maddog2498 Posted 23 hours ago #1 Posted 23 hours ago Has anybody on here use a car tire on their venture? If so, what are your experiences and tires your use, and how many miles do you get and do you feel any different in handling? Thank You in advance.
Freebird Posted 23 hours ago #2 Posted 23 hours ago I haven’t but know that some members have. Hopefully one of them will see this and help. I don’t know why but Nexxen comes to mind.
RDawson Posted 19 hours ago #3 Posted 19 hours ago (edited) Yep Nexen is what I use. Look under the forums tab and scroll down to darksiders. Edited 18 hours ago by RDawson 1
luvmy40 Posted 10 hours ago #4 Posted 10 hours ago +1 on the Nexen. Easiest tire change I've ever done and great ride/performance. 1
bpate4home Posted 9 hours ago #5 Posted 9 hours ago (edited) On the '06 I ran a Nexan. on the '18 I run a g-Force 2 205/55/16 Edited 9 hours ago by bpate4home
bpate4home Posted 9 hours ago #6 Posted 9 hours ago Additionally, I thought there was a little more counter steer when I first went dark but that feeling dissipated quickly. I 100% notice better stopping and better handling in wet weather. There was no difference in cornering traction. Tires have lasted 20 -30 K miles compared to 5 - 8 K with MC tires.
RDawson Posted 9 hours ago #7 Posted 9 hours ago I’m headed to the Vogel rally today, mountain twisties darkside annually. Turning isn’t an issue.
dueyk1111 Posted 9 hours ago #8 Posted 9 hours ago what tire do you darksiders run on the front then?
RDawson Posted 9 hours ago #9 Posted 9 hours ago Right now I’m running a Shinko front. The fronts last long enough I haven’t gone double dark.
bpate4home Posted 1 hour ago #10 Posted 1 hour ago Did ride the '06 double dark. I'm not double dark on the 2018 either. On it I still run the factory model. 45K miles and only 3rd front. Which I don't mind the mileage on the front. The back was killing me. I did the factory model as the second tire on the back and only go 5100 miles before having to replace it. Complained to the shop and they agreed to prorate the 3rd with a factory model and got 6000 miles on it. That's wen I pulled the trigger on the g-force. BTW: I believe the G-Force has a run flat that some use on the 2018 and newer.
