gmcgeo02 Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 As most of you may already know I had a little accident with my bike on Oct 12, 2007 after surgery on my ankle. The ortho doc gave me a photo of my ankle with the plate and screws. I hope this won't be too distasteful to see. i have added a couple pics of the bikes damage
mini-muffin Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 That's interesting hadn't seen that before. Hope you heal up and are back to normal soon. Margaret
juggler Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 That is exactly what my left ankle x-ray looks like. I had the same break from falling on an ice covered sidewalk in 1998. One plate and six screws later my ankle is better than it was before. Much better actually. I used to sprain and twist both of my ankles all the time. Since they put in the metal works, I have never hurt my left ankle again. You'll be up and running in no time at all. You should be looking forward to a much better ankle.
Yammer Dan Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 My leg pics remind me of the ones they had on the news a few months ago of the horse they put down because they couldn't fix it. Glad I'm not a horse!!
Just-Jack Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 Well GMC i guess that nobody can tell you that you have a few screws loose because judging by the pictures they look like they are in there pretty tight.. Get better soon and avoid gravel roads!!!!! Jessie:2132:

utadventure Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 I had a very similar break 4 1/2 years ago playing basketball. After the surgery, I regained full mobility and activity. There are still moments of swelling even today. They didn't remove the plate or screws. It doesn't set off the alarm at the airport but I can tell you when a storm is coming!! Heal fast and go take a ride!!
KiteSquid Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 Thanks for the xray! OUCH!!!!! On one of my knee surgeries, I was able to watch the TV that had what the arthroscope showed the doctor what he was doing in there.....
