  1. Same here, didn't know there were specific shirts. I just thought after seeing the other site that it would be cool to have a t-shirt with a VR on it. I was kinda thinking that if the shirt had a 1st Gen on it, maybe, just maybe someone riding a 2nd Gen might be able to go faster.. What stated this mess is that I really want to get my wife the Sexy Grandma shirt but it takes 10 orders to print them. Sorry Tom. Hey, at least you got a little shirt publicity out of this thread
  2. I wasn't trying to step on any toes. I had seen some t-shirts for specific gatherings, but never a generic Venture Rider shirts. What is available and how much ? Venturing minds want to know
  3. I have been watching this site for a while and have ordered a shirt from it. They are good quality. They way I understand it is that you can design a shirt and then if they get enough orders they will print them. They call it a "campaign". Two things: One is it would be cool if we had an artist among us who could take the venture design and create a shirt with a cool saying and have it submitted. Maybe the "profit" that is made from the sales can be used to help out members that have financial issues now and then. http://teespring.com/about Go to the link below and type Motorcycles in the SEARCH box to get to the other bike shirts available. I could not figure out how to link directly to them . Here's the shirt I have been trying to buy for my wife, but there hasn't been enough other buyers. ( order one so I can get her one ! ) http://teespring.com/Motorcycle-Riding-Grandma-Tee7?utm_source=sendwithus&utm_medium=transactional&utm_campaign=relaunch-u1&utm_content=reservation_promo_code&utm_swu=687 ( MODS - if this shouldn't be here, sorry do what you have to)
  4. Do you have any part numbers, cost info, contact info on the company ? Sounds like a good thing to replace mine with.
  5. Wow, just read this thread. Dan, best wishes for a speedy recovery. That equates to a 1st gen recovery..fast! I have a feeling that you were not wearing your pink riding slippers and probably on your 2nd Gen. We need to get you back into the safe world of the 1st Gen. Heal fast and painless buddy. Take care.
  6. It's just one of the penalties for gettin' a 2nd Gen.....
  7. They just kept coming in waves and waves... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8NdIKH4_ns&feature=youtu.be
  8. Another video since you can only do one per post https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bo5SFsdtciI&feature=youtu.be
  9. I am working another 2 month TDY in Washington DC and last Thursday I was really bummed out that I was missing a PGR Mission that I have attended the last two years. The southern Run for the Wall always stops outside of Tucson for fuel and I have joined our PGR group for a flag line to welcome and send off the riders. It then dawned on me.... they are coming here! I may not see them off, but I could see them arrive !! So taking a break from my work functions.. I first made a stop at Arlington to visit a young friend that 3 years ago gave his ultimate sacrifice in Afghanistan. Sgt. Brian L. Walker, US Army Military Police. He served with my daughter and became a close friend of our family including marrying a close friend of my daughter's, Ashley. This was my second visit ( http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?99977-Arlington-Overwhelming-and-impacting ) Anyway, There were several hundred bikes that arrived at Arlington National while I was there this morning. I have to tell you, every time I step onto the grounds at Arlington, I get this weird goose bump chilled feeling that tells me what an awesome, yet sad place this is. As I walked the mile to and from Brian's resting place, I saw many young females just sitting in front of a white headstone. one after another. I didn't take any pictures out of respect for them and their private time, but you could sense the loss and sadness. One of the sobering parts of every visit is when you see the new fresh ground and the temporary markers. This means that there is more families now living with the loss. After leaving Arlington, I drove to DC. There the bikes were arriving, hundreds and hundreds of bikes.. the pictures do not do it justice. The term Rolling Thunder doesn't adequately describe the rumble that permeates the air and the ground. [video=youtube;k1E326Tk8-g]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1E326Tk8-g&feature=youtu.be It was a pretty awesome experience. :7_2_104[1]:
  10. Lanster, Don't take it personal at all. Everybody here is just having fun teasing each other. This topic has come up numerous times and starts the BSing all over, just like asking what tire to buy, or oil to use or why 2nd Gens are so much slower than a 1st Gen. They weren't attacking you, just the subject that keeps coming up about a possible 3rd Gen. So take a deep breath ( make sure Cowpuc's down wind) and relax. It isn't directed at you at all. Just a topic. After reading/responding to this I found another recent thread about the same thing: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?102651-If-it-turns-out-to-be-true-would-ya
  11. Well I have been quiet since I have been out of town working in the DC Area Feb-April and are heading back Saturday to DC for 2 more months. With the work load and the computer time in the evenings on reports, not a lot of time to post, but I always try to check in and read what is going on. I hope we get a 3rd Gen Venture...what fun it will be to harass...I mean joke, with the wannabe 2nd AND 3rd Gens
  12. Hey Brian, Glad to see you back into the Venture game. Now take you time getting back into the riding comfort zone. Been a long time since your accident adVenture so take it slow and glad you are still going forward !
  13. In the daylight drive to the same spot and look at the houses around there and see if anybody has a video camera system in front of their house. It is becoming more common to have external video tied into their security system. Just a thought.
  14. The $64,000 question is "how are you today ?" I had a family friend that used to stuff jalapenos with tuna fish. My first thought was gross. Then i tried them. Addicted after first bite. Every party she had them at. I ate and ate and enjoyed them to the end. THEN..tomorrow always came. And all I can say is the "outcome" was a lot hotter, and harder then the initial enjoyment. But, I always ate them, with my wife warning and reminding me of the history.....
  15. Absolutely !! You just won't know what sex, mammal, fish or insect them virgins will be !!
  16. :sign yeah that::sign yeah that:
  17. If you put 2nd Gen parts on a 1st Gen you will lose your Obama Care, get audited by the IRS, raided by the EPA and worst of all, have a slower 1st Gen
  18. Add the jealousy aspect and I am surprised it's not puking oil too !
  19. Yea... I should have waited until his third, or fourth post until I broke the news to him. My Bad !!
  20. Exactly. Thanks. I guess I did not scroll down far enough on that page.
  21. When you join, and you will join, there are a few rules you have to follow. First is no bike really exists unless you post pictures of it. Second, put your bike year in the header under your name so when you ask questions we know right away what year you have. If you do not do those two things, we will hunt you down, take your bike and leave you a Honda...or worse, a slower 2nd Gen. Welcome and good luck with the bike.
  22. Sorry to hijack this thread...(OK no I'm not) where are the stuck threads that were available for 1st Gens ? There were some of the (archived?) threads that were worth keeping and I remember them all being in a directory or page together, but I can not find them now. Any help
  23. i don't know if You have 1Roosters bike on there, but since it is now my son-in-laws 1986, here is the VIN JYA1NL006GA001404
  24. It is a very common occurrence since it is not a leak when you go to Phoenix , it's your bike telling you it's "pissed" that you keep dragging it to that hell hole.
