  1. Today
  2. I have a 2002 RVS, with 135k and my rear brakes are soft and will not slide rear tire. I put new rotary on rear app 40k miles ago when I put on new tire, and they were a little soft but would slide wheel if I tried. About 16k miles ago I put on new rear tire and when I got it back together they, I bled the brakes, but they were a little softer than the last time, but I could still slide rear if I tried. I just put on another rear tire. This time I use a 1 man vacuum bleeder and still pump brake to bleed them the best I can. When rode today I could not get the rear brakes to slide the tire. It has stopping power but very soft. Now the rotor that I put on was an after-market. I notice my old OEM rotor was app 7mm thick and was worn down to 4mm. The new after-market rotor was only 4mm thick brand new. Do you think this is my problem. Any help and advice will be appreciated. thank you
  3. You go, Mrs. Steve! I’m looking forward to the day when Mrs. Pastor Curt tells me that same thing!😃😃😃

  5. Everything happens for a reason. Make it happen. Ride safe.
  6. My wife and I came down the Blairsville GA for the Vogal Venture Rally. I rode my Venture and she rode the Spyder. She has only had a license to ride for a week and did some riding around our home area. On the way to Blairsville, her FIRST trip on it, she told me I was to keep myself OFF of it. If I wanted a trike, I could go buy another one!!!!! Sooooooo, I guess I will be looking for another trike if I feel I must have one. BUT, I am very comfortable riding the Venture alone, so it may be a while before I buy anything else. 😁
  7. Patricia and I made it down. Several people down and dodging the random rain storms.
  8. I don't know personally. I have seen reports online of people getting flats with their run flat and not noticing at 40 MPH. There's a Facebook group I'm in for Dark siding that's pretty good. guys are helpful and no drama. https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1Y3X5dNi16/
  9. Getting ready to head out now.
  10. I am looking for a 156x80x15 run flat for my 2002 RSV. If anybody knows of one please let me know. thank you
  11. I run 165x80x15 on my 2002 RSV, and get 25k. love it
  12. I got 16k on my 1st nexen, 165x80x15. Was impressed with it. I put 10k on it in 2 trips and 23 states, rode dragon tail and mounts 1000s of miles. Love the way it handles. Had flat and will have to change because side wll damage fron a nail.
  13. I love my 98 RSTD, but the issues continue. The bike idles great with the choke in, when warmed up it idles great...until it gets heated up. Once I've ridden for about half an hour or so, when I gear down the idle goes wild, revving very high. I have turned down the idle screw but to no avail. While riding it sounds great. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
  14. Last week
  15. I run tires in the 70 to 90 dollar range and am satified.
  16. How will the G-force hold up if you have a flat???? Will it stand without air till you can get it fixed??? Have you let air out while standing to see if it holds up.
  17. I got 40k on a front shinko. great tire
  18. I have worn dunlaps out at 4500 miles and regulat bike tires out around 8 to 10k. I got 40k out of a shinko on my front, took it off because started to get a little wobble in handle bars, still had good tread. Put on another shinko, great tire in my opnion.
  19. I have been lookking for a run flat for my 2002 RSV, size 165x80x15, but can not find one. I would love to try one if I can find one.
  20. I used a Federal 674 from walmart and got 25k, then put on nexen and had flat at 16k and tire still looked like new, It has hole on edge of side wall, when I pluged it, it made a bludge in side wall. Will not trust it, will put new tire on. I just put on a Peltas tire that I ordered. Have not ridden it yet.
  21. Did ride the '06 double dark. I'm not double dark on the 2018 either. On it I still run the factory model. 45K miles and only 3rd front. Which I don't mind the mileage on the front. The back was killing me. I did the factory model as the second tire on the back and only go 5100 miles before having to replace it. Complained to the shop and they agreed to prorate the 3rd with a factory model and got 6000 miles on it. That's wen I pulled the trigger on the g-force. BTW: I believe the G-Force has a run flat that some use on the 2018 and newer.
  22. Got back home last Friday from Sturgis Motorcycle Rally on the bike. 970 miles in two days!!,and yesterday afternoon I was rotating tires on the car and checking tire pressures. I thought “why don’t I do all the vehicles as long as I have everything out?” So I crawled under the right saddlebag to check the rear tire and found the muffler hanging down. I had lost the rear mounting bolt and rubber isolator. So I dig around in my treasures and come up with a suitable replacement and voila!, she is up and running again!
  23. Voltage reg is common on the second gens. Stater or stater connections are also worth checking.
