  1. I just purchased two of them w/J&M speakers built in. Only used them once so far and was surprised at the comfort. They are about 5 ounces heavier then the Nolan 104 but still ok. very little wind noise and the ventilation could be just a tad better. However the lack of ventilation could have been caused by my new, taller windshield which significantly cut down on the air flow. I will be testing these this week as i'm heading on a vacation and MUST wear helmets where I'll be riding.
  2. All Hannigan Trikes use a 7.5 inch Ford Thunderbird differential with 2.73 gears matched to right-size tires to maintain the original bike ratio, except for the Hannigan Harley-Davidson® FLH series Trike conversion, which uses the original H-D belt drive and sprocket. Mufflers of the original motorcycles are used on all Hannigan Trikes. I'm getting around 32mpg on my first two tanks of gas. This is the first time this bike has been on the road since dropping it off at the shop in Oct. Even before the conversion I thought it lacks some balls going uphill when riding 2 up. It might just be me. I will try gearing down to 4th or 3rd gear and see what happens. Thanks for the feedback.
  3. Just had my '09 RSV converted to a Hannigan Trike. With the extra weight it seems to loose some of it's nut going up hills. What modifications or adjustments can be done to maximize or optimize the performance?
  4. HHmmm, no mention of how fast that baby has been (so far)....
  5. I'm heading to Nova Scotia the end of the month. Taking the trike on the ferry from Portland to Yarmouth and then riding up to Baddeck. Will do the Cabot Trail the following day and then ride back thru NB and Maine.
  6. I have tried two sets of mics and speakers. the mic is in the correct position. Her voice is still very faint through the speakers and when she "speaks up", I can here her without the mic/speakers. Guess she should just sit and take in the views and let me talk.....LOL Maybe it's a sign!!
  7. NO, that is why I am divorced!!!!! However until I can find some louder aftermarket pipes to substitute for her, I would like to hear my friend (occasionally).
  8. I have an issue with the volume of the passenger intercom. Passenger hears me just fine however when she talks, I can't hear her. I she has the microphone positioned correctly and have adjusted the intercom volume up. She must talk very loudly for to be heard and then I can hear "her" voice over what comes thru the speakers. Anyone had that problem? If so, what was the cure? I have already taken off the front fairing and cleaned the connectors and applied dialectic grease which cured the sound system of all the other issues.
  9. I have an '09 RSV being converted to a Hannigan Trike. I will be running my Baron's Nasty Boy 4-2-4 Pipes. I am also going to add the K&N filters. My question is what will be the performance difference by using the filters in the OEM filter covers and/or running them with the Yamaha Chrome filter covers which expose the entire filter? Will TOO much air be consumed and effect the mixture causing me problems?
  10. I have a buddy that works in R&D at K&N... he tells me NOT to over clean them. That they actually work better when the get some dirt in them. I clean the filter in my truck about every year and a half and never had an issue.
  11. Just got my Mic Mute kit for my RSV. Says I need to remove gas tank? I'm guessing not everyon removed the tank to run the wires.... Also, is there an alternate location for the control module since I just added a Utopia backrest I don't have room between the seats.
  12. Do they make an antenna that is lighted and will replace the stock antennas? IF so, where would I get them.....truckstop???
  13. great, now my palms are itching which usaully means I'm about to spend some $$ LOL the more I read, I just know when I go to Keene to look at the Hannigans....I'll end up ordering...... any thoughts on the full running boards?
  14. thanks for confirming that I was on the correct site. will be ordering in about 5 min...
  15. Thanks guys...I may take a ride down to Keene and check it out. need to decide if I want to convert the RSTD or the Venture......
  16. I keep finding out more and more to spend $$...LOL Is a Mic Mute an "add on"? I was told by the service manager at a shop that the only comm sets that work flawlesly with the RSV is the Yamaha sets which cost over $200 EACH. I bought IMC Motorcom HS-X140P stereo headset ($98 each) and they seem to be working fine...I just need to fine tune the volume control. These can be warn without helmet or with cruizer style or half helmets. Anyone have others that could be recommended?
  17. I own an '09 RSTD and an '09 RSV and have been thinking of doing a trike conversion. I'm liking the Hannigan kits more then most others. Anyone have ideas on what to look for and or avoid?
  18. Thanks for the tips on using Dielectric grease to fix my Venture audio problems. Wow, I split the fairing and pulled each connection apart, shot with contact cleaner and dried them....then just a little dielectric grease on the female ends....reconnected wires and turned on the bike to test......EVERYTHING worked to perfection!!! I have one more question about the IC.....Both myself and the passenger can talk without having to push the talk buttons...........is that normal? Or is the talk button only for CB useage? Thanks again!!
  19. where can I find the map of the USA that a lot of you have at the bottom of your posts? Also, once I get it, how do you color it in? Thanks
  20. I wouldn't steal a HD either. It would be too easy to ID me since someone could get the lic plate number off the trailer...........
  21. has anyone ever drilled a hole in their windshield? One idea I have had is to drill a hole small enough to put a small bolt w/rubber washers thru and use my chrome ez-pass holder. Seems that would work.
  22. thanks for the input....think i will just velcro the pass to the top of the dash until someone makes a holder specific for the RSV
  23. Anyone out there have a way to attach your EZ-Pass to your RSV? The holder I had for my RSTD does not work with my RSV. Thanks for any ideas.
  24. I just bought an '09 Venture in Florida and on the ride back to NH the audio system locked up. It would go from nothing working to only the CD changer. The display would go on/off and then controls would lock. I could not get the radio to work at all. Now I have one radio station but nothing else works and the display fades on/out. I think I will try the grease......... Any other input would be very helpful.
