Looks like its going to be cold here for the next 4 days, Put up wood for the wood stove cleaned the furnace stocked up with food and need a lot of that with a 16 year old in the house. No snow in the forecast so shouldn't have to go and plow, Good time to get caught up on all that's going on here on the site, Watch some movies and do some cleaning in the basement when I get bored setting around. Its been a pretty good winter so far that Flyinfool hasn't been able to do much with that machine of his and he must have done a good job on the door keeping that air from the north from getting down here, someone must have gotten it open a bit and is letting us have a feel of that nice cold air. The days are getting longer and nights are getting shorter and it wont be long and we can crank up the bikes and head down the road for a ride. Orlin

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from us here In Viroqua. -
Welcome back, and I agree on the new tires, Maybe you can make it to Viroqua if you are going to be out riding those Wisconsin roads. We do have a few gatherings here during the riding season and everyone is allways welcome. Orlin

We are good here just wet, the creek next to the campground is up out its banks, The Kickapoo River was at flood stage and coming up and we got a couple more inches this afternoon and more rain for tonight. The campground will be fine most of the water goes away from it am lucky the valley gets wider where we are so there is more room for the water, I will have a little clean up but not much. Fool must have done a good job on that door I don't see any real cold coming and not much for snow. This flooding in December doesn't happen around here we usually have snow up to our knees or higher.

Thunder storms and over 3 inch of rain last night the creeks are out of their banks:shock3: Is that snow machine of yours on the blink:think: Or did you get that door shut good and tight up north:canada: to keep that cold air up there.

we are around the 400 mark and have pulled the trailer and loaded down and have had no problems at all and don't ever feel that the bike feels over loaded or unsafe Just keep a close eye on the tire pressure front and rear. Tires are just a matter of choice, Just keep in mind the softer rubber tires do grip the road nice but you wont get the miles out of them as you will with a harder rubber tire. Orlin

I did some looking and as far as I can tell that Yamaha started putting the hose on the shock in 05 must be a vent for the shock. So I know that the shock has been replaced at some point after 05.
-
I am giving the bike a good going over and I took the rear fender off and there is a hose that comes out of the side of the shock and mounts to the fender. I have had others ask me what the hose is for and now that I know where it goes I am wondering the same thing. Its not the air line. I looked at the service manual and it does not show it. Do I have a after market shock on there or is there a difference in years I looked on ebay and seen one off a 07 with the hose. Orlin

I am glad to see that the site isn't going away that sure would be a bad day, We have met some great people threw this site and I would like to meet more, and the information you just cant say enough about that. I still go by the old saying if it ain't broke don't fix it and I don't think that its broke in any way. If it was me I would say leave things the way they are for awhile and see how it goes maybe send a email to the ones that haven't been on here for awhile and let them know they are missed, I don't know how much work that would be but if given a list would be happy to help out as I am sure there some more of us that would be happy to help out. Maybe something like a VentureRider Christmas greeting doesn't have to be anything big just something to let people know that they are thought of, like its been said we are all family here. Orlin

My daughter is getting married today so it is going to be one busy day around here, Looks like we are going to have a nice sunny day maybe a little on the cool side but a nice day. Spent the week mowing and triming the campground getting it ready for today my daughter loves the campground and thats where she is getting married and it would have had to be under water and then she most likely would of had the wedding on a boat if she would of had to. I get to spend the morning cooking venison stew Sharons making her chilli. The bonfire and fire works are all set up chairs are up parking area is ready More to do but I think that the helpers got it under control Hana has her note book with most all crossed off I think she may have gotten a hour of sleep last night, Had to tell her put the note book down get some rest. Well off to get this day going and hope that my daughter gets to have her self a great day today and the start of a good life with her new husband. Orlin

I have looked to see how many days the other Rallies go and it looks to be 4 days so that is what I will go with. Thursday June 23rd to Sunday June 26th, anyone that wants to come and campout here a couple of days before or after is wellcome. I am going to plan on taking that week off from work and do a couple of pre rides and get things ready. Will still have Saturday morning for bike maintenance, time to set and chat and a afternoon into evening ride and then a cookout and bonfire. I am going to put this on the calendar and the Regional Rallies. Orlin

I have been asked if I have thought about doing a Regional Rally, and I said that I would think on it and I have decided that I will. June 25th 2016 will be the 5th annual Maintenance Day here at our place so I am thinking on just expanding it to a Regional Rally and Maintence Day, we have it from Thursday to Sunday and can ad days to it either way before the 25th or after. I would like to get some input to see what people think would work out the best for them on the days and how many. And this will be a come as you are nice and simple get together good food good rides and plenty of time to set and relax and chat. I will have more details shortly I just wanted to get it started.
