  1. It was time to do something different. OK I finally have some time for something different. In the last few weeks UPS, Fed Ex, and USPS went crazy, they’ve been throwing parts on my porch for some reason. 10” apes, Kuryakyn ISO grips, bosses, weights, and foot pegs, a little rework of the dash, Ciro cup holders, and today my missing seats showed up after touring Texas for a couple weeks. It feels like a whole new bike at a fraction of the cost.

  2. All battened down here, shutters up, food and water stores put up, just waiting for a bunch wind and rain, been through this many times over the past 50+ years here in FL.

  3. We need more, gooder pictures! Did you have to do new cables/hoses for the ape hangers or were you able to reroute the OEM cabling? How much extra rise over stock is there? Details man! We need details! Looks good regardless!

  6. Been talking to my daughter about it. We moved her to Gainesville in June, first year of residency there. Her first ever hurricane, add to that a first time home owner, and she’s a bit overwhelmed. I was really thinking of heading down there tomorrow morning to help her but the forecast for her area is getting better. Dad isn’t liking it. ☹️☹️☹️

  7. For everyone in Florida and especially to all the folks in the western part of Florida in harms way of the hurricane, be safe out there.

  8. I just read an article where Canada is lifting the travel restriction related to COVID. Our friends along the border should be happy again. Let the meetups startup again, LOL. Canada to end entry requirements: Travelers will not be required proof of COVID-19 vaccine, testing (msn.com)

  9. Extra rise measurement I didn’t check, @WIZ might jump in with that knowledge he gave me the bars. I put a set of Baron’s 1 1/2 risers on too. I stuck with the original brake and clutch hoses but they’re pretty well maxed out without tension on em. Bought a set of RSTD cables on ebay and needed the extra 2” they give. The Kuryakyn pegs I found used and actually mounted them upside down. Rick Butler did my seats, while he had them I installed the risers and did the cassette mods. Now time to start on the Time Out trailer. New door seals, all new trim, vinyl wrap should arrive today. New tires and bearings already installed. (Refer to my “Moron of the day post”).

  10. Hey I resemble that remark. We will be heading up the week of 8th. We stay east of Highlands with a friend.

  11. Sounds like a nice ride up in the mountains. I am hoping that we don't get too much on the remnants of Hurricane Ian this coming weekend.

  12. I started following this group shortly after buying my bike new in 2008. I rarely contribute (because I'm kind of a moron), but have learned more from my fellow riders here than I can ever show my appreciation for.

  13. Thanks for this thread. This group has always strived to provide help, not criticize. Some people are good at searching and others, not so much. Besides that, sometimes things change. There are new ways discovered to accomplish certain tasks, new products on the market, some products no longer available. Nothing wrong with going over an issue again.

  14. Joe, I know what you mean.... Was away from here for a while... Other forums are not the same as here.... One forum I go to for my Spyder is good but there is a moderator that spell check and grammar checks each post also changes them to fit his idea of what a post should be... He cracks me up and pisses me off at the same time. Folks just posting search is your friend with-out helping out is a little belittling.... Maybe the person asking is not able to do a search, using the proper key words, to find the correct info... Everyone has strengths and weaknesses.... VR.Org is special and I found that out when I was away... This was the first MC Forum I signed up for and it's the best that I've encountered....

  15. Here ya go @circa1968!! Check this out! Met up with Terry just outside of Moab Utah on one of our 2 month bike trips out west. What a fantastic conversation we had with him. My wife and I enjoy coasting down mountains on our Yamaha Venture - our record of a non stop coast so far is 29 miles at 36 minutes going down into King's Canyon in California. After explaining this to Terry we found a common interest in the silentness he experiences on his Electric Bike (a Zero) and totally understood my interest in what he and his friend, Craig Vetter, are all about!! This was AMAZING!!! More about Terry can be found at: http://www.greencarreports.com/news/1...
