OK see if I can explain this. Some of you will remember my accident. End result is still haven't got settlement from the little Insurance he did have. Time is about to run out. My time frame expires June 14th they claim. 2 yrs from accident. Thing is no lawyer wants this. They say there is no money in it for them. I have gotten them to agree on the medical. They will pay full amount of their policy. And gotten the hospital down to pennies on the dollar. If I release them and the DRIVER from ANY other actions. Them I can understand but release him and he hits Powerball next week? They have not tried to make property settlement. I'm getting there with them but need time to work out kinks. Do I have to completely release him?? And I need to work on property. I want 4k for the "Blue Beast" She was famous wasn't she? And I want paid for all my gear that was cut off. Plus my helmet. I also lost 1500 hours of "Sick Leave" I had saved for Retirement trade. I think what I'm asking is, Do I have to release him completely and what do I have to do to get time extended quickly now. Just got my health Insurance ( which really took a hit on this to drop lein yesterday that would have taken almost all I could get. Now I've fooled around and got myself in bind trying to do this without lawyer. If I pay lawyer I won't come out with anything. Should I try to get it extended or grab what I can? And how do I get it extended??

So now that the power plant is back in after the second gear issue, I start up the scoot to hear it run and check out that the tranny is humming nicely. Replaced clutch basket with one that is not broke, used the same fricton plates that were in there from last year, then brand new, and now I discover that the clutch will not release. Checked for air in the clutch lines, again and again and for sure there is nothing but fluid there, handle feels good with very little play. Took apart the whole clutch assembly again and again, checked and re-checked, all seems good. Started 'er up and let it get warm and tried again, no luck, so now I'm typing my way to a solution, hopefully. Any bright ideas? No extra parts in the coffee can yet at this point.

Ok, after lurking here for two months, have not found anything on my problem. Scenario - Cuising at 60 on open highway. Left hand clicks the dash switch to ON. The "ON" and "SET" indicators both come on. Right thumb push and release the "set/decel" button. "SET" indicator goes off. I release the throttle. Then the weird thing. The bike slows down 5-6 mph, then accelerates back up to the set speed. Then all is good again. This tends to upset those following me. Anybody else had this? Please confirm this is not normal before I scream like a little girl when the dealer says "that is normal on that madel". sorry, I am a nosmiley

Was down at one of the local dealers here in Houston today. Got to talking to one of the salespeople about the Venture and when is Yamaha going to dump the tape player and go with a CD changer? Well he said that when they were at the annual shindig that Yamaha has the rep said to take a good look at the '08 because that was going to be the end of the Venture as we know it now. I tried to pry more info out of him but he said that is all he knows right now. Said they will probably see what Yamaha is going to do in Sep. this year and will probably have a release date Feb. '09. I said,"oh, a new first gen", and he said it will definately be a new and different look than what they have now. I guess we can always dream tho. Don H.
