  1. Thank You all very much! I love this sight. The noise does change with the clutch lever pulled in, its a lot quieter. No problem with clutch performance. I think I'll take the advice and deal with it when I need a new clutch. And not worry about it for now. It all started when I put the stock exhaust on for a trip to the smokies in June. I here all kinds of stuff I don't hear with the Bubs on there! Loud exhaust is back on and that helps the rattling. :duck:But seriously, thanks again for the great advice I really do appreciate it. .
  2. It is louder on the right side now that you mention it. What does that mean? New clutch plates, basket and so on?
  3. Its definitely coming from the bottom end of the motor. Almost like a small rod knock but only at idle. Throw out bearing rattle maybe. The dealer doesn't know anything but will take and listen to it for 75 bucks and go from there.
  4. I have a '99 RSV with 38000 mile on it. It has some engine or trans rattle when the bike is idling in nuetral. Kind of a low rattling noise that seems to be getting a little louder this season. I don't here it rolling down the road, the seems to be running perfect otherwise. I would appreciate any thoughts on what I might be hearing and if I should be concerned. Thanks for your help, Buford
  5. well, thats a good question. The liquid is light brown like oil but real thin. I thought it was just dirty gas. Oil and gas mixed. Probably some blow-by like you said and normal I hope. I think I'll just keep ridin' it like I stole it!! Thank you very much for your responses. Dave
  6. I have a 99 RSV. I was changing the spark plugs on the bike tonight and when I took the tank off I discovered quite a bit of gas on and around the air box on the top of the carbs. The only thing I could find was the boots on the top of the left carbs were quite loose. I don't know if I have a vacuum leak some where or why there would be gas hanging around up there. Oh and the bike has been running perfect. Any thoughts would be appreciated, not real familiar with carb works.
  7. Greg, I bought a set of bag rails from them back in August. No problems, good price, fast delivery, $12.65 S&H to west Mi. from Oh. I have there phone # if you'd like it. Good luck,Dave
  8. I just installed a Radiantz LED tail light and with the bike running the light is not steady, it flickers just enough to make it annoying. I tried revving the motor some and it still flickers. Any one have any thoughts about that? Thanks, Buford
  9. I went to a smaller front tire last spring. The 130 from the stock 150. No other changes. No more wobble. It happened to me a few times last summer, the wobble I mean, always when decelerating. Not a fun thing. The bike also feels about 100#s lighter with the smaller tire for some reason and handles better all around. Good luck and in the meantime hang on tight please
  10. I've been with a nationwide LTL (less than truckload) carrier for almost 22 yrs., when I first got into it I was just 26 yrs. old. I like it because I'm home every night, have great benefits and a pension. I worked the dock second and third shift driving a fork lift for quite a few years but didn't mind staying on the dock at all.You can plan on working nights if you go with an LTL carrier. I am a city driver and have a regular route now and I'm paid by the hour. A few co's. that are out there are Yellow,Roadway, USF, CCX, FedEx Freight, UPS freight, ABF just to name a few of the bigger ones. There are areas of the country that are struggling to find good, qualified drivers. Thats my two cents, I would be happy to answer any questions you might have and good luck to you. PS after you,ve been driving a while the stress level goes down: #1 rule, PATIENCE!!
