  1. Yeah now I know why he sounded familiar. Rip Arlen Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  2. Why does his name sound familiar? Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  3. Wow you posted in October and I'm just getting to it! Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  4. Forgot to add I have a pole here I leaned the bike against to put that cover in the air. Waited a little bit then pulled the cover. Just a little bit of oil loss but better then draining it to take a peak! Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  5. Which is what mine was doing I ended up taking the transmission cover off to see it! Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  6. That's the new 2 me venture that I got for $250! Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  7. Somebody has already done that to the master cylinders, I also kind of wonder if the ones on it even go to the venture because they seem more slanted that the ones on my other bike. I will take photos tomorrow and show what I am talking about..
  8. Mine may or may not be here JYA26H002DA006514 that is the Pucster deal of the century..
  9. We still haven't talked about it, you just said we should talk because you had the same issue. Mine had just got so bad I had to fix it..
  10. As a matter of fact as we speak I'm getting ready to head to the parts store to get an extension because I found that out.It is a pain to get there but also found out of the 10 mm. And I will definitely keep the Allen head screws in mind! Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  11. Also video you said same thing when I said I finally fixed my oil leak. Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  12. I wish it was that simple Video. Talk about tight spot. I did take the clutch cover off and I believe the rod went that way. I could be mistaken but getting the seal out was well a pain. The easiest part of the hole process was using the socket just as the right up says to insert new seal. My clutch seal reminded me of the leave a in the middle of the pile. Where there crunchy but also a little wet. The shift shaft one on my bike was in better shape. I still replaced it because I was getting tired of ppl running over to my bike thinking it was on fire! I also got tired of my yamaha being confused with a Harley when it marks what it thinks is its territory! Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  13. I also bought it without knowing if it ran! I knew the motor turned is all. That's because I rolled it in gear and turned motor that way. 8 months of setting and once I got my key to turn the ignition I filled the bowls by rocking the toggle kill switch. Gave it some choke, hit the starter and she cranked over a few revolutions and roared to life. Only thing wrong it seems is the water pump elbow had a gash. I don't know if it's been mentioned or not but if you're has gash replace it. Also grind the ear down on the engine guard so if it falls it don't bust that elbow open again! That's all I'm gonna go Tinker with Tinker. Good luck! Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  14. Hey Maddy I'm cheap when doing stuff. I go to eBay every chance I get to find the better deal. But if you dont grab that final I might! Lol Not sure what it do to a plain Jane original Venture, but I like to see all the numbers right here. As far as tranis go and vmax rear. Pretty cool I tell ya. I don't know how far you are from Joplin, but got to say I'd be interested in watching the second gear be fixed permanently. I just recently wrecked my venture and went to Pittsburg KS and picked up Riva for $250.00! Guy just started working at his grandpa's company couple months ago and it was setting there along with an 83 gold wing. So now it gives me an opportunity to do something else I've seen done on here along with keeping the full tour pack to. If I am gonna pull a motor I personally would flip it upside down replace that issue and I will ad thus info to. I would replace both clutch rod and shift rod seals just cause! I bought tinker with a small oil leak. I finally got it fixed last year. It turned out it was the clutch rod seal leaking. But hey she has all new gaskets and seals now! I think it was @videoarizona who also has this pesky little leak. The biggest pain was getting it out from the tight spots there in. I would think if you have the ability to flip the motor over they would be a little easier to get too. I'm not 100% on this but I would definatly replace those seals. 15. Well my mistake was hoping on vtwins and Harleys last year. I bought a little 650 Vstar and was shocked at the low end it has. Got a friend who has I think a 13 or 1700 might be wrong. All I know is *wholy crap* I have never messed with vtwins before. But I still love my big birtha bike to. Your right on that move there pulling to. The only other bike I'm looking at is a fat boy. I don't even know why I like the looks of it to be honest. I'm odd when it comes to bikes. I have passed on bikes simply because there tanks looked funny. Suzuki and Hondas mainly have funny looking tanks. [emoji12] Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  16. This State is retarded, kinda why i was happy to get the bike running. I could just drive it to the inspection station to get the ID/OD. Just a way for the state to make more money and make **** a pain in the rear. I sent off for my title today but first had to get the ID/OD. Can't simply just transfer a title here. I have never heard of something so crazy, what does the motor have to do with a Vin on the bike? People switch and swap motors and such all the time.. But then again refer to previous statement for Missouri!!! Wal-Mart Has the 4 foot led lights, i got the 4200 lumens and there pretty bright or $17 and there called hyper toughs. They sell like Hot Cakes they also have a brighter version at 5000 lumens that has pull chain for $22 I got that one for my youngest room.
