  1. Dig this,, I emailed CMMG (the manufacturer of my conversion kit) today to see if their was any form of a warranty on the BCG and if so, did I need to register my purchase with them.. REALLY REALLY AWESOME - MADE IN THE U.S.A. COMPANY!! Response back was EVERYTHING,, including the 3 magazine are 100% fully lifetime warrantied. Thats what I am talking about!!!
  2. Go outside, get a couple buckets of Wisconsin White Wash, go downstairs, pack the White Wash on the cut line, when it melts (dont use the High Temp stuff, it wont work as well and its kind of pricey ) go to cuttin and the melted White Wash will collect the dust. Then when evaporates (like Frosty on a hot summer day), sweep up the remains.. P.S. - if you need White Wash I have a BUNCH of it gathering back on my freshly blown driveway as I type. Be glad to point the snout of Johnny's blower your way and send it home where it belongs
  3. Been wondering the same thing Snipe,, I know him and Skidder were really close, hey @Skid, got anything you can share?
  4. You rootin tootin lead tossin lop eared shootin varmint VR club memberin brothers (and sisters) of mine GOTTA check this out... They got Blunderbuss's and EVERYTHING:guitarist 2: American history unfolds right before our eyes!! Hey @Condor,, I know you will LOVE this!! https://cwocauctions.proxibid.com/Carol-Watson-s-Orange-Coast-Auctions/Antique-Modern-Firearms-Edged-Weapons-Auction/event-catalog/157413
  5. Do you REALLY expect us to go there Sky .. Well,, ok,, if I must,, after all, once upon a time, in a galaxy farrrr away, we were all youngens.
  6. Well,, I can't speak for @Condor but I kinda sorta think he was just and admiring the purdiness of that concrete work.. I only say that cause me and Jack got some similar taste in beauty (having been around him and motorcycles and such proved that) and I gotta say,, I TOTALLY AGREE WITH HIM!! NICE PIECE OF CONCRETE WORK RIGHT THERE = definitey PURDY!!
  7. @videoarizona (and any other lop eared shootin varmints who may be following this thread), my AR build is coming along nicely. Still waiting on a couple things to finish er off (bipod, sling and such) but one cant rush a build. Until today I had not received my "test" ammo so the only thing fired thru it has been some cheap 22lr Ammo (just HAD to test the CMMG drop in 22lr Bolt Carrier Group). As shown in the pic's, the Cantalever scope mount (with built in bubble level - spared no expense - that mount costed my 8 whole dollars off Ebay ) came in yesterday and WOWZY WOW WOW,, very impressive IMHO. The UPS guy dropped off my test Ammo this morning so now all I am waiting on to go out and bench it is for @Flyinfool to aim those nasty nozzles back to the west to help fill those resevoirs in California. We got 5 more inches of fresh Wisconsin White Wash last night so instead of playing with my shooter,, I gotta go see if Johnny wants to play in the powder.. Any body wanna take a shot on which, if any, of this ammo will prove accurate? I did win an auction auction recently on Gunbroker for 1k of new 62 grain military spec (ss109 penetrator) for 19 cents a round (CHEAP) that will also be competing in the shoot out but it will be a while before it gets here. My AR's barrel is 16 inch, Wylde chambered with 1:7 twist (figured if it was good enough for our :usa:military shooters that twist rate is good enough for my play). Life in the freezin :cold:fast lane .. Puc
  8. I am with VAz Cha,, here is what I been runnin.. CHEAP and work great!!
  9. TOTALLY MISSED THIS ONE!! Tip and I must of been lost somewhere out CTFW or something, my bad.. Sorry to hear about your friends passing Bay!! Prayers Up for his family!! If there is one thing that life on the road on a motorcycle has taught me it is that right, wrong or indifferent - no matter who is a fault in a car/motorcycle accident - the biker ALWAYS looses and this is all another case in point. RIP Bay's friend.
