Metal Stabbing My Left Leg 2007 Midnight

I asked a Yamaha rep about those pieces one day at Bike week in Daytona Beach, he told me the left one was designed to deflect gas away from the hot exhaust in the event the tank was over filled. He got a little upset with me when I pointed out to him that their display bike had the left and right sides swapped. He scurried right over to bike to confirm and then found a tech to fix it. Anyway I see no reason why you cannot remove it if it bothering you. I remember burning my legs on those round guard rails they had on the original Royal Stars heads. -

Looks to be a heat deflector, but seeing as you are now old enough not to be producing as much heat as to when you were of a younger age it probably won't effect the engine at all. Or you could just cut part of it off and have a unique look to you machine. - Yesterday

This has been bothering me since I bought the bike and now is the time to address it. Left side of seat there is a bracket that extends past the base of the seat. This bracket is a pain in my thigh.. Can anyone tell me if it is required or can i remove it? It is mounted with 2 screws that are removable and aren't holding anything else.

Bought a used 2007 rsv and there are some parts that are missing that I am looking to put back on it one is the stereo controls that mount to the handlebar previous owner removed tourpack cut wires off that went to your pack and apparently removed the stereo controller as well just seeing if anyone out there has one sitting around from a scrapped out one maybe

Here is a link to one article about one of the converted Royal Stars, but not a Venture model. https://www.motorcyclecruiser.com/custom-yamaha-royal-star-with-heart-v-max-from-archives/

I would stay away from the high output stators, I put one in my first 1999 venture. I replaced the engine after only about 10,000 miles and when I checked the stator it had burned half of the stator, looked as bad as the one that I replaced with at least 70,000 miles on it. Higher output equals more heat.

In the 80's, I had the magazine containing the article with the first conversion that I had heard of creating the Venture Max. Unfortunately, the memory chip in my brain has deleted what magazine issue it was from. Can anyone help an old guy out?

stay away from the chinese crap! your better off to pay a little more for us stuff or mother yamaha stuff. i've not had much luck lately with china crap! just my opinion!🤔

Ya don't see that everyday. Someone had a first gen and too much time on their hands. Not diggin' it.

Nope. I don't need a stator, at least not yet. I was thinking of getting a replacement stator / gasket to keep handy in case of failure, which seems to sometimes happen, and usually at a bad time. I see there's stators readily available online, but prices are all over the map. What should I look for and what should I avoid? Opinions appreciated.

Hmmmmmm. Not even sure what I think.

Yea it’s running fine but I’d have to look it up but I think I saw something that had you changing them at some ridiculous point but hey I’m not a mechanic. Thanks
-
I used to put new plugs in my '83 and '86 every year, but I haven't changed the plugs in my '06 RSV since 2019.

Hey don’t know but I remember seeing something about the spark plug intervals and seemed like you don’t get a lot of miles out of the plugs . Is it really necessary to change them this frequently. I just hate taking off all that stuff to get to them , are the videos really correct that you have to remove the fuel tank to get them out ? I have a 2004 midnight venture . Thanks
