I I couldn’t link it but here’s a screenshot of what I’m seeing in multiple places. Unless it’s another false news scam, lots of those going around.

Just my opinion from years of hauling cars, motorcycles, farm equipment etc. I would put the bike on the front, possibly on an angle centered on the trailer, then the car nose forward as close as possible to the bike. The bike on the rear would tend to bounce more than with it on the front. When secured by the wheel/tire straps the car suspension will absorb this better than the bike. The really important thing is to keep enough weight on the trailer tongue, otherwise you will have a fishtailing issue. Argo

I would put the car weight over the axels. Only towed a combo once though and it was a long time ago.

Not what I found online: Here is the full online item for inspection: Item 6 seems to be the key item. 19VAC30-70-400. Motorcycle tires, wheels, rims. Inspect for and reject if: 1. Any tire has a cut or puncture, not to include a plug or patch that may be used as a manner of repair, or is worn so that the fabric is visible. NOTE: Plugs/patches shall be in the tread area only. Plugs/patches are not permitted in the side wall of the tire. 2. Any tire has knots or bulges in any side wall or if there is evidence of a broken belt under the tread or of the tread separating from the fabric. 3. Any bolts, nuts, lugs or spokes are bent, loose or missing. Rims or wheels are bent, cracked or damaged so as to affect the safe operation of the motorcycle. 4. Wheel bearings are excessively worn or out of adjustment. 5. Any motorcycle is equipped with a tire that has a tread depth measuring less than 2/32 of an inch when measured in accordance with the instructions set forth in subdivisions 6, 7, and 8 of 19VAC30-70-130. 6. Any tire is marked specifically for use other than on the highway such as "For Farm Use Only," "For Off-Highway Use Only," "For Mobile Home Use Only," or "For Trailer Use Only." 7. Any motorcycle tire has been recut or regrooved. 8. Directional tires or wheels designed and manufactured to go in a certain direction or rotation are not installed in the proper direction of rotation.

I don’t know, I didn’t read the whole law. What I saw is that they have annual inspections and it’s an automatic failure to have a car tire. My wife asked me the same question and my only answer is that we’ll find out if they stop me.

How will this law effect out of state riders?
-
say it isn't so, I have two car tires on mine. 😊
-
Not starting the darkside argument but I just learned Virginia has outlawed car tires on motorcycles.

Car, bike and trailer are 5393# plus a spare & jack
-
The car 2990# is a little nose heavy so I'm hoping the bike will take a little weight off the tounge. And the weight distribution hitch will take care of the rest.
-
Curious also but if the car is front engine, and driven on nose first, I would suspect the weight the engine would offset the bike on the rear

You’ve piqued my curiosity. Let us know how it balances out. Maybe a betting pool, I’m guessing car backed on with bike behind it.
-
The bike and car will just fit if the bike is straight on the trailer, with the bike at a slight angle it fits with out the tour pack hanging over the end of the trailer.
-
Will they fit nose to tail in 21’? My RSV takes a 9’ trailer if it has a ramp gate to clear the body.

Marcarl started following 2nd gen weight bias?

My guess is that there would be slightly more on the front than on the rear.
-
That's dry weight, curb weight is 869 if i remember correctly. What I'm looking for is how much of that weight is on each wheel.
-
Specs say 807 lbs. dry weight.

Does anyone have an idea of the weight bias of a 2nd gen venture? I'm going to be loading my bike and our Saturn Sky Redline on my 21 foot car trailer and am trying to decide if I put the bike or car on first to get close to a good tongue weight.

Well I'm a bit late posting this as it occurred on this past April 19th, and on that day, I replaced the standard manual petcock with a vacuum operated petcock. Got tired of remembering to get up and go shut it off hours after parking the bike. But also on that same day I did something that some may consider controversial if not downright heretical - I removed the fuel pump from my 2nd gen 2001 RSV. I've only ridden 675 miles since then. With no issues. Many of those miles in the twisties of the Blairsville, GA area including hwy 129, as well as high speed interstate cruising. Gravity seems to work just fine! So if you're on the road and your fuel pump gives out, just re-route that fuel line directly from the petcock into the carb inlet and cruise on!