  10. Yep,, gotta agree with ya brother,, them years pass us by like a teeny little motored 74 inch Mk1 1st Gen Yamaha Venture passin an 80 inch 2nd Gen or a 113 inch 3rd Gen and, like watching those much slower scoots disappear in the mirrors,, those days have long disappeared in the rear view mirrors of life... Them was great days though my good friend!!
  11. From my vantage point after having done everything from brake jobs to engine rebuilds outside in the winter time what you have going there is a DREAM COME TRUE Cha!! Given, I am talking about years ago before I was married, had a family and added on my first garage so Tippy could pull the van in during the winter months, I still clearly remember those days and would relive them again in a heartbeat!! I might add to this discussion that a decent 170k BTU kerosene flame thrower REALLY works nice if ya gotta do any of that type of thing by just tossing tarp over the car and making sort of lean to out of it to catch some heat, even in sub zero temps! Even i for garage work it only takes a few minutes of run time with the garage door open enough to clear the backside of the torpedo sticking out it to bring the whole garage up to summer time tempt then ya shut it off, close the door and go to work. Work in CarHarts and by the time you noticed its gotten to cold it will be dinner time.. Now all that means NOTHING if this is all about affordability. BELIEVE ME,, I UNDERSTAND THAT TOO!! In that case, you gotta do what cha gotta do brother!! Grab one of those little propane units, maybe put a house fan or two around to move some air,,, even staple some cheap tarps or plastic to those rafters to hold the heat in if its to cold.. What ever it takes to get that scoot ready for spring because, as you and I both know,,, we got FlyinFool and his infernal machine on the ropes and SPRING IS COMING:biker:!! In the end ya gotta remember,,, if your fingers fall off cause of frost bite ya got while rebuilding your scoot - they aint gonna do ya no good for clutch pullin or throttle twistin come summer!!! Get the one ya can afford and get er done Cha, THAT is what I would do!!!
  12. Taint nuthin cuter then a Tri-Colored Beagle Pup I tell ya.. Right there with you Jeff,,,,,, wish I could say the same thing about not having had a couple deer runners though,,, man I hated that...
  13. ,, WOWZY WOW WOW WOW!!! Sky,,,, THAT is AWESOME!!! Till now, I dont think I even know nobody famous,,, PLEASE tell your Son that "Uncle Puc" said = OUTSTANDING and CONGRATULATIONS ON A JOB WELL DONE YOUNG MAN!!!! :clap2::clap2::dancefool:
  14. Nothing different septin your on that lop eared varmints back when he decides to head for the highlands at warp speed, like a gun shy rabbit dog on steroids Seriously though Sly,, never looked at it from that perspective,, and I owned and operated MANY rabbit and bird dogs thru the years.. Thru the several really good hounds I had and the few bird dogs that chased up Patridge and Pheasants for me I never did end up with one that was gun shy = seeing your point here,, I am sure horses would be along the same line.. Not to change the subject but I still am VERY careful around horses when crossing their paths while biking. Many years ago as a kid I startled one once when coming over hill top in the woods. The rider almost got tossed. Ever since that time, when out on my dirt bike working up a sweat on our State Lands = if I came across people on horses I would nail the kill button and coast past em with lots of room between us.. That is a LOT of animal to startle.
  15. Well that really stinks:mad:.. I always thought Ammo was pretty much the untouchable part of the 2nd Amendment out there on the West Coast, guess I was wrong.. No wonder my Son-In-Law out in Sac got all and gave me the :thumbdown:when I mentioned picking up a few hundred rounds of ammo giving it to him for his birthday ... Dont sound good there brother.. Speaking about shootin, Tip and I JUST got in from doing some shooting. She done popped her very first clay pigeon EVER.. Really really proud of her as it was the very FIRST pigeon I tossed!! She done did FINE!! These modern day fiber optic light gathering front sites are MARVELOUS for a person like her who has worn glasses all her life.. That women is AMAZING!!!!
