McDonald's as well as several other places are adding the kiosks to avoid paying an increased minimum wage. Just like Lowe's and Home Depot have added self checkout stations. Now they only pay 1 person to run 6 checkouts. That cuts their pay and benefit costs thus increasing their profits. Very sad that everything is about greed nowadays... What we need is better customer service!

I think after trying to talk with them about the music, beer cans, flags etc..and being blown off time after time by your neighbors and the landlord, I would make several phone calls or send a few letters to: 1. Code enforcement since there is a limit on the number of occupants that can live in a house/apartment. Support it with pictures and other info 2. Police so they can also document that they are disturbing the peace. I would position a game type camera to have pictures if they destroyed my property. 3. Border Patrol, is you know they are "illegal" 4. local news media., not that I have any faith in the media after this election cycle but they can put pressure on your landlord to "fix" the issue.

Rode it last month and very little traffic going in either direction. My understanding is they are not allowing big rigs now. I still heard that once in a while one may get thru. Someone that came to the Maggie Valley Trike gathering was pulling a trailer and barely crossed over the center line and was stopped and given a $200 ticket.

3.5L ????? I think that is almost a quart too much.....

Frustrating news today. My Hannigan trike is too long!! I got word from the manufacturer of the Hydralift that my trike would exceed the legal lane width limit when turned sideways on a lift. Also, they don't make a lift to support my trike for that reason. The class A toy hauler garage is the exact length of my trike with NO wiggle room. Also the floor of the garage at the doorway slopes downward to match the ramp angle and reduce the angle at the top......so I'm guessing that will be too tight of a fit without something rubbing. I'm considering calling Thor to see if there is any modification they can do (custom job) so that my trike will fit with no issues. So, I guess the research will continue for now.

I'm also shopping around for an RV but with the intent to eventually sell my house an live in it once I retire. Right now I'm on the fence between a Southwind (2015 w/2253 miles and Ford v10) or a Meridian Diesel Pusher (2010 with 21000 miles). Leaning towards the Diesel Pusher since I can put a trike lift on the Freightliner Chassis but not on the Gas model. However the cost of maintaining the Diesel is one item holding me back. The other reason is, on the gas motor there are things I can do for regular maintenance that I would not do on a diesel. Another option I have been looking at are the Class A motor homes with built in toy haulers such as the Thor Outlaw and the Newmar Canyon Star. Both have garages that are 122" x 95". Not sure if you are aware of this but if your RV has a place to sleep, a place to cook and a place to go to the bathroom, you can write off the interest paid on the loan as a second home.

Hard to believe it would be the "tip over angle shut off" since my I'm riding a trike.. but never rule anything out...

Steamer, I do have Aux fuel tank. I carry 10.5 gal total. When traveling by myself I will usually go at least 250 miles before stopping for fuel and food. After talking with a couple Master Techs for Yamaha, I believe it had something to do with the electronics. I was able to ride home at 70 mph with no issues. It was a lot cooler coming home then going down. Since riding season is quickly coming to an end, I'm planning on changing all fluids over the winter as I go thru the trike and add the rest of the parts that have been sitting in boxes for the past year. Will make sure it's 100% for next riding season!!

you may be correct with the high temps and speed I was running. Also I had been on the road for 4-5 hours without stopping. Could have overheated something.

When I turned the key it turned over but would not start. It had plenty of fuel. As I said, I had been riding for about 4-5 hours straight, running 65- 70mph. It was in the high 80s with lots of humidity. It ran fine after it cooled down (after being transported to the bike shop). Cruised 70 mph all the way home and also did about 450 miles of mountain driving while in SC and NC.

I was cruising along about 70 mph and when I gave it throttle to change lanes I notices it wasn't accelerating and no response from the throttle. By the time I got over one lane it just died. All my electrical seemed to work. I think for some reason it stopped getting fuel for a while.

Last Saturday on day two of my trip from NH to SC I was on I-85 going around Charlotte NC. I had been on the trike for almost 5 hours straight and was cruising along about 70+ in the far left lane. My lane was coming to an end in one mile so I started to make my lane change. As I went to change lanes, I could feel I had no power when moving the throttle. I downshifted and gave it some gas, still no power and by the time I got over one lane, the trike shut down and I coasted over 3 lanes to the shoulder. I have no idea how I made it to the shoulder without getting hit as everyone was driving well over 70mph and it was extremely heavy traffic. After getting to the shoulder I tried to start the trike but it would not start. I opened the gas cap thinking is may be some type of vapor lock. It still would not start. I checked my fluids and everything was fine. I called AAA and they showed up in about 45 minutes and hauled me 10 miles back to the nearest bike shop. After about 45 min they went out to get my VIN# and mileage so they could write up the work order and check the trike out. While he was getting the mileage he told me to kick it into neutral and then tried to start it.....if fired right up and seemed to be fine. I was able to ride it to Maggie Valley NC and through many of the roads, curves and hills as well as back to NH without a single issue. Any ideas why it would shut down? My thoughts were a vapor lock of some sort or the engine had just had enough and wanted a break............

Of course 2 and 3 wheeled vehicles are FREE as long as they are Yamahas!!!!

It is not illegal for trucks to use that road. They are trying to pass a law to restrict or block semi's from using it as a shortcut from what I have read. Truckers see the map or their GPS tells them the road is there so that take it. Once they enter, there is no turning back.

Anyone have input as to info on these items? Are the Baker Air Wings worth the extra $$$ compared to the Yamaha wind deflectors? I think the Bakers have two separate wings to adjust air flow vs the Yamaha version.
