  1. Thank you for following through! Bike looks great! And also a big thanks for all the details... and the pictures!!! david
  2. I have both the GoPro and the JVC: This new guy looks like a relative of the JVC... http://adixxion.jvc.com/ The Go Pro has the advantage of mounting ease. The JVC has a better picture and the built-in weatherproofing and monitor are quite the deal. I'll be curious how the Ricoh/Pentax works....as I've been a Pentax fan since 1970 with the original Spotmatic 35mm. Do let us know if you order one! david
  3. LED run/turn lights installed instead of reflector in front. Added white LED string under cowl to light up road a bit when I go "4 wheeling"... Thanks for the help, gentlemen!
  4. Todd, Hmm..I bought a white string of LED's that I was thinking of sticking under the fairing so it shines down on the front wheel and ground. Added visibility and can help me see the ground while parking. Good thought you have...I can do both at same time! Ok...time to get to work...grins. instead of popcorn and Netflix! david
  5. Yep...no problem down here. Phoenix had highest rainful in one day, ever! Tucson got hit a few hours ago.... I'm under partly cloudy skies right now.... If it was cooler, I'd ride out to the Santa Cruz...bet it's flowing right now! Can be a stream to a huge flooded river....just depends upon rain! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_Cruz_River_(Arizona) Thanks for asking!
  6. Ah...ok...so that is a cover and the reflector is underneath. OK..gotcha! Thanks..as soon as I go buy the 4pin triler conenctors, I'm putting mine on. Thanks, Vito!
  7. Ever see some of the youtube videos of guys trying to ride their bikes on/off a trailer? Scares the poop out of me!
  8. > Water evaporates fast...(it's a dry heat) ...unless there is a downpour, then it runs and floods for a few hours....gradually getting absorbed or evaporates. So very few "rivers" actually have water in them year around. We do have a few that run underground for miles....that is strange... I've been researching...there is a river that runs year around about 100 miles away, but don't know if I can get there from here without taking all day. And since we are in our "monsoon" season....I don't want to be caught out in a storm on the bike. So.....probably not a destination right now.
  9. Oh my...look what I found in my favorite electronic supermarket!! http://tinyurl.com/pp5eu7x david
  10. Vito, Question: How did you attach the little screw type plug that holds one side of the wire grill on the frame? Picture #1. Drill a hole in the LED light or is that glued on? OR, is that a cover for the reflector??? Guess I should take mine apart and looksee! david
  11. A dry river I guess if thats all ya got it better be impressive !> Uh...nope...beds are small around here. Don't know how I could ride into one to get a picture... Sandstorm? Thankfully I don't live in Phoenix anymore. Got real tired of cleaning the driveway, boat and pool each time!! But thanks for the thought, Jay! Joe...maybe tomorrow. It's too hot around here now. Have to ride in early mornings. I can't take the heat any more. Guess my built-in "air conditioning" isn't working like it used to! david
  12. Darn...I'm surrounded by dry river beds!!! This is the desert! Phooey...
  13. Beautiful! No other word can come close.... Thanks for sharing!
  14. Nice one, Van...! Next target: Your bike and.....a firetruck and/or an ambulance with a fireman/EMT standing next to your bike...
  15. Went for my Saturday run with VR. Passed two known "Pieces of art": One could be considered a sculpture, the other a statue. Youse guys and gals decide if either of these makes the grade... Well known restaurant...now closed. Amado, AZ. Well known restaurant called Wisdom's...with two chickens in front. Serve Mexican food in Tumicacori, AZ.
  16. That's nice. Now if my HOA wouldn't mind me keeping that outside! Here's a trailer I really like! david
  17. Well, I stand corrected. Looks like the link Steve posted has the originals as the first choice. Yep...I'll go there after my ride today. Need to find a statue here in southern AZ for Scavenger Hunt....!!
  18. Craig, I have the Cramp Buster too....but figured I would cut the Grip Puppy shorter on that side to make room for Buster. The California group that used to sell them I think is still there, just not the web site. I emailed them last week and got back an email that said I could still order Grip Puppies (the originals) from them by phone....haven't done it yet so don't know what the situation is over there... It seems you could only buy them there or in the UK. The ones on ebay don't seem to be the originals....so not sure I would trust them. Originals should run around $25/set, if memory serves?? They didn't tear up or break down like a simple foam grip would... The Kuryakin ISO grips seems to have excellent reviews. They would be my recommendation if I replaced my grips... There also is a ton of info on various cycle store sites about how to take off grips. Getting the old glue to separate seems simple enough using the right tools (Thin screwdriver, WD40, etc.,) and the only hard part would be taking apart the throttle assembly so you can slip the grip off, then put the new on. FWIW david
  19. Got mine in and they look like they will fit on the front just fine. Just need to find a way to mount the wire screen..... Didn't get the rear ones yet. Will wire the fronts for running/turn. But first, need to go for a ride in the morning...!
  20. Interesting Idea, Doug, using the regulator. Will look into that. Well...with lots of miles under my belt on the road (fun travel), I've never met a gauge that was accurate to another. Just ordered that digital gauge. We'll see how that works. Found my VR rear tire was scalloping...so I took it's air pressure to max on sidewall...the heck with 40 pounds!
  21. Ben, I have no clue how you were able to piece the fairing back together. I see the results but am completely mystified. Good job! Thanks for sharing your repair link...eyeopener for this kid!
