    PTT Button

Okay since I got the bike in the fall of 05 and the novelty oy listening to the CB wore off (quickly) I haven't used the CB,now 38000 km later one of the guys that rides with got a Vision and we tried talking to each other but my Ptt button doesn,t work we had to communicate via my wife on the back. I sprayed contact cleaner in (from outside) no change,do I have to take it all apart and clean or replace anything and will anything fall apart when I remove the housing. . Ron

  6. This area is one of Western New York's famous Wine regions, along the shores of Lake Erie to the south. Sure smelled like grapes today!! Managed to come home with a trunk full of full wine bottles... MRAF, we turned around in Ripley but I couldn't remember where you said your place was. We turned right off or 20 at the light and went over to Rt5 and headed north again. Absolutely gorgeous day for an early fall ride. Leaves are just beginning to turn, and should be in full color for the Fall Floage ride coming up on the 13th (see the Other Events forum for details)...
  7. This weekend I ran into my Blue Knights Chapter at a charity run, I haven't had a chance to ride with them much in the past few years. Boy was I surprised to see a bunch of Ventures in the crowd. One of the guys has a 2000 red RSV, and he has the Krome werks exhaust on it, boy did I fall in love when he started it up!! I dont think Im even gonna trry the HD exhaust that's waiting in my garage. Anyone know where I can get the best deal on them??
  8. I had posted this prior to the crash and thought it might be helpful to anyone owning a Carbtune so here it goes again; I've owned a Morgan Carbtune for a couple of years now and used it quite a few times with no problem, until today. I could not get consistent readings, the rods would rise and fall with changes in throttle settings but two rods would not change their positions at idle in response to adjusting the balancing screws. In other words, when I turned the adjusting screws only one rod on each bank would rise or fall, the other rod would just stay fixed, making proper balancing impossible. I removed the Carbtune, took it over to my workbench and removed the bottom cover, opposite the hoses, I removed the rods one at a time, polished the rods with a cotton cloth, I then inserted a Q-tip into each of the brass rod bushings, a surprising amount of black residue came out of each rod bushing. I reassembled the Carbtune, hooked it back to the bike and tried it again, this time all the rods moved smoothly and I was able to sync the carbs. From now on I'm going to make cleaning my Carbtune a first step in syncing my carbs, it only takes about 10 minutes and guarantees a correctly operating piece of equipment.
