  1. If you do move the light bar forward be sure and extend the rubber bumpers on the bottom of the wind deflectors so that they stay in contact with the fork tubes. Rubber stoppers are available @ Lowes in the hardware section just drill a pilot hole in the rubber and replace bolt with stainless screw. Pick out a long rubber stopper so you can trim excess if needed.
  2. Doesn't the longhorn mounts mount to the same clamp as a set of pegs ? Point being you could purchase the pegs and clamps and install the Longhorns later if needed to spread out the cost. I'm 6'3'' and pegs and clamps work fine for me. You know spreading out the cost sometimes helps smooth it over with the wife. I know what your talking about with the hips but I haven't had that problem on the RSV.
  3. Glad you escape unscathed. Anyone else notice who was the first to stop to check on the biker. Don't know what transpired pre video but the biker was and idiot to taunt the cage.
  4. Yes But not after cleaning all of the connections under the fairing. Mine would eventually lock up all of the functions.
  5. OK I wasn't wrong thanks for saving my bacon That was a close one:rotf:
  6. No give me a minute V7goose has a write up about changing it. See if I can find it. But basically remove side cover on left side and work the filter up towards the top remove bottom hose and attach to new filter then work new filter back down a ways and attach top hose then push back in place. I think Here you go I was wrong it wasn't Goose http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=76515
  7. Chris has the bike had this noise since the day you bought it or is something that just started ? Warranty does not usually cover maintenance Items. If it just started making the noise you need to get all of the maintenance Issues resolved before you turn it over to a dealer just in case that is the problem and to eliminate those issues. Pull rear wheel and clean and lube drive pins. Lube drive shaft ends Change final drive lube and look for any metal fragments If it is the clutch whine try a different brand oil Mine didn't like the synthetic oil went back to dino oil Rotella 15w 40 and it definitely helped. It may indeed be the dreaded clutch whine but no need to pay the dealer to do those items and it turns out to be the problem.
  8. This is as good a place to look as any.
  9. Quit scaring the S!@# out of your passenger.
  10. So when is the relay to get it back to Cleveland. I would be happy to help return the trailer to it's rightful place.
  11. Isn't Pamela Anderson and Shania Twain canucks ?
  12. Hey it was great meeting you two and twice. It was such a coincidence seeing you and your wife while were out riding with friends last Sunday and then running into you at our favorite restaurant Friday and finally getting to talk to you. Thats like Karma or something isn't it. Look forward to seeing you at the Meet & Eat.
  13. You guys are over thinking this whole thing. Just do it you will love it. The speed pick up is on the pinion but 33 teeth on the ring gear is 33 teeth no matter what your using to turn it. So speed odometer will not change. Yes I have made the swap. I haven't seen any increase or decrease in MPG Just Miles Per Grin. This is a performance modification which happens to give some better MPG's the greatest benefit for me is pulling the trailer and I have no doubt that it lessens clutch wear and fatigue. Take off is so much smoother with or without trailer. When the fun wears off maybe I will make a 70 mph test.
  14. Hard to find those needed threads when your excited. Get yourself a progressive hand pump with a zero loss air chuck. Congrats on the new ride.
  15. I mean really where is the you tube video.
  16. You know cupcakes are suppose to have frosting but you don't have to be so generous with it.
  17. I like your version better never was much of a trekie but Body of Proof I like.
  18. Was looking at your pics again and just a thought. But most trailer manufacturers will sale you a set of fenders for your wheel size. They are usually fairly inexpensive and you can also get the inside fender well. No sense slinging rocks and mud all over what your hauling.
  19. I wood ( pun intended ) go with the 2x8 press. treated. The plywood would be strong enough and even though you stated press. treated plywood moisture could still get between the layers. IMHO the 2x8 would be more durable.
  20. I won't go back but if I ever trade Venture's the V- Max gears stay with me. I bought a rear end from a member who had Triked there's and had the gears installed in it. That way I can always swap it back if I trade or sale.
  21. That bitter feeling will be gone as soon as you hold Him or Her.
  22. You want a big improvement one you can feel in the throttle and the seat of the pants. Install a set of V-Max rear gears.http://rmsportmax.com/gateway.html
