  1. The dealer did take my trike to Hannigan. They went over the trike and fixed what they found wrong. They also put on a new body and floorboards. I've been told by a very good dealer who builds bikes at Hannigan frequently that it is unheard of for Hannigan to "replace" a body or floorboards. My hat's off to Hannigan for such good customer service.
  2. Of course you did....LOL we wouldn't expect anything less for the King of Bling!!
  3. just in case I decide to go this route, could you share how you prepped and what paint was used? Many thanks!!
  4. All good info. I would just like to add my 2 cents Even though the intercom is always on, there is a harness which you can "plug and Play" which converts it to push to talk so that you don't get the feedback from road noise if you have it too loud. I have the harness but have not installed it....yet. Also, if you are on a long trip and use Bluetooth, you need to have extra batteries or a way to charge them. They may or may not last a full day depending on how much they are used..... This Is not a problem with being "wired" to the bike.
  5. Got to agree with Bob...If I was to do it over again, I would go to KY and let them build it right the first time. They can usually get your trike out in 3-4 days. Murray is a nice little town. If you like Mexican food you will be in heaven!! OHH and double check directions on your GPS...some of them tell you that Hannigan is NORTH of town but they are actually several miles south of town on the right
  6. Dan, either call Hannigan in Murray KY or send them an email. That info is on their website. Jon-Michael is the new Customer Rep and is very good. He can let you know the most reliable dealer. I wish I had checked with them before my build. I just went by some comments I had seen, by then it was too late.
  7. now there is a great idea.... I just happen to have some of that in my closet!! easy fix an no additional cost!! Gotta love it!!
  8. Thanks Bob, looking forward to that trip. Thinking about taking my time and avoiding freeways. Thinking about an overnight near the border (think I'm going up Rt 2?) Any suggestions??
  9. Thanks Puc. Actually I got it back for most of the summer last year. I took it to Nova Scotia and the WNY Rally. I think broke it in with about 6K miles. Should to that or more this summer with trips to Ontario Canada and North Carolina planned. My F4 Tall Windshield keeps the bugs off my face and teeth!!
  10. Has anyone seen the protectors (clear plastic deflector attached to the bottom of the fairing) in a light or dark gray? If so, do you know where to purchase them? I can find the lower deflectors in light gray but not the "protectors". I have seen gray ones on a venture but can't remember where or who's bike. Thanks
  11. Thanks, it's been a long time getting it back... He never installed the reverse or the LED light I asked for to be put on the trunk. I have purchased the spoiler w/brake light for the trunk which I hope to put install today. On the way home I stopped for gas and found that the aux tank filler hole and the hole in the body are offset quite a bit. My concern there is the gas spills out of the full tank and sets on top of the aux fuel tank. Not sure if it's contained or not.....will be contacting Hannigan. I sure don't want it exploding or catching fire while I'm on the road. Also I noticed the front of the bike leaning to the right when viewed from the front.... I measured the distance from the floor to the bottom of each fork and one side is 3.8" higher than the other.... Have sent dealer pictures and description of both issues. Now the wait begins....
  12. Well I finally brought my trike home even though it's not finished. Twenty months of waiting, questioning and fighting with the deal was 19 months too long. I will finish things up myself or have a local shop do the work. Looking forward to many SMILES and MILES!!!! First long trip for the summer will be Minden Ontario Canada (since Lake George is only about 4hrs...can't really call that a long trip).....Then in Sept heading to Maggie Valley NC...
  13. Finally going to pick up my trike Saturday morning!! Of course he never finished it...can't go down that road right now.. Once I get the two boxes of chrome parts put on, I'll send you some pics
  14. May I suggest that your friends purchase the "motorcycle" option for their AAA account...... that way you won't have to wait so long for them to get back on the road.....
  15. I agree with Freebird, there are Ventures out there, you just have to look around. You can always rent a UHaul motorcycle trailer ($15 per day) and go pick one up. I just did that with the Vstar 1100 I bought. Drove from NH - VA overnight to pick it up.....cost me about $200 in gas and trailer rental for 2 days. Still haven't seen my EZ-Pass bill for toll charges. check out Nationalpowersports.com in Pembrook, NH...they have an 08 venture...... about 4 guys from my shop have purchased bikes from them this year. Everyone is very happy with what they got. The shop goes over every bike and they are ready for the road when you drive out. They also ship!!
  16. if you have the funds, I would offer him $5K cash and the $2K trade in for an out the door deal. IMO, the Venture seat is the most comfortable seat I have ever had on a bike. I was able to ride from Fl to NH and not once did I get saddle sore.
  17. I think there are just a couple things that he didn't do and will not have a chance to do since I'm pulling my trike. I will take care of that stuff myself. today I contacted the NH State Attorney General's Office and was directed to file a complaint with the NH Dept of Justice which I will do today. If anyone has had any of the issues I been thru or other negative experiences the following business, please PM me with your side of the story. I need input to stop this guy from screwing good people. Doug Mulligan (owner) American Trike and Motorsports 223 Winchester St, Keene NH He also owns the following shop but I have never dealt with them: Cycle Design 305 State Rd Phillipston, MA Those of you who know or have dealt with Doug know that he is a very likable guy and will promise you the world...problem is, he never follows through!!
  18. Yes Bob, I sent Hannigan a "heads up" that there are several guys, a couple who own Hannigan trikes, who are putting together a law suit against this dealer. I wanted to let them know that their company will be involved as a byproduct of his actions. I also contacted their former customer relations manager to give him a heads up of the possibility of being contacted by an attorney down the road. Again this morning I sent this dealer an email asking him once again to provide me with an itemized bill so I could review it and then transfer some money to pay him.....still no reply..
  19. Calling out to hear from anyone who has had issues with any trike builds, bikes or service from the bike shop in Keene, NH. I will not call out the shop by name or the owner by name on a public forum. My trike is in it's 20th month of the build. Now he is holding my trike refusing to deliver until I make payment in full prior to delivery. I have requested an Itemized bill at least 6 times but her will only give me a total amount. I have been approached by several folks who are starting a class action suit against this shop. In just the past 2 days I have been contacted by over 8 guys who have been duped by this guy. It's time to put a stop to this treatment of honest bikers. If you care to share your story of broke promises and missed delivery dates by this shop, please PM me. I can also provide the name of the shop thru a PM. I will be contacting the local tv station this morning and inquiring if they do investigative reporting. If they do, I will share the info other have provided as well as my story and hopefully they will be interested in run with the story...........
  20. http://www.customdynamics.com/yamaha_turn_signal_retro.htm scroll down to "dynamic Clusters"
  21. On there site it has plug and play harness specifically for the V Star 1100. I will give them a call just to confirm. Thanks for your input
  22. Custom Dynamics makes a plug/play for around $89 I believe...
  23. the trike is already open...so give her an umbrella and tell her that's the ragtop!!!
  24. Since I only have the brake light illuminating the rear of my V Star 1100 at night, I would like to make my turn signals into running lights (in addition to being turn signals). Anyone know the quickest and least expensive way to accomplish this?
  25. I like white walls......have them on both the bike and the trike!!!! The secret is.....she rides...she cleans!!!
