Ran across this old ‘71 Honda CL450 last night online. Went to look at it and bought it today. It needs significant TLC but I think it can be a nice bike. Not sure how far I will go with it. Maybe just far enough to resell it and make a few bucks. Sure brings back some memories though.

Still a go on our part, talked with some other Venture Riders that are not on the site any more sounds like a couple of them are coming. Sure am looking forward to seeing you all. -
Last I heard he was. Did you try PMing him or replying on his sell page?
- Last week

I did try that but could not get it to work, may have been because it just had 2 gallons of gas in it. I drained the tank because the gas was so old.

removed the cover and I could open them with no problem, ordered him one with a new filter from ebay

Fuel pump question
Paul Martin replied to mike042's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
https://www.venturerider.org/forum/forums/topic/58615-what-did-you-do-to-your-venture-today/page/58/#findComment-819668 Check this out. I've driven just over 1300 miles since removing the fuel pump from my 2001 RSV. No issues. -
Points stuck?

Finally found connector for Stator and I think I did it right except haven't tried test with bike running as I have to wait until Phantom can run throttle for me! Followed @Freebirds updated file on this took me a while to find the right plug to disconnect to do test. Checked for Stator coil resistance 1-2, 1-3, 2-3 and it showed .3ohms(used the 200ohm setting on lower right) Did next test on higher Ohms setting(kept it on 200 as instructions said ^100. Touched pins from pins to ground and reading was .5 To do AC test I put meter on 200~(upper left on dial with AC button pushed down(by Mastercraft) and touched 1-2,1-3,and 2-3 meter said around 23,24 Then last test was highest Ohms setting 20M and test showed 0.00,pins to ground. Did I do the test right with my meter or should I try and get some help????

Get a Mr Gasket from Oreillys, but you don't have a Venture.

ok I realize this is an old thread, but I'M in need of a fuel pump and I see them from 20 bucks to 400. where is the most reliable place to order from? FIL decided after two years he wanted to try to ride the trike and guess what cranks and dies and there is no noise or vibration from fuel pump, found a blown fuse but it blew again as soon as I connected the fuel pump back up.

Does anyone know if @skydoc_17 is still making and selling the brake and clutch hoses?

Good morning to all. With the weather looking good in the 80's and dry, it will be mostly riding for the rest of the week. Yesterday, I am so glad to at least put down my first application of fertilizer. The only downside is that I was sneezing all over the place. The pollen count is on its way up and will stay there for a week or so. Ride Safe all.

To answer the question. No, I do not have the bag speakers. I debated that option for a while but decided against them. The stock system was almost good enough so I decided to just upgrade the fairing speakers and add the 500 watt amp. I’m not at all disappointed. The sound is much cleaner and plenty loud. On the 40 minute ride to the shop, mostly freeway and 70 mph, I had it set on full volume. On the ride home after the upgrade I ran mostly at 50% volume and the sound was great. He was prepared to do the bag speakers if I wanted to but of course it would have meant I would have given up my bag covers, cutting the lids, etc. I like the bag covers and the demo I listened to convinced me that I would be happy with just the fairing speaker, dsp, and amp. I didn’t want to lose my covers and pay another $1,000 for the bag speakers, larger amp, etc.

I kinda like to hear the motor purring along. I have the same tape in the tape deck from when I bought the bike....Molly Hatchet. LOVE "Dreams I'll Never See".
-
Does your bike have the saddlebag speakers too? I bet that thing BUMPS
-
Earbuds with noise cancellation is the way to go, I cant even hear the bike run now.
-
Just had the stereo and n the Roadglide upgraded. Tim’s Stereo was in Cleveland and I had him add the Soundz 500 watt amp, dsp, and speakers. Fantastic sound.

I apologize. I am a little slow.

You know it is always nice to have someone with you, if you run out of gas. This way you have someone to push the bike.