  16. All that said brother,,, why not just cruise over to this Milwakee Rental place and rent this for a day (42 bucks = cant even hardly buy a set of SDS MAX chisles for that!!)..https://www.arearentalwi.com/shop/rotary-hammer-drill/
  17. Now we're talkin REAL Cowboy stuff Sly:thumbsup:!! Having never been much of a horse ridin varmint (my sisters had em though and played with em some, personally I always liked my dirtbikes cause I didnt have to feed em or shovel their poop) I have a question concerning the matter that I have always wondered about.. Dont horses get a skidderish when you touch off a round between the ears on those lop eared varmints ?
  18. Living in Michigan and dealing with the likes of FlyinFool and his WWW for many years now, I have had tried different types torpedo heaters to meet the same daunting needs Cha. While I don't know your areas weather stats, I do know that in our area a smaller heater like that is basically a waste of cash. I have a 170000 BTU Kerosene model that is a multi fueler. I have used it for everything from thawing pipes, working on cars and stuff outside, heating the house for a short spell during furnace repairs, convincing tires that refuse to stretch over a wheel by heating them up that they dont wanna play such games and on and on. Plainly, the smaller units just can't compete in OUR enviroment. Looking back at the different things I have tried in my endeavor to stay warm, I can honestly say that I probably should have just saved my pennies right at the beginning and went big. Another thought, expeirence has also taught me that when using my unit to pre-heat our garage for winter work fun, I will open the garage door to the height of the heater, such outside air into the heater, turn it on and let it run for a 1/2 hour or so and even in the coldest of tempts outside, the inside of the garage will become VERY comfortable and I can shut the unit down - close the door and go to work. It does not matter which type you by, you want to be careful about working in an enclosed area with no fresh air for any length of time. Carbon Monoxide is really nasty stuff and, even though you cant smell it or see it,, it is there and can take your life. Even if you go with the propane, I admonish you to make sure you source fresh air on the input of your machine. Puc
  19. Mine is the first one Jeff, the 10 and 1/2 amp.
  20. Got that right,,, I was just outside and,,, HERE WE GO AGAIN = MORE WISCONSIN WHITE WASH FALLIN AS I TYPE!! According to that lop eared hamster Pucstiyawny Phil varmint,, we got that Fool on the run .. Pretty soon him and and his pal Frosty will be nothing but a distant melted memory as we play along the Lake Shore shooting our shooters and ridin our scooters . Speaking of that,, am I the only one who has practiced that old cowboy routine of shootin from the saddle?? Used to lay clay pigeons in the field (we lived in the sticks with 5000 acres of State Land = also my property from my perspective) and shoot at em with my handgun while in motion Life is grand,, get out and grab a handful of it!!!
  21. @Flyinfool asked about what I used to bust concrete during my past Sump Pump installation days. Here is a short summary of how that went and what I ended up with. After pricing out actual Jack Hammer rental fee's for the project, being as frugal as I am and as in love with having my own tools, I went out looking for prices on one of those teeth shaking, toe breakin, body rattling monsters. After being SHOCKED at what one of those air powered things I have seen street workers riding around on cost - I made my way to Harbor Freight just to see what they offered. I ended up purchasing the Hand Held Hammer/Hammer drill and a set of Masonry Bits for the machine. What you see in the attached pictures is what I came home with. Been a few years but as I recall, the price of this little jewel was VERY reasonable IMHO. Matter of fact, the unit price was almost exactly what the charge would have been for a rental with the 3 piece masonry bit set price kicking me just over Jack rental costs I had been quoted. Jeff, our home is fairly new so the concrete work (it has poured walls and basement floor) is to money concious spec. I have done a little bit of building thru the years and am pretty sure that whoever the contractor was that poured the floor in the basement used the old "2x4" on its side to screet off the sand before pouring in an effort to not over use concrete. In some older homes that I have remodeled and ended up busting up concrete therein - I didnt always find that to be case and have ran into some pretty thick stuff = LOTS MORE WORK. That said, this unit worked GREAT on my basements 3 1/2 inch crete. I found that using the Point to get started in making a hole worked best and then moving on to the smaller chisel you see in the pics. This thing cut like butter once I learned to let it do the work.. I dont think it would be quite as effective on thicker footing work or real thick floors though.. Just a thought. Here are the pics. Hopefully this helps in your decision making and/or anyone else facing such needs. Puc
  22. After years of tiggin pipe for the Boilermakers, if there is one thing in life I appreciate Corporal Newkirk it is NICE WELDS = BEEEEEAAAUUUTIFUL piece of fabbin work there bother!! Definitely looks like it aint a gonna fall off on the first bump:missingtooth: Truely good job! CONGRATS!!
