  1. I’ve had dizziness issues since my open heart surgery in 07. They come and go and happen suddenly without warning. They spooked me to the point of giving up riding, but I just couldn’t do it so I ended up on a trike. I’m pretty happy on the trike,so don’t rule one out. Anyway good luck with your decision!
  2. Haven’t tried them on my I-phone but can’t get them on my I-pad. Thx for the reply.
  3. RIP Tim Conway. On a side note, why am I not getting any of the videos?
  4. When I first got the RSV trike I thought it was under powered, but after some reading on the forums I figured out I was lugging it to death. You see I was riding a Stratoliner which is a big inch V- twin with lotsa torque. After I realized the V-4 liked to rev everything was good to go. It makes about the same HP as all the other touring bikes but just at higher RPMs. As a side note when I started riding the piss outta it my MPG went up from 30 to 35 !
  5. Started riding trikes when I started having dizziness issues, that was 6 years ago and now with a bone on bone hip I’m glad I did. A bonus for me was that the wife wouldn’t ride 2 wheels but she loves the trike, always ready to go. I think once you get used to the trike you’ll never look back!
  6. I work part time at an auto auction and we get a lot of vehicles from up north, and the ones from Ohio seem to be the worst! I’ve often wondered if they spread salt 24/7 365 days a year.😎
  7. Congrats! Retirement is great,if I’d would have known I was gonna like it this much I would of done it 30 yrs ago. 😎🍻 Here’s a little advice. Take a year and do anything, nothing, whatever you want to do and then then get a part time job. 1 or 2 days a week, just something to get you outta the house, and around people. Plus a little extra play money is good too. Enjoy yourself!
  8. I tried a rear tire mounted reverse on the front of my Venture/Hannigan trike and got about the same mileage as the original front tire (10k) .I now have a regular front tire back on it and it’s wearing fine. Looks like it will last about the same mileage, the roads around here are hard on tires. The original front wore great so I thought a rear tire would last a long time, but it cupped badly!
  9. I’ve been having heart problems since I was 45,had open heart to replace a valve in 07,along with several other procedures. The best advice I can give you is to listen to your Dr. and if you have surgery do all the rehab. I’m 62 now and have chronic a-fib,which means my heart is never in rhythm and some congestive heart failure. But I do just fine as long as I don’t over do it,which means slow and steady. Good luck, take it easy and listen to the Doc!
  10. Congrats! 🍻 here’s to many more.
  11. April will be really pushing it! It’s one of my favorite summer rides because it’s cool up there when it’s hot everywhere else. There’s lots of good places to ride in Arkansas,Mississippi,Alabama and north Georgia. Good luck with your trip!
  12. Congrats! Stratoliners are great bikes,I owned one for 7 years and loved it. It is hard on rear tires, but the grin on your face every time you twist the throttle makes it worth it!
  13. Good luck and best wishes
  14. I owned a 08 for 7yrs.and it was a great motorcycle. I’m 6’7” and it was really comfortable for a big guy,I would still have it but health issues caused me to go to a trike. The Stratoliner is a torque monster and very smooth ride,I still miss that bike, probably more than any motorcycle I ever sold! The only problem I ever read about was a few of the 06/07 years had 3rd gear issues. There is a very good Stratoliner forum over on Delphi you should check out.
  15. Valkyrie’s are great bikes,I had a 97 tourer. Good luck with the new bike!
  16. Congrats! Retirement IS all it's cracked up to be. 😎
  17. Good for you. It's gonna be a long winter!
  18. Nice trike! I have a question for you, do you know what brand that backrest is? I am thinking about getting one for my trike. The one that was on it when I got it pushed me too far forward. The one on your trike looks like it would give me more room. Thx in advance!
  19. Sounds like the alternator to me. I hope it's not too hard to get to,they have a bad tendency to bury them on modern cars! Anyway Good Luck. Glad you made it back to your office,my son lives in Atlanta and I know how the traffic is.
  20. I put a 777 on the front of my trike about 2 months ago and have put about 3k on it. It seems to be wearing well, and drives good on the front of the trike. I know a trike is a whole different critter than a bike ,but I definitely would do it again. Plus the price is very good! Good luck with your decision!
  21. I regularly got 45/50mpg with my Stratoliner, but it wasn't a full touring bike.
  22. About a month ago I left W.Ky with a friend on a road trip,me on my Venture and him on a Goldwing. We went thru Tenn. Al. N.Ga and my stereo and CB worked perfectly. When we headed towards Maggie Valley my radio and CB started acting up and I thought the wires under the fairing were loose again. It acted up off and on while we were in the mountains, but when we got back into the flatter parts of Ky it started acting fine and has been fine ever since. We were running the CB's the whole time,I wonder if that's what was going on with mine! It sounded just like a loose wire making connections an then loosing it. Also I run my squelch all the way up to keep from picking up high power line noise.
  23. Just my 2c worth, but I have been watching the debate and I understand we're all Venture lovers. But don't discount the new bike.I owned a Stratoliner for 7 yrs and let me tell you it was by far my favorite motorcycle I've ever owned. The motor is a torque monster with lots of horsepower. It is air and oil cooled and I never thought heat was a problem. The only reason I got rid of it was because I had to go to a trike for health issues. I would have triked it but there are not many kits made for the Stratoliner and it was going to cost too much. At the time I didn't know if I was going to like a trike or just stop riding,so I bought a Goldwing that was already triked. After a yr.on the wing I found the Venture trike that I have now, and seeing as I'm 6'7 I really appreciate the leg room I have on the Venture. I think had they not used the Venture name people wouldn't be as upset. It looks like to me the new bike has most all of the features everyone wants believe me the motor is great. Having said all this I guess I'll just keep grinning while I ride my Venture trike.
