Starting to pack up, man do we have alot of crap? Gone are the days when we took off for 10days with only the saddlebags and tourpak to fill. I do miss those days! The excitement is still the same tho, prepping, getting ready and finally taking off on a long trip. Just hope its alittle coooooler, cause its been hot, hot, hot here! Craig

Sorry to hear that Phill, I was looking forward to meeting you. I do understand your thinking and agree the risk of "problems" unfortunately is greater rite now. Would have liked to check out your new scoot and swapped stories. Hopefully next time? Craig

I like mowing grass, but dont think I like it that much:yikes:
-
Glad you guys had a chance to catch up. So its ugly hot up there too? Its really bad here 98 today, older I get the harder it is to deal with the heat. Mowed the grass at 10am and that was it for the day. How have you been feeling lately, are you still losing weight or has that stabilized. Take Care, Craig

Very cool, where can I get one?
-
That 06 looks just like my old one, Corbin seat and all. That seat gets you a good 2" closer to the ground and makes you feel like you fit "in" the bike not "on" it. Think you will love that bike and seat once you get use to it. Craig

It aint gonna be the same without you guys, and I mean all you guys, Eh!!
-
Glad you were able to walk away from that one, it does rattle you tho, when they pull out rite in front of you. Guess you will probably be bike shoppin this weekend eh. Take care and heal up quickly, I hope! Craig

Congrats Rich, you will love the 06 once you get use to it. Nick, my grandson has really tore into the maxim and has it looking and running pretty good. Will send some pics when he gets it all together. When I picked up my trike, I rented a car one way, dropped it off at rental center, had trike owner pick me up, swapped paperwork and rode the trike 500 miles home. I also flew out to Kansas city to pick up a bike for Jonas, guy picked me up at airport, put me up for the nite and I was off for home 6am next morning. Sounds like you are in for a road trip. Good Luck, Craig

No worries, I will flash the hi beams on the camper, ought to bring you rite in from your side. Craig

Kim and I are coming up for sure, but it just wont be the same without the Canadians. I really mean that, it has always been a pleasure in getting to know our northern friends alittle better at each meet. Hopefully something changes in the next few weeks and the border opens up. Saw where they are using Dexamethisone as a promising treatment for the covid. It was one of the cancer drugs in the cocktail they used to treat me, I have extra if needed. Maybe better treatment options will help in loosening up the border. The great gummie run of 2019 wont be the same:crying: Craig

My take: Asheville is a laid back getogether and a chance to ride some of the most beautiful roads in the East. Great twisties if you want to push it, or beautiful scenery and site seeing if you want to take it easy. Just hang out at nite in a beautiful campground and enjoy the conversation. During the day you visit the Biltmore Estate and try to figure out how to heat and air cond. it:thumbsup2: or ride thru amazing mountains and valleys. I always felt Asheville was more about the rides. As I type really wishing I could have made it this year. Its a great meet n eat thats for sure! Craig

Congrats, bike looks beautiful and I am sure you will enjoy it. I got a kick out of you saying the frame flex wouldnt be an issue cause you dont ride that hard anymore. The exact same way I feel, would rather take my time and enjoy the scenery. Every year I think I mite quit, then I ride the bikes to get them inspected and fall in love all over again. Craig

Wanted to Thank all who responded, we are going to take Rich up on his offer of the Maxim. I had a 650 maxim yrs ago, my son had a 550 maxim yrs ago and now his son/my grandson will have a 750 maxim. Pretty cool eh. The kid is gnawing at the bit to go out and pick her up, have to admit I am looking forward to helping him out. Thanks, Craig

My grandson is looking to get into riding, looking for a nice first bike, around 650cc, cruiser type. Anyone know of a nice one tucked away in your neighbors garage, Pa, Nj, Maryland area would be great. We have been looking online, not much luck, seems they are being scooped up and carved up for cafe racers? Any help or ideas appreciated. Thanks, Craig

No power now... losing my mind
cecdoo replied to Mad Dog's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Your location says Cumberland, is that down by the Pa Maryland border? If so reach out to Wiz. Ron is his name and he is a Wiz, he lives for this stuff and I am pretty sure he would help you out. He lives down in that area. Good Luck, Craig -
You are a lucky guy, my wife lost 2 very close friends, one early 50s other early 60s and it was from the virus. This was early on, no one allowed to visit, no funeral, very sad for all involved. Probably why I feel alittle different about it. Craig

Right side handlebar starter switch block
cecdoo replied to Mad Dog's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Take a large clear plastic bag and try to create a bubble around the switch, cause if there are any small springs and parts in there, its alot easier to find them in the bag, then it is on your garage floor. I just spray contact cleaner in there, followed by wd40. Good Luck, Craig -
I was reflecting on Memorial Day, about the label given to the generation before me "The Greatest Generation" how they overcame so much in terms of wars, depression and adversity. How we revere our few remaining veterans of WW2, my father was one, sadly he is gone. Aren't those veterans the exact demographic most vulnerable? If wearing a mask and social distancing helped save even one of them, wouldnt it be the greatest way to show them the respect they deserve? Our Vietnam Vets who were treated pretty poorly upon return from SE Asia, they are now battling all types of medical conditions, war related. Again the most vulnerable demographic, I try to shake their hands and Thank them, maybe a better way to Thank them would be to do my part in stopping the spread of this virus. Anyway, thats what I was thinking about on Memorial Day, and thats why I do everything I can, to help the nurses and Drs that gave me 2.5more years with my wife and kids. Craig
