  1. Just a slight edit to your words Jack .... otherwise, love your comment LOL
  2. Not meaning any disrespect here but.... seeing as you are so adamant about this, stop and think a while .... do you honestly and truthfully ALWAYS obey every rule and law to the "T" .... no exceptions? ... now think hard before you answer.... I do agree with you tho that folks have become very lax and don't obey the rules of the road to the letter anywhere near what they should or for that matter, used to do years ago and it does make our driving experience much more dangerous. That being said, it wasn't crossing the double yellow line that was the cause of the accident...that really has nothing to do with it IMHO. There was sufficient room ahead for a pass .... it's just that both tried to do it at the same time. Very interesting comments here!
  3. Considering where a large part of lottery money goes (at least around here), buying into it could also be considered as a person's charitable donation or donation to some other worthy cause which, without support from the lotteries, those programs, etc might not exist. Having said that tho does not necessarilly suggest that I whole-heartedly agree on how they disburse the moneys, beit operating costs or otherwise. I also don't feel that large winnings to the tune of 20-30-100 plus millions of dollars should be won by just one person. NOBODY needs that kind of money. There should be a limit...say 10 mil and anything over that is split. For example... if the prize is between 10 and 20 mil then one draw for 10 mil and another draw for the balance. If the prize is between 20 and 30 mil, then 2 draws each for 10 mil and a 3rd for the balance, etc...... in other words, spread the wealth around a bit. 3 people with 10 mil each will spend more than one person with 30 mil and thus enhance the economy (somewhere LOL). EDIT: ... and ... NO, I am not giving you any of my winnings over 10 mil!!! LOL
  4. I agree with you agreeing with his disagreeing that he's agreeing with your agreement...!!!

Almost every day when I come to work, I sit down at this computer with every intention of doing work ... but since I am usually here early, I come to this site and..... holy crap!! where did the day go? ... dang, I didn't do a lick of work all day!! ...
  6. congrats to your son!! We have 2 lotterys here that I play ... Lotto 649 and LottoMax. I don't usually buy tickets unless the payout is 10 mil or more. I made an exception to that yesterday (payout was 7 mil for 649) and I ... WON!!!! ... a lump sum of $10 I never used to buy tickets for lotto until about 5 years ago ... started buying one whenever I felt the urge ... maybe once or twice a month... or not. Now, it's practically every week and on top of that, I'm in on the office lotto pool ... it's no wonder I have no money!!
  7. Speaking of Colas .... when I was 8 yrs old I lived in a small town in Saskachewan (Tisdale if anyone is familiar) and I recall the rage at that time was KickCola (or was it KikCola?) .... anyone recall that?

Age-Activated Attention Deficit Disorder [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6oHBG3ABUJU]Age-Activated Attention Deficit Disorder - YouTube[/ame] Previously posted excluding the vid... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=54890
  11. I think his first mistake was not paying attention to what the car driver was doing. The biker was intent on getting past the cars and catching up with his buddies and failed to notice in time that the car was crossing the line .... a good indicator that he's going to pass. The biker was late reacting and when he did, he panicked and locked the rear and had no realization of his available escape route. He's a young, inexperienced rider, there's no doubt about that. Hopefully he learned a good lesson from this albeit a hard way to learn. As for crossing the double line.... it seems to me (from the vid) that this road is double-line pretty much all the way. Sure, yer not supposed to pass on a double line but when on roads like this and following slow-pokes, one does tend to "take a chance" when it appears safe enough... I know I have and I've done it many times over the years. Illegal... sure .... but if that's the worst illegal thing a person ever does, what's the big deal? It only becomes an "issue" if you get into a situation such as in the vid. The ability and agility of a motorcycle to pass a vehicle far exceeds that of a cage. On a bike, we can maneouver quicker, accelerate quicker, and have a lot more room to do so. As such, riders will pass slower cages at the first opportunity. Experience does not necessarilly make you a non-aggressive rider but it does tend to save your butt if/when you get into a "dicey" situation such as the rider in the vid. I've had similar situations either during a pass attempt or a cage changing lanes. In most, if not all of those, what has saved my butt was experience, being aware of the "indicators" of other drivers and anticipating their actions... it's a lesson for all "inexperienced" riders to learn .... awareness and keeping your cool. The other part is knowing your bike and knowing how to handle it in "emergency" situations such as in the vid.
  12. If you "step" thru it, you'll see that his back tire is locked up and smoking almost to the point where he goes down.
  13. ... if you got caught in this situation, how would you have handled it and avoided going down? (happens appx 2:05 in the vid) also, who do you feel is at fault (one or the other...) [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KoQCLW1jVDo&feature=player_embedded]motorcycle crash part 2 - YouTube[/ame]
  14. Not sure if we can get that up here in Can Nuh Duh ... but I'll look for it. I have tried other spiced rums but I much prefer Demerara which comes in the brand of Lemon Hart. It's from Guyana. I found a couple other dark rums I really like but for the life of me I can't remember what they are .... imported stuff from Jamaica I think .... maybe it was the rum that caused me to loose my memory...
  15. No biggie if chosen for the taste. Guess I should clarify ... folks ordering "diet" drinks because they're thinking they are cutting down on their calorie intake ... and then gorge themselves on other food high in calories. As for me, I lean towards the caffein-free Coke coz the only time I drink Coke is with my rum and that is generally in the evening. That way I can still get to sleep and have less of a hangover in the AM
  16. apparently you have experienced this ... (apparently, since I know what you're talking about... I have too! )
  17. Of course it does .... now why didn't I think of that ??
  18. Something to consider.... http://blog.fooducate.com/2010/10/18/which-is-better-for-me-coke-or-diet-coke/ http://askville.amazon.com/calories-coke-versus-diet/AnswerViewer.do?requestId=235770 What I find interesting about people is that they will insist on drinking "only diet Coke" (for example) and then turn around and gorge themselves with everything else that is full of sugars and fats ...
  19. Oftentimes it's the bottling giant (Coke or Pepsi) that is dictating who's product is being carried by a particular establishment. Once one "gets in", the establishment operator is stuck to some kind of contract that says they can't carry the "other guy's" products.
  20. I honestly don't know coz somebody else owns it now... ... and my Wing has everything already!
  21. ... well, now you will know ! ... eh [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ei3rTITyOhY]Santa's A Canadian - YouTube[/ame]
  22. So now ya tell me ... (AFTER having us over for dinner)
  23. I received my w/s Friday and installed it yesterday. According to Clearview, there is a 1" scratch appx 2" down and 3" left of center. Gosh ... they got better eyes than I do! LOL ... well, I can see it but it is so faint it's almost not there.
  24. Actually, I have a drop point in Blaine ... I could have had it shipped to there but ..... yanno, kinda like condor says .... I thought about it and figgured .... how much will I really use this .. not a lot and frankly, I have other things that take priority for my $135 ... like RUM 'n RIBS or something LOL Plus, we have a nice little camera that takes pretty good video so I just couldn't justify spending the money on another camera.
  25. Tried to buy one .... the form suggests "State/Province/Region" yet doesn't have a choice for British Columbia, Canada ... yet it asks for a "Postal Code" ... not a Zip code which would be the usual case for USA. :confused24:
