  2. Hi all, in July I rode through Bear Tooth Pass, AMAZING! Literally the day I got back home to Minnesota, my throttle cable broke! Whew, that was lucky. My local repair guy found the p/n on the oem diagram, it lists "41V-26312-00-00 Cable 2 (pull cable)". He ordered a new cable from Ebay with this p/n, but now that he's doing the repair, he found the cable doesn't come with the adjuster elbow piece (photo attached). And the new cable's terminator doesn't fit through the old adjuster elbow; because the terminator is too large to fit through. We can't put it together with what we have. Cable 1 (push) is still available from Yamaha, but Cable 2 (pull) isn't. I don't find the right cable with a web search. Does anyone know where to get this cable with the adjuster piece like the OEM diagram shows??

  4. Naah, they’re arguing synthetic vs Dino.
  5. I wonder what those two bikes are saying to each other, looks like they are having a conversation about Ronnie. 😊
  6. I’m sure $$$. I’ll stick to a V4 carb unit I don’t have to make payments on. On that note I bought Motorcycle Mike’s trike a few weeks ago.
  7. Don’t know a lot about the Challenger but it looks great. I’m sure it’s expensive.
  8. They have sold to Cypress Creek Motorsports. Dave and Ruthann are staying on staff for a three year transition before fully retiring. The Venture was never a huge seller for them but I don’t see very many people willing to invest that much $$ into a bike that’s been out of production since 2013. He did tell me they’re hanging on to the molds. The trike market is falling just like the touring market, younger people aren’t buying them. I use the same powder coater as Hannigan, he told me a couple years ago that he gets trailer and side car frames but very few trike frames anymore. They have a 3rd gen in right now getting a sidecar fitted to it. Cypress Creek builds a ground up trike using Chevrolet V8s and automatic transmissions. Called Challenger Trikes.
  9. I guess we shouldn’t be surprised. I don’t know. I didn’t know that Hanniganv had sold.
  10. I stopped in at Hannigan’s factory today, one of the office guys told me they dropped the RSV and a few other bikes out of their lineup this year. I don’t know if it has anything to do with the selling of the brand or not.

  12. I did 1098 miles on my IB run in 2019. No desire to ever do it again, never mind every day.
  13. Everyday, there is always something new that comes up in the news. Sounds to me it is a huge network.
  14. Not only that we need to find out who backed him. Some reports of up to 70K transferred to him in the weeks prior. Some reports said it was from shadow companies of the Socialist Democrat party. To be clear not the Democrat party. This is the one Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are a part. If this is actually true it would shake up parts of the congress and senate as well as NYC.
  15. I've been on segments of the Natchez trace and wouldn't mind doing the whole route. First time on it we were passing quite a few. In talking to and Attorney I work with he let me know to not get caught speeding on it because it's a federal road. Getting a ticket on is not just paying a fine you have to show up in federal court. Good thing we didn't get caught 'cuz we hit some of it pretty hard.
  16. @BratmanXj Simple reason. You are having fun!
  17. Anybody find a windshield bags that fits in the RSV ? I have a 2011 i found 1 at a bike rally that kinda fit. But no matter how much cutting and fitting the plastic piece that goes behind windshield it still works it way out and falls over speedometer..
  18. I did an I.B. Lake Michigan Loop as my 40th Birthday "bucket list", got home in 18hrs and joked with my riding buddy that we should have planned the 1,500 Gold ride just in case. 5yrs later and my knees hurt every morning and hands getting numb on the commute to work....and I wonder how I did it with such ease.
  19. @RDawson I think you were meant to be a firefighter. God has great plans for you despite the evil things that happened on 09/11/2001. Good always prevails. I too will never forget that day and on the same day, different year...my third child was born on 9/11.
  20. That was the day I had my physical to start my career at the fire dept. I’ll never forget that day for several reasons.
  21. I rode ONE 900 mile day, from New Ulm Minnesota to Hopkinsville KY in 18 hours. There is no way i could ever do 1000 miles a day for 4 months. He is a strong man.
  22. I've never owned a long gun, but all I can say is 'Very Nice'!
  23. The Natchez Trace is very close to my sisters’ home in Franklin! I envy you!
  24. Sounds like a great ride. Wish I could have been there.
  25. Good evening fellow riders. My Bro-in-law and I made it back home this afternoon after a trip down to Natchez MS on the Natchez Trace. We got on the Natchez Trace Parkway a little SW of Nashville TN and took 2 days to get to Natchez, with a night in Tupelo MS. We crossed the Mississippi River and stayed in Vidalia Louisiana Thursday night. I have been up and down the Mississippi River hundreds of times in my career as a towboater and driven through Vidalia several times chasing boats down for crew change but never spent the night there. We were blessed to stay in a hotel that was right on the river.
  26. So I have given up on the huge, ugly air box on my 98 RSTD! I have ordered pods. I will restrict the air flow for what's left of this season, which likely means increasing the fuel flow as well, but enough, is enough! I will rejet the carbs over winter to match the pods and get the carbs synced. Now the next step, relocate or bypass the ignition switch. I'm sick and tired of the bike quitting when the switch gets heated. I love this bike, but Yamaha really screwed the pooch on some of the designs on this generation. I have already relocated the fuel filter. Good thing I'm retired and have the time to do this shite! I'll let yall know how the pod things goes.
  27. I certainly couldn’t do it. Especially now but probably never could have.
  28. I bought an economy, long range scope based on a couple YouTuber's reviews a couple months ago. When I received it, I was impressed with the apparent build quality so I decided I would build a new long range whole punch to go under it. I was considering my options and leaning toward a Ruger Precision Rifle in .308. It looks to be a great system out of the box and reasonably priced, though still expensive. While down in VA for a family reunion, I found a new bang stick shop and spent a few hours trading lies and drooling on their stock when the proprietor asked me what I would say if he could show me .308ish ballistics from an AR15 platform. He then went on to educate me on the 6mm ARC from Hornady. After a few minutes googling the round, I decided to buy the parts to build a Upper in 6mm ARC. After gathering everything up, the nice young man offered to assemble the upper free of charge. BONUS! I ended up with an Aero Precision upper receiver(no forward assist) and Aero Precision 12.5 M Lock forearm with a Ballistic Advantage 18" barrel, rifle length gas tube and adjustable gas block. Capped with the Silencer Co. QD muzzle device. OH, some nice Trump 2024 graphics on the dust cover. Here it is mounted on my Fight! lower with the 30cal JK suppressor and Magpul bipod.
