country we call the USA. I want to do it now while I still have my health and most of my mind. and if (God forbid!) something happened to Don; YES I CAN drive the MH. Not afraid of doing that at all. and HIM? he most certainly can carry on without me. I have enjoyed reading all the posts here and appreciate too, everyone's opinions. Hope to see you on the road, maybe by this summer! Patti and Don
  9. Well, I have to brag a little on my grandkids. Our oldest son, Daniel (the one that supplies all the fish for our annual meet n eats) has 3 kids: Mercedes 12 yrs old, Caiden 9 years old, and BT (Byron Tanner) who is 6. Mercedes has taken several deer in her short lifetime. Caiden is catching up to her very quickly. BT finally got to hunt this year and got his first deer, a large doe, which we brought home and processed ourselves. Very good eating. He was very proud that he supplied food for his family this year. Venison is what we eat the most of around here. What is new this year is that Mercedes is now field dressing (gutting) ALL the deer now. She is very good at it and really enjoys doing it. She is pretty handy with a knife. We have decided we won't be worried about her when she is old enough to start dating. I think the boys will be on their best behavior with her once they see her knife handling expertise! son, Jason (the pilot) is home this weekend for the holidays with his family. He is getting ready to take his 2 boys out deer hunting for the first time in the morning. they are all excited. Practiced with the 243 today and did remarkably well. I have no fear they can drop what they aim at. We are enjoying their short visit for the holidays. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Patti and Don
  10. Glad to see that this will be on the calendar next year. Always a great time! Especially if you remember your tent poles, stakes, etc. Course you still have to watch out for that POND MONSTER...never know when he's going to make an appearance.
  11. always glad to see you are able to post after a fall like that. Been there, done that. don't want to do it again. Tell your wife we are praying for a speedy recovery. Patti
  12. Which one did you all get? I can't make up my mind!
  13. I think.... As some of you know, we are getting ready to sell our home and all the contents...basically going to sell everything we have (with the exception of a few things going to our kids)...and we are going to buy an RV and hit the road full time. It's a bit scary to think I won't have an actual home to go to. And let me just say that in all the years we have lived here in TN we have never had any trouble at all. We didn't live in a big city, mostly we lived in the country with few if any neighbors. However, I am tired of working and Don is restless. So the RV makes perfect sense. We can travel all over the country and even planning to visit Canada. So if the area gets rough, we just pack up and move on. I have alot of places on my "bucket list" that I want to see. Anyway...we are going to list the house next Spring, probably around March..and when it sells (I do say WHEN IT SELLS) we will purchase the RV, I can retire, and we will hit the road. Hope to visit with alot of our VR friends. Sound like fun? Patti
  14. so sorry to hear about your bike. Been there, done that, don't want to do it again...EVER!! so very glad you will be ok and hopefully ride again. Crazy idiots in dark cars with no lights! You just have to keep riding defensively and hope for the best. Prayers that you heal soon and get back to riding.. Patti
  15. That's really great Mike. Very generous offer. Who else wants to donate an item?
  16. ....keeping Snarley Bill and B2dad out of trouble....just saying...
  17. Course we don't have the trike anymore, but no doubt about it...the diamond cut fins from eusa1. They were the best investment we made. Got the most looks, comments, long talks at EVERY rest area. Everyone wanted to know where they came from & don was not shy about telling them.
