  1. Waiting for your apology ! After getting EVERYBODY on the site excited about your generosity, ...you have let us down with your inability to purchase the winning ticket. We had faith in you ! Instead, we all had to go to work still owning only our old scoot. HOW could you do that to people you call your friends ?? My heart is broken....what can I say.. OK...we still luv ya PUC...just don't let it go to your head....
  2. Hey Puc..Have I ever told you how much I respect you and consider you my Mentor for life ?
  3. Disney called. Production of the movie "Cowpuc and the Princess" starts next month. Harrison Ford has agreed to play Puc with Jennifer Lawrence playing Tip. 4 Sequels to follow. Watch out Star Wars...
  4. My 89 just had a problem with the CLASS and it appeared to fill then when I would either turn it off or turn it to start, it would lose air pressure. I didn't quite figure the problem since I repaired and replaced several things at the same time, but you can try the solder repair to the computer board first. Then try cleaning the connections and the solenoids in the CLASS system. Be very careful taking the solenoids apart as there is a very little spring that can quickly disappear.. Are you receiving any error code readings on the display like an E2 ?
  5. I hope these come through. It might help you a little. Also, try the carb cleaning and SeaForm soak before tearing them out. It could save you a lot of time and trouble. Also, the picture below of the two long pliers, if you have Harbor Freight close by, get that set ( about $10.00) they will be VERY handy for many jobs on the Venture. 6. So are all those parts really necessary for the bike to run properly ? If I cut it open, do I clean it out or fix it all up ? I know the carbs are temperamental with the air cleaner and air intake is tuned/calibrated, but is the exhaust also special in the fact that it has to have this crap in the crossover ? I know other pieces are someway loose as it rattles when I first start it and it is cold. Don't really hear it when it is warm.
  7. Also, check with your local laws. They are allowed in Arizona but I had heard in the past that some states don't allow them because only emergency vehicles can have "pulsating" lights. That may have changes in the last couple of years though.
  8. Yea, well we all hope to have a 1st Gen Like Brown Sugar...it gives us a goal and a bike to emulate..
  9. Thanks guys. Besides all the good info and help, harassing you Yammer, and Puc is worth every bit of $12.00... I hope you are doing well and have a very MERRY CHRISTmas and better New year !
  10. It's been fours since I brought this puppy home. ( Thanks FB for the Memories reminder) Been fun. Met friends. Joined PGR and Full Throttle Ministries. Lots of fun rides and help form people on this forum who I have never met in person. Have repaired a lot on the bike. Rebuilt and fixed front end, Progressive springs, new seals ( what a job that was !) Just did the rear shock and other maintenance to it "under there". Added some bling and lots of lights. The monkey, which I swore my bike would never have a stuffed animal was left over from one of my son's trips to Vegas and was laying around the garage. I put it on as a joke and my granddaughter loved it. She keeps asking for one for her dad's 86 Venture. It amazes me how many people have made a positive comment on the monkey so I have left it there for several years now. Been a fun ride on the forum, and on the streets...
  11. Great Video ! Wishing you both the best
  12. Find a piece of tubing so that once the plug is loose, slip the tubing over the top and spin the tubing which unscrews the plug. Also make it MUCH easier putting them back in using the tubing to start the threads without cross-threading.
  13. Wishing you both the best. We will keep you in our prayers. Take care of her !
  14. What year bike do you have ? I have two radiators off of an 84. I think they are the same for other years though ....
  15. Uhm.... I don't know what to say... We have never encountered a correct CowPuc. Having a correct CowPuc is like proving pigs like lipstick AND can fly, or that politicians never lie, or that 2nd Generations are faster bikes. Some things just never naturally occur and when they do, it is totally unexplainable. . We only let him on here because the Doctor said it was good therapy for him to be around other people, but how he keeps slipping his arm out of that "special" white jacket to type is another one of the unexplainable wonders.. I'm calling 20/20 and asking for a full investigation...
  16. WOW... somebody understood PUC ? ..and admitted it in public ??? I am .... I am..... I am... totally perplexed at that happening...
  17. Puc and I both want to know why you have such a big grin when that Deputy is frisking you ? Hey...just askin'....
  18. Great job ! looking forward to ride picts.
  19. Our local newspaper covered the Mission. Here are some more photos of the event.
  20. Mission completed. Had a very large turnout considering the cold weather and rain. Stood the flag line for over an hour and was honored to hold the U.S Coast Guard flag in the flag line. A rider on horseback delivered the Gold Star Mother's flag. A revolutionary (dressed) honor guard delivered the American flag, State of Arizona Flag and the Disabled American Veterans flag. Also had the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard and a 21 Gun Salute. What an humbling honor !
  21. Puc... Phoenix is in Arizona.... officially. But we don't claim it and really don't admit to it. It's like that crazy Uncle you hide in the closet when friends come over...ooops.. Sorry Puc..that's you... This year PGR and Full Throttle are helping in the laying of the wreaths here in Tucson. It's a very humbling and such an honor to do. My wife is going this year too.
  22. Hope these help Class E2.pdf CLASS repair.doc
  23. Four years ago in December, I bought my first Venture Royale. I found this site and asked a basic question on what to look for when buying a 1st Gen Venture. I wasn't a "paid" member, I had just joined as a trial member. I was on a business trip and had hauled along my trailer to look at a couple of Ventures for sale in the Phoenix area. Once I set up an appointment to go look at one, I posted a request on what to look for when buying one. The response was epic. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?65738-Things-I-would-Check! In fact that response from SkyDoc 17 made it to the the Tech Library fro others to use. I have many times forwarded a WORD version of it that I modified/formatted into a type of checklist using all the same information. After buying my 89 I had to disassemble my complete front end to install Progressives, change/install new fork seals and remove and lube the triple tree bearing. My bike was so far apart, my wife seriously asked if I was really going to be able to ever put it back together. I honestly did not know if I would/could. I then received a call from guy identifying himself as "ROCKET" from the Venture site. Rocket spent a lot of time on the phone walking me through many of the issues I was having on the re-assembling of my bike. Rocket called many times during, and after the bike was put back together. In fact, he just called out of the blue several days ago to just see how I was doing. I guess I should mention I eventually found out that he was calling from Canada. This site has saved me thousands of dollars and made me a better mechanic. Just this past couple of weeks I had to tear my whole back end apart to replace a shock and the job was really stressing me out. A member form this site, David-VideoArizona drove up to Tucson twice ( probably 100 mile R/T) to help me out. Spent most of a Saturday and then a Wednesday night taking apart bikes and putting them back together. Again, not sure I could have done it without him. This site is a treasure. In fact just today I got my renewal notice and I just paid it. SO..... we know that the site is good for another 12 months because if it disappears I will hire a gaggle of lawyers and sue a certain person back into existence !!! Putting my money where my typing fingers are:
  24. Well I guess at some point I will switch out the collector which I might do since I have another one I can prepare for replacement ahead of time. Then I can cut the old one open and see what is going on inside.
  25. So here are some clearer pictures of what I found in my exhaust pipe. Has anybody who has opened and repaired the exhaust crossover ever seen a piece that looks like this ? I have read somewhere that some guys have been able to remove a loose piece from the chamber without cutting it open. Does it look like this ?
