  1. Well, I now have my own embarrassing moment I swore would not happen to me. My wife woke me up at 5 AM, which is about 40 minutes late, and asked me if I was going to work. I immediately jumped out of bed and cursed the alarm clock (which I forgot to set) and went about my business of getting ready to go, in a hurry. I grabbed my lunch out of the fridge and headed out to the garage and boarded my brand new 08 RSV. Of course, being the reliable scoot that they are, it fired right up and I was on my way. All went well for the first seven miles, till I got to the last stop light before getting on I-24. I still had another 23 miles to ride. While waiting for the light to turn green, my trusty RSV just quit running. I stared at the instrument panel in amazement and wonder and thought what the @!#%$ is wrong with this thing. It has always ran perfect! Of course it only has 2000 miles on it, but it has been a very dependable 2000 miles. When I hit the start button, all the lights would come on like they should but the starter would not even turn over. I pushed the bike over to the side of the road and the only thing I could think of is a bad fuse. I proceded to take the battery cover off and about that time a fellow on a Star rode up and offered to help. I told him my problem as I continued to remove the seat. Just as I lifted the seat off, he told me to try to start it now. I turned the key on, hit the start button and it fired off before it made a complete rotation. Amazing I thought. It must have been a coupling loose under the seat and when I removed the seat it jarred it enough to make contact. No, that wasn't it the Star rider informed me. All he did was turn the kill switch OFF!!!!! Well I be !@#$#!@@$#@. And I'm already late for work too. EMBARRASSING!!!!!! I made it to work with no other problems other than being later. Glenn
  2. I haven't looked real close yet, but does anyone know off-hand if the OEM windshield on the 4 pipe TDs & TCs of the late 90's is supposed to be quick disconnect?
  3. Here is a slide show of our trip to Myrtle Beach during Bike Week 2008. I know it's late, but for some reason I procrastinate. There are two Ventures in here, one with a different back rest, passenger seat, and passenger arm rests. If anybody has any info it would be cool to find out where they came from. It was great seeing SleeperHawk and Mechanic there. We had a great day together. You have got to see the....... I'm not sure how to describe it, well you will know when you see it. http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd227/SaltyDawg83/Myrtle%20Beach%202008/?albumview=slideshow
  4. This crap just really irritates me, I would like to know how they got my full name. I only use it for official documents I never ever have used my full name on anything that was not a legal document. I never do those chain e-mails (getting to know you) that ask questions of what I am wearing or time I get up. The sender says just for fun "tell me about yourself" and its always someone I know sending the crap and they put way to much info on it. To bad there is no real recorse. But on the bright side I can get 3.4 mil if I give him more info. Also am holding out for the PCH and Ed McMann's knock on my door........................................Ron Dear My full name, I am 'Rahman Bin Zaman, an attorney at law. A deceased client of mine who died on December 2004, my client, his wife and their three children were involved in the tsunami disaster on the 26th December 2004 in Sumatra Indonesia. I have contacted you to assist in distributing the money left behind by my Late client before it is confiscated or declared un-serviceable by the Bank where this deposit valued at Three Million four hundred thousand United State dollars is lodged, [$US 3.4m]. This Bank has issued me a notice to contact the next of kin, or the account will be confiscated. If you are familiar with private banking affairs, those who patronize it usually prefer anonymity, but also some levels of detachment from conventional processes. In his bio-data form, he listed no next of kin. In another year, if a next of kin is not located to inherit the fund, the Estate will revert back to the Bank's accounting system as "unclaimed" ; My late client's with no known or identifiable family member. This leaves me as the only person with the full picture of what the prevailing situation is in relation to the deposit. My proposition to you is to seek your consent to present you as the next-of-kin and beneficiary of my late client, since you have the same last name with my late client, so that the proceeds of this account can be paid to you. Then we can share the amount on a mutually agreed-upon percentage. All legal documents to back up your claim as my client's next-of-kin will be provided. All I require is your honest cooperation to enable us see this transaction through. I guarantee that this will be executed under a legitimate arrangement that will protect you from any breach of the law. Please contact me at once to indicate your interest. I will like you to acknowledge the receipt of this e-mail as soon as possible via email. I would love to have your phone contact in order to discuss more on this transaction. However, this will be treated private with absolute confidentiality and sincerity. I look forward for your urgent reply Best regards, 'Rahman Bin Zaman Esq.

  7. since the south texas pgr ride capt, already made this public info. i guess it can't hurt to explain here, what has happened. my brother Ron,(rattlesnake), lost all of his worldly possessions, Tuesday night/wed morning, in a house fire.he and all his family, are safe and sound, thanks to the most generous, and caring townspeople in the world. the power company's wiring, coming into the house, shorted out and started the fire. firemen /neighbors, were on the scene, within 10 minutes, but couldn't put any water on the house, because of the live wires jumping and popping. ONE HOUR after the first of THREE phone calls, a serviceman, finally arrived and killed the power at the transformer. by then, it was too late. fifteen water hoses, couldn't save the house. like i already said, he has NO urgent needs, at this time, however a prayer or two might be useful, if you have any to spare. thanks for listening. just jt p.s. i forgot to mention , all his vehicles and bikes were move to a safe distance, thanks to ron's riding buddy raul! jt.

  9. I am glad you got the new ride.I almost started bidding on it myself but did not because did't know how I would have gotten it home. Also I would never have thought b4 hand to make sure I was not bidding against a member untill to late.
  10. I was traveling on 377 north out of Granberry Texas today 6/23/07. A nice gentlemen pulled up beside me on a 99 venture and he spoke to me. I had ear plugs in , but I acknowledge, the light turned green, we rode of and got on 20 east and kind of rode together a while. I was late for an appointment and could not stop. If you see this post, let me know. Very nice bike you were riding.

    Estes Park

We made this trek this summer- an absolutely unforgetable ride. Hwy 34 East out of loveland/Ft Collins area. Make the trip in the AM so you can enjoy the climb and decent. The mountains tend to cloud up and give late afternoon showers.
