  1. Yeah May have to hall a couple to my step dads house temporarily, I love these bikes. I have gotten lucky so far as far as work on them. No motor pulled yet but i definately want to get there 2nd gears fixed, If i get them I may do that. But will be doing compression test and using the best one. Will strip all wiring out too that should take care of about 400lbs on the bike. Probably use a different tank more like a fuel cell... Want to take it way of Vmaxed build with quad exhaust. Thanks for posting, I do a search once in a while i dont know why it didnt pull up before.
  2. well i will be going sunday and looking at the basket cases! Can't really beat it for 3 bikes, So chopper build may commence as soon as I get some money rolling in.
  3. DAMNNNN Thats in Springfield TOO!!! wished I had a trailer big enuff I would so grab that right away, My son wants to see a chopper build out of these bikes I just could not bring myself to do it to Tinker or Riva.... I hate when that happens. But hell can't help it when they start talking to you! Your Just getting OLD!!!:backinmyday:
  4. Sorry Puc I been out enjoying the new edition working some quirks out of my $250.00 Venture. I gotta say tho I am trully sorry to here of this. I will be praying for healing for you all. I couldn't imagine losing my brothers even tho we aren't really close.
  5. yep your right on there Puc. I did this to riva to get to her rear tire she has that bumper on her and it is just easier to pull the seat. undo the bolts holding rear assembly and tire comes right off lol. I get to do all that again because Riva is getting a shock with a progressive on the back of her. I know i gained weight after the wreck but not that much to make her sink to about an inch off her rear stand.. LMFAO
  6. O man puc, I hate cancer with a capital HATE, I pray for you all for healing and strength. that was a beautiful poem i read just a minute ago..
  7. I just take my mufflers and right saddle bag off, then take the caliper then pulle the bracket and tire has enuff clearance to come off.. But i have an 83 so may be a little different...
  8. My classic is forward controlled, and he shouldnt have a problem riding it either, my short friend ron can ride it just fine and he is 5-0
  9. Well I'm pretty sure the stock shock on it is well gone I tried to adjust a dampening I mean it's just way too easy to turn that knob and it makes no difference what setting is on it still feels like it's on one and when I get on it it stinks like a good inch inch and a half. So I'm just looking for the outer spring one now found a few on eBay for like 40 bucks and under and also closer to a hundred and something!
  10. From what I have read in this forum and ventures the std ventures had the internal spring in the shock, the ones with the outer black spring was for royals. No one is quite sure why they put the external black spring on the royals other then to compensate for the weight of the compressor and the other comfort features of the Royal. Neither of my 83s have a spring that I can feel thru the rubber boot. So I am guessing the spring is inside the shock. Either way I like the spring om the outside it's probably stouter too.
  11. Question? I was scrolling thru ebay doing just that. Now I have found some shocks that don't have a spring, then others that have a black spring. Then there are the ones that have the Black rubber where the spring is. So does the Factory come out with springs on them or not?
  12. Ok how do you get progressive springs for the rear shock, my new to me bike is sagging bad, the airbag also dont hold air either. It will hold for a day but next day its back down to 25lbs

  18. Ok silly question... Did you lose the keys? Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  19. Yeah it was @Condor said something about using hex bolts to reinstall. It would give ya more control but maybe he has skinnier lankier arms then me. Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  20. Yeah on time served. Here manslaughter first offense is/was 45%. First offense meaning any type of felony. I served Nov-February in prison I got credit for 5 months time served. But I only had to do 15% of 3 yrs on a non violent felony. Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  21. Well it's not what I had hoped. Not sure of parole there but here he would have to do just over 2 yrs before he was eligible. Thanks for post. Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  22. Yeah it was answered in my thread of need keys. I used a 11 inch extension up thru forks and cabled to get to mine. I had to pull it to have a key made for my bike. Its a pain to get bolts back there unless you have small hands. It is 10mm socket. Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  23. Damn someone looking out for ya tho! Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  24. Well I'm going to guess our frames are around 150lbs think maybe 75lbs per wheel... So 300 might be close give or take a few lbs. Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