  23. Actually, the way the 22lr Bolt Carrier Group is built, it does not allow for leaving anything in the chamber when you remove it to drop in the 556 BCG. It has what appears to be a perfectly machined stainless 556 "cartrige" permenantly attached to the end of the BCG so it all comes out as one unit. As mentioned in my latest P.M. about ammo seeker Sly, we actually got some shooting in today. I still have not received my test ammo for the 556/223 rounds (I ordered a big variety of everything from steel cheapy stuff to higher end ammo to shoot for group. Hoping it finds accuracy on the cheap steel stuff but one never knows - I HAVE NO INTENT ON GETTING BACK INTO RELOADING) but we did get to run some cheap Thunderbolt lead bullets (definitely no more than 1150 ft ps - 2 cents a round) thru it and all is AWESOME as far as function! Now I am going hunting for a drum feed for it to match my dual feed 100 round mag I have for the 556. Hopefully I can find one cause stuffing 22 shells into these 25 round mags that came with the conversion is already getting old. Thankfully my Tippy is always willing to help!! She is quite the lady!! By the way,, we found 90 packs of Clay Pigeons at Walmart for 6 bucks a box, grabbed 3 boxes of those. Getting ready for the WARM spring weather to hit as soon as that FlyinFool gets tired of being a pest .
  24. NICE @tufftom4,, REALLY REALLY NICE!!! We are still in frost bite land here on Michigan's West Coast and I am still building on the AR15.. This FINALLY came in today!! I did manage to get my new trigger installed into the lower receiver just before this arrived. I am really excited to get it on a bench rest and see how the 22lr's work thru it. I have a brick of Aquilla's, a brick of Mini Mags and a couple hundred CCI Velocitor's coming for it but it would be AWESOME if it would run on those cheapy Thunderbolts like I run thru my MK1 - I got a few thousand of those things laying around. You ever check out "Ammoseek.com"? It's an AWESOME ammo buying search engine, VERY POWERFUL!! Here,, here's a link: https://ammoseek.com/ammo/22lr I buy a lot of ammo off there as well as off following Gunbroker.. I just landed a thousand rounds of 556 green tip (military spec penatrators) military over runs (brand new, brass casings and 62 grain) for 200 bucks = 20 cents a round.. I got it from the same seller that I picked up the 200 grain FN's I been running in my 1911.. Nothing like talking guns on a sub zero windchill COLD winter night
  25. Hey Jeff, didnt I read that the Gas Company was working above the area you are now having issues with? Many years ago we had a colvert under our driveway that served the county drain (a creek) system. We had an ice storm similar to what we got going on right now and the power dropped off. Consumers Power had to cross our acreage to get back onto the 5000 acres of State Land to do a BUNCH of work to get clear lines. About 3 months later we got a big slug of rain and we ended up with an artisian well kind of fountain shooting up out of our driveway as the water flowed under the culvert.. After things calmed down, knowning something was obviously wrong, I looked into the culvert and notice a section of it internally had caved in.. I looked into renting the equipment (looked like FUN to me) to dig it up and replace it and, like you, got quotes from a couple contracters. One of them mentioned that something big had to have crushed the culvert.. I mentioned Consumers coming thru with their equipment. The contracter suggested a phone call to the Power Company.. A quick call to them, couple weeks later they showed up with a bunch of high end stuff and about 2 hours later a brand new culvert was installed, they even lined the "creek" with broken concrete (NICE) and reseeded the area.. PLUS,, I got a HUGE thank you from them for being patient with them in fixing it..
