  1. Yes you did surprise me So I guess you'all are stuck with me...
  2. Yes -- I am already on both of them. Thanks.
  3. That is good to know. I may eventually pick up another but enjoying the VTX 1300 that I just picked up...
  4. Just sold my 85 Venture Royale so I will be saying goodbye to this group. Thanks to everyone for the help provided. Drive safe and enjoy everyone! Scott
  5. Thank you gents -- guess that explains why I could not find how to check it lol... I'll drain some of the oil out and see what happens. Scott
  6. I am feeling rather foolish to have to ask this -- but I don't have a Clymers manual for my 85 Royale as of yet... I need to check the trany fluid level -- and my feeble brain can't figure it out. I had noticed some leakage about a week and a half ago after bringing the bike up to where I am staying during the week. It was on the right side dripping off the exhaust pipe -- which was strange since it was leaning left on the kick stand. It did not leak directly after parking it, but a few days later after having sat without being run. It has since stopped the leaking... I do have it on the center stand now and the engine oil is very near the top line in the sight glass so I don't think it was engine oil unless that had been over filled. The coolant is where it should be (don't think it was coolant anyway) so the only thing left is the transmission... Would someone point a quasi weekend mechanic in the right direction? Thanks Scott
  7. Thank you Kevin. This gives me an idea on what I need to get and where it has to go. Appreciate it. Scott
  8. I'll look into it -- any suggestions on where to find the parts? Bikebandit, etc?? Thanks. Scott
  9. Thanks. Looks like they have been removed then. I'll have to see about getting the parts to hook them back up. Nothing up front at all and have checked the back for the passenger and it just isn't there. Scott
  10. Don't have the headsets - didn't come with the bike so will have to get a set. But I guess my question would be better phrased -- where do they get plugged in?
  11. Since I just picked up this 85 Royale I have a question regarding the "intercom". The intercom shows on the audio controls but I do not see any plugs for it for the head gear. Is there any easy way to tap in, or for that matter to actually know if they bike is equipped with an intercom system? newbie thanks you Scott
  12. I may not have to do the seat or progressives -- might be OK as it is right now. I might look at the seat down the line but it is ridable and comfortable now Just want to get to riding it... Scott
  13. Would a 55x99 pole barn be big enough??
  14. The boots make all the difference in the world! With just me on the bike I can now place both feet flat on the ground. With a bike this heavy it makes me feel a lot better Thanks to all -- now for some nice long rides... Scott
  15. Having someone on the back makes a great deal of difference! With my wife on the back and the air adjusted I can get both feet flat on the ground...still going to try some more adjustments to the air before I go for the seat change. At 5'7" and 150 lbs I have to do sumpin Scott
  16. Thanks - that is what I thought. I'll try boots first since I have been wearing my tennies... Appreciate it. Let me know how the lowered seat works out for you. Scott
  17. 85 Royale that I would like to lower slightly -- but from what I am seeing in the forums is a different seat the only way? I am a little on the "shorter side" and with the bike sitting straight I have the balls of my feet on the ground. Would like a little more than that but can get by -- just wondering what the options are. Thanks in advance. Scott
