  1. I had a BSA B50MX, it sure seamed like a lot more than 38 HP to me. I actually used the engine in my street-able Gold Star B50SS frame. When I sold out my parts I was stupid because I still had the shortie aluminum pan seat and the one gallon alloy tank in great condition. I won't say what I got for the lot of it but I'll bet those two items more than made it worthwhile for the dealer who bought me out.
  2. P. Hammer: I think it's a Moto Guzzi but don't know when or which. I also wonder what the V8 submitted by HellYea was but he said he wanted to see me put one up and it's his thread so hell yea!
  3. Scott Flying Squirrel somewhere between 1926 and 1940 and it was my next stumper, I don't know how you did that.
  4. Is it orange or red?
  5. That one is a 1933 Indian Four and I was at a Wednesday night ride-in show last summer where someone showed up with a (better than) museum quality example.
  6. It's a blue one.

  8. I read some questionable info about trapped light (reflector) and losses due to protective cover (lens). Without a redesign these items also would apply to LEDs. The LED linked to is also completely dependent on the reflector since it has the LED mounted to the side of the H4 replacement assembly. I have an H4 HID on my Gen 1.2 that uses a standard halogen for the high beam that requires no mechanicals. The LED system linked to requires a mechanical cooling fan so that's a downside for LED. Both the HID and LED use a large ballast/control pack so there is no difference there. My 55w HID produces way more light than is possible with an LED and doesn't use much power or create much heat, not compared to the type of bulbs the bike is designed to run. With an electrically switched Halogen for the high beam I have a back-up and an option to run a lamp that is less bright for group rides, etc. I also have an 18W (6 x 3W) LED array on the top of the fork brace as an ultimate back-up in case the whole ballast fails. I will stay with my HID for now until the OEMs start designing an LED headlight into a touring machine that can come close to beating my HID.
  9. Why choose this over an HID?
  10. I don't really know so much about bitcoins but at one time you could "mine" them which is a lot of computer calculations to determine the particulars of one. I read a story about a guy who threw out a laptop hard drive with $8 million in bitcoins on it. Here's the link: http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2013/nov/27/hard-drive-bitcoin-landfill-site
  11. Don't know yet, haven't wanted to pay the price of a ticket.
  12. Is your friend putting FCR downdraft carbs on or which (35, 39)? I would probably like the set of DVDs but a little concerned about Dan's results.
  13. Willie is a tough old bird and he's actually in pretty good shape. It's still difficult to get him off the stage at one of his shows, he plays longer than most younger musicians. Sorry to see Pete go though, I wish I had met him or seen him play in person.......
  14. Happy belated B-Day!
  15. But why haven't you been one for civil liberties groups? Normally groups such as those are the best way to ensure that your civil liberties remain intact, as you now see yourself allied against a police state.
  16. Oxycontin is just Oxycodone that is time-released. It's a godsend for cancer patients, people dying of cancer. Without the time release drug my mother would get behind on her pain meds and suffer horribly before the nurses could get her caught back up. We had someone from the family sit with her constantly and monitor her pain meds so that her nursing staff didn't let her schedule slip. Don't believe all the sensational news programs vilifying Oxycontin, it's very useful and very much needed.
  17. I'll probably be mounting mine pretty near where the lower leading curve of the frame is. With the angled extenders on the boards I bought it should move them toward me just about the right amount. The boards themselves will probably be around 45 degrees to the ground. I might put a couple sets of holes in the mounting plates so that I can adjust them. Of course the object for me will be to get my legs into a position that keeps my thighs in contact with the seat to distribute my weight. Does that help?
  18. I really would like to buy a grower/retailer from Colorado right now. I think that by the time legalization spreads to other states the operators in Colorado will have very well established business acumen dealing with a tightly regulated climate. As Buffet says they will have a wide moat, if they are allowed to spread operations into other states. All of the stores are selling all of the pot they can grow right now, there is no inventory backlog.
  19. Yes, you could have kept your toys by renting some space and opening up a air gun museum. I have one for you, not old but it shoots a 9mm BB using air I fill from a scuba at 3000psi. The velocity is pretty similar to a 9mm handgun too! It's about as loud as a handgun as well, not "stealthy" at all. http://www.airgundepot.com/big-bore-article.html
  20. One thing I learned watching Ken Burns "Prohibition" documentary on PBS is that alcohol was way cheaper when it was illegal. We see that happening with pot now, not that I am a pot buyer but in Nebraska we hear every detail about our neighbor Colorado. If they really want to defeat illegal trafficking then they need to set competitive pricing for it. BTW, I haven't read the whole thread yet, but what was that stock tip?
  21. Heres some pics of the ones I won. From the looks of it this project will be easier than I thought.
  22. Thanks Dan, if you're not just being funny, let me see how difficult the ones I bid on look when they get here. Got any pics?
  23. It looks like you've got a project there. I have those downturned cans on my 93 and I thought it was stock, but what do I know?
  24. Thanks Orlin! Ken said he would send me some photos. I won the bid on a set of floorboards with controls and from the looks of them I'm practically there. I'm pretty stoked right now.
