Funny thing is New Hampshire, the "Live Free or Die" state does not require insurance. If you do choose to purchase insurance, you pay thru the nose because the state has "special requirements" which the insurance companies take advantage of and jack up the cost. Several years ago a bought a house about 5 miles from the apartment I was renting. My insurance went up $30.... I called and asked why? They said there was more crime in my new area....WHAT?? I moved to a rural area which has virtually zero crime. It's all a scam.....we are damned if we do, damned if we don't when it comes to getting insurance.

WOW!!! I pay $1K/yr for my Venture/Hannigan trike and an 05 VStar 1100. I have no idea what you have to do to get these extremely low rates thru Geico. I have called them several time over the years and requested quotes. They always come in way higher then what I was currently paying. I have a clean driving record. NO accidents or tickets but yet Geico and AAA always come in very high with their quotes. I wouldn't mind it so much if we had a 12 month riding season in the North East but at best it's 6 months. I lower my coverage once I put the bikes up for the winter so I do get a refund which takes some of the sting away.

I got a quote from Markel for my trike. They were going to give me more coverage than I currently have with Progressive for $200 less. After doing some more research I found that they would insure my trike as a single unit and it would depreciate as time went by. With my current Progressive policy, the trike kit (and everything else not on the bike when it left the factory) is insured as accessories. The accessories are 100% coverage with ZERO depreciation. So, I stayed with Progressive as I thought it would be worth the extra $$ since my accessories are over $25K

I've had my Mic Mute for over a year now. Still haven't installed it. Since I still have 2 boxes of stuff to be installed on the trike, I think I will wait until winter and then I can get everything on while it's taken apart. Hopefully no one will post pictures or info about something newer or cooler than what I already have..... I hate when that happens.

Before going to Canada a couple weeks ago I set up and saved route I wanted to take using Base Camp. I loaded it into my GPS. When I was leaving the hotel in Cornwall Ontario, I selected my "custom route" which was listed as Cornwall to Minden. Once the custom route loaded, it took me around the round a bout in front of the hotel and back into the parking lot.....end of trip... Obviously I still haven't figured it out either.

you need to remember that when you add a trike kit, the fenders and rear tires add drag to the trike which will lower your MPG. Also you are adding weight to the trike. Our Ventures weight is about 840 dry and when you add (Hannigan) kit, you are adding 320 to that. Another thing about the Hannigan Aux gas switch. It has two LED lights, red and green. GREEN is OFF and RED is ON.

I contacted the sales department for U-Haul years ago and inquired about buying one of their old trailers. I was told that they sell their trucks but not the trailers. He didn't really have an explanation but I'm guessing it has to do with liability.

I like the look without the covers. I may do that next time if I can find some Chrome Rotors. Anyone have an idea where I can locate a set? I had my front wheel chromed and think it would look better with the matching rotors.

Wish I could attend again this year however the Ontario trip this past week and my Maggie Valley trip in Sept will eat up my vacation time...

Damn, Sorry Bob!! Well I got a small piece of tubing and I syphoned some oil out. All is fine now. I obviously didn't get all the old oil out because I could see the new oil setting on top of the darker oil thru the window. I will change oil again after the Ontario trip and before going to Maggie Valley. When are you heading to Minden? Are you crossing at Niagra?

as Bob said, I have a trike and it was on a level surface (in the basement). I have change oil before but this is the first time I have over filled.

it is a crush washer...first time I ever used one.

Just did an oil change on the RSV. Put in fresh oil, ran if a few minutes to get oil into filter. Waited about 10 min and checked the oil level. It was just above the minimum line so I added a bit more. Went back about an hour later and the oil level is at the top of the window. Any suggestions about getting some of the oil out without having to remove the plug (I just put a new compression washer)??? I may try to suction some out from going thru the top (fill hole)....

Not sure what these pipes came off. I will have to look a little closer at them and see if there is a model # or if they have a cat built into one of them.

I contacted V&H and they said they do not make a set of Monster Rounds for the Venture. If that is the case, what bike are your pipes "supposed" to fit??

Mine are also "yellowing"... any fix for that other then blacking out or replacing?

I was going to paint mine but then I added LED lights to the bottom edge of the inside fairing. The LEDs light up the deflectors and I like that look....at least for now.

Looks like a great time. Need to hold an event closer to NH!!
