I’m far from knowledgeable on the subject but have read older stator/rectifier designs won’t correctly charge LI batteries. They require an updated charging system, I don’t know where the RSV fits in that timeline. I’m gonna have to replace mine in the near future, I’ll stick with AGM as I’ve gotten 3-5 years out of each one I’ve used.

You might check with @M61A1MECH. He builds quality plug and play light harnesses but I’m not sure about horn sets. The main goal is to run a fused hot wire from the battery through a relay to power the horn. I built my own and used the factory wires to fire the relay.

That usually comes from too much oil in the crankcase.

I made the mistake of hosting the wife’s family dinner, a very small group. I seem to only be able to cook like it’s my family (35-40 people). There’s enough left over for a Venture rally supper. Now we get to go Saturday for the big one, at least we can leave the leftovers at my brother’s house.

Glad it’s not any worse. I watched Col Steve Austin as a kid, now I think a lot of us are becoming the new $6 million men. I’ve got the screws and anchors in my shoulder and a hardware store in my back according to the X-ray tech a couple weeks ago. This getting old stuff ain’t for sissies 😫

We went this morning and I think we bought half the store. Got one kid on the road now and the other coming tomorrow. We’ll have a small lunch Thursday and the big one Saturday, around 40 people at that one. I come from a large family.

I don’t use my saws very often so I switched to canned Tru-Fuel. 2 year shelf life. Saws sit months at a time but fire right up.

I’ve been watching since it went on the market. I knew the owner as kids but haven’t talked to him in over 40 years. I’m sure a lot of rubber parts will need replaced. It’ll have to go way lower before I even talk to him. I’ll probably not be really interested anyway.

I bought a Dewalt cordless pole saw last spring with an 8” bar and chain. The speed of limb cutting highly impressed me, I’ll probably get the chainsaw in the near future. I use a Husqvarna 22”chainsaw now but with back surgery the lighter Dewalt for small jobs looks pretty good.

Junior told me a couple days ago that Pinwall sold out at auction. No idea who bought it or what the future is.

I used RTV at the cam recesses. I didn’t replace the rubber plugs, I didn’t know about them when I did it. My rear cover has started seeping recently (30,000 miles later)but it’s gonna have to wait til next winter, although I’ve heard of some re-torquing the bolts and having good luck. There’s always been an argument whether to do the valves but like you I plan to keep it til either it’s worn out or I am so I invested the time, I took them close to the outer limit to try not going there again.
