:thumbsup: On the other hand, and just thinkin out loud here,,, I KNEW there was a definable reason that @Flyinfool has been working so hard on Jet Propulsion air craft.. WWW delivery system? :guitarist 2::guitarist 2: An FYI,, I been harassing him about development of High Temp White Wash, yesterday I was standing outside in 42 degree temp and it was like crazy, today it was 31 degrees and (still is). WTTW,, never underestimate what may be going on between those two peeked on that lop eared varmints head:Cool_cool36:

:dancefool::dancefool::dancefool::dancefool::dancefool::dancefool::dancefool: Ahhhhh,,, ought ohhhhh,, just checked the weather radar,,,, looks like your attention span being drawn away from the WWW didnt last long ya lop eared varmint ....

Go in the bedroom, unlock the gunsafe, grab the 1911, go shoot a couple rounds and see where the casings landed = perfect recoil spring tension should put em out a 5 feet. Now go to ebay and order a full set of springs = 7 pds to 24 pounders and start tuning.. CONGRATS ON THE RETIREMENT SLY!! Don't worry about finding things to keep you from getting bored,,, things to keep that from happening WILL FIND YOU!!!

:no-no-no::no-no-no::no-no-no: never ever under any circumstances share your riding plans in the same thread that you mention @Flyinfool and the WWW .. Go riding = YES,, post pics of the ride on the club house walls afterwords = ABSOLUTELY, harrass Fool when the ride is ALL DONE = TO INFINITEY AND BEYOND!! But I gotta tell ya brother,, you are walking on mighty thin Wisconsin White Wash covered ice when you put em both in the same post... :guitarist 2::guitarist 2::guitarist 2::guitarist 2::guitarist 2::guitarist 2:

,,, WIN/WIN!!! When you need heat, just tap on the Blower switch to shut the motor off and wave your hand to move some air so the burner will light,,, easy peasy.. As cold as it gets around here, having to physically control the unit like that may keep you busy enough that your WWW plans for this winter will be set aside.. WIN/WIN... Sounds like that switch your tapping on is done.. Makes no sense that tapping on would seperate the contacts if they were being held in by a current flow. I would start there but,,, consider the source

One more thing before I do though,,,, Tip is standing behind me APPLAUDING your little paint can man message brother!!

Thats just cause you were outside in the WWW shed finishing up the tweek on those nozzles,,,, noticing that fluffin ya gave us today,, looks like ya about got er dialed in. Speaking of crazy stuff,,, you know what a good set of old school 0-1 Starrett Mics go for (talking real deal stuff,, like we used back in the 60/70's - not the fake stuff).. Look em up a second ago,, 600 bucks sound right Makes me feel like a dinasour, some great memories though,, I LOVED machining,,, would have never left itf the trades wouldnt have x3 my wage just for climbing steel to tig up a bunch of high pressure boiler walls. I gotta SHUT UP,, another one... :ignore::ignore::ignore::ignore:

GOOD QUESTIONS IMHO!! Gotta try and get this in here before Jeff or another Guru jumps in here. If I were doing this job, had a surface grinder in my pocket and needed shims cause I couldnt find new I would probably grab my old Starrett 0-1's, work off a good clean surface before I hit the magnetic clamp on the grinder and, choosing the most worn surface to grind on if there was one, run em down to tolerance needed by taking the stock off one side. Mic em up so I knew what I had, take the edge off the edges of the fresh grind if I had lost radius (maybe with a hone stone) and then I would place the shim in the bucket with the freshly ground surface facing downwardly into the bucket where it has nothing actually wearing on it. Leaving the factory surface upwardly in the cup would maybe leave a good factory surface to contend with the rotational wear/pressure from the cam lobes meeting them , at least in my grossly negligent back yard feeble mechanical mind Now lets see what the guru's say ,,, uuuuu hooooo,, @Flyinfool,,,

Bump,, but not a hard one like Tweeksis took us over when she took out that U-Joint,,,, just an itty bitty one to keep this thread active

You lop eared engineering marvel varmint walking around with a Surface Grinder in your right pocket .. Probably got a Bridgeport Mill in the left pocket and an Engine Lathe with all the tooling in your jacket When I grow up I wanna be just like my neighbor and buddy Flyinfool,, ,, minus the Wisconsin White Washer though cause I don't have ice in my veins :guitarist 2::moon: I think your offer to custom up some shims is awesome Jeff:thumbsup: .. The kind of stuff that makes being a club member here so much fun!!