  17. Speaking of short, Just curious have you had to make any short stops on your bike from say 30-35 Mph? I have a guestimate of 15 feet, would that be ample to stop those new bikes.. I am working on getting my credit up to get the new bike next year. At least that is a hope. if not one of the left over or used 2018 models. I really am fond of the gun metal and blue colors..
  18. From what little I can tell so far she will need HH pads for certain. Someone had the pedal adjusted kind of low to my liking. But I took it for a spin and have some brakes the anemic ones. I am thinking a member had posted where you can get the rebuild kit for the brakes so I'm going to try to search that up. The screws in the master cylinders however I need to get them out, I'm hoping they ain't stuck in there but I'm not impressed with the looks of the screws. Since I'm waiting on a water rebuild kit on tinker I may just well just take off the elbow and switch them out. And then take this one for a little bit or Spin and see what else I can find it needs done. But my impression is the tow company that had this bike picked it up after whoever dumped it over. That's how I got my deal with no keys but the title. Probably going to Steel Tinkers tires for now. Might as well just totally redo tinker by replacing the washer in the transmission that's going to sound like a fun job at least I'll know how to do it on this bike when it goes if it goes. I'm pretty much guessing though that second gear has not been fixed in this. Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  19. Well I stand corrected it's amazing what you can see better at night time, than you see during the daytime. She's got a steady spray coming out of that little Groove and that's where she's leaking I think I'm going to name her either Riva or Ruby. And I bet you know which way tinker is going to be going her name is Tinker after all! Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  20. Well found a place to get the key cut for $25.00! That's cheap I believe. Looks like I have a leak in the bottom small hose going into thermostat housing. I'll put water in it and check for sure later. Also the right elbow has a god awfull gash in it. But amazingly don't leak there. The brakes and tires will be next. But probably gonna do chopper build with tinker maybe.. Still up in the air. As I didn't plan on getting another bike. [emoji16] Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  21. I will add the Dunlops that are on it have a date code of 185.......[emoji102] you look at the pegs and we'll there practically brand new looking. Last time it was tagged was for 60 days last year. My impression of looking it over. Someone last year dumped it and was scared of it. I put it in my garage last night and it just took a bump of the starter and she fired right up! I have never been so happy before but want her to be right! So I'm hoping only hack job was near the battery. It still has the glass fuses and they are in great shape. This is gonna be cool getting into this bike. Now I just need to recoup some money so I can get started. The guy also had a 1983 Honda gl1100. It ran good while he had boost box on it but when he removed it, it would spit and sputter. Only thing I could think of is the lack of 12.5 volts. I don't know what guy paid but I bet it was cheap. Anyways I'm gonna try to get some pedal back then take him/her over to get inspected. Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  22. Its funny you say head west I did that. Then that's when I got reminded of the brakes being, well I've been in cars where the pedal hit the floor stopped faster. [emoji12] anyways I may just move the bags from tinker to this one but I would still want just one key. I found some on eBay last night. But @cowpuc your right there was a member who said he was *punching* keys but I think he needed the key code or something like that. I may get ahold of a locksmith if they exist still and see if I take him the tank cover I broke open to see if he can key it that way. I expected it to start but did not expect her to run that damned good. Still needs gone thru but I got to complete the id/od in order to get the title transferred. Some stupid bull**** Missouri does to make **** a pain!![emoji15][emoji15][emoji15] Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  23. I just bought an 83 venture and it has no keys to it. Just curious if someone has any spare ones laying around. It don't have saddlebags or anything. But the fairing is still there. Someone bypassed the actual fan switch so it comes on with the key. This is what she looks like. She has 26,000 miles I believe. I did not hear it run I bought it on the spot. Brought it home got it off the trailer and had her running within an hour. She sputtered then vroom she went. Aired up front tire and went for a spin. I will say tho I forgot how bad the brakes were on Tinker originally. Damnnnnn they suck! But hey following in a crazy lop eared varmints foot steps. Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
  24. Will add I think the bike was built around the rear header. Sent from my LG-M255 using Tapatalk
