  1. There is still time to vote if you haven't, Puc, they just don't know what they are missing unless they come to Wisconsin. I know there have been a lot of people that come for a visit and hate to go back home. And we like it that way, because they keep coming back.
  2. I have had enough time to just check the votes with work and getting ready for 2 weekends away one of them being the Leaf Lookers ride. Do have to say its been fun and am glad to of give people a choice. I said at the start that I was going to keep it simple a place for everyone visit relax and enjoy each others company and get to ride in some really nice country on some really nice roads. And of course there will be good food and can never leave out the icecream and Wisconsins famous cheese and beer. I dont think that anyone would be disapointed attending a good old fashioned Wisconsin get together. Thanks Puc and Moe for all of the work, who would have thought Moe would have become a famous goat. And Thanks to all that have voted and is still to vote. Orlin

I have my route maped and we have gotten to ride it threw and alot of this is a new area for me so its been great to see some new country, And have some great roads to ride there is good views and have a spot picked out for pictures that is one of the nicest views I have seen. Orlin
  10. Here is a list of motels in the area. www.vernoninnandsuites.com hickoryhillmotel.com Old Towne Motel, Westby
  11. I talked with Sharon again and we went threw and here are the dates that would work if the Rally is going to be here. June 4th to the 19, July 1st to the 10th, August 8th to the 27th Sorry about putting it close to the WNY Rally, We put the widest range of dates so we can work around the Rallys that are allready on set dates. Orlin
  12. Thought I would put a pic of some of the country side here in our area, this is from my lawn chair in the yard. And there is alot more to see and some great roads to ride to see it.
  13. It is looking like if we were to host the Rally it would be during the last full week in August and thats from the 20 threw the 27 so if its four days we can move the dates around some in those days. Orlin
  14. Just wanted to let those of you know that if you are going threw the Viroqua area that if you are looking for a place to pitch a tent for the night on your way there or back again you are wellcome to camp here at our place. Orlin
  15. Figured I had better put a invite on here since its for friends and family. If you are in the Viroqua area over the Labor Day weekend feel free to stop by. We will be camping here at our place camping from Thursday till Monday. We have plenty of camping room if you want to spend a night or two. And for anyone thats on their way to Pork in the Pines or on your way back and going threw this area feel free to pitch a tent if you are looking for a place. Orlin
  16. I did throw may hat into the ring and have talked with Sharon on this. And dates will be a important factor for us. We allready have our get togethers here at our place. There is Memorial weekend, Maintenance Day weekend and that is our 5th one and that is the last weekend in June and then we have our Venison Roast and this will be our 19th year for that and that is the first weeknend in August and then we have our Labor Day gathering. So what I want to know is the date going to be up to the host, we would be looking at early June after July4 and after the first weekend in August. Now for what I can offer is a meeting place here at our place we have camping room and I have a building big enough to hold as many that would come that we can use to get together in. There are motels 6 miles away with good roads there and are easy to get in and out of on motorcycles. I would set up some good rides have a place for everyone to meet have some good food and have a good old fashion get together. Orlin
  17. Met up with Frodotoo today in Black River Falls and checked out some Roads to ride for the Leaf Lookers ride and we got to ride some very nice roads. Some nice views and some nice twisty curves to keep everyone alert and having fun. Now to get the bathroom stops in there and where our lunch stop will be. I am thinking that everyone will enjoy the southern route. Talked with Bill and he getting his ideas and Roads together. Will put together our times, stops and routes in a couple of weeks and get them posted.
  18. The tire I replaced was a 880 Metzler front and rear I got around 7,000 miles out of both. I put the Commander 2 on front and rear and the rear is starting to wear the same that's what made me check to see the air pressure.
  19. I had been having this vibration and rear tire noise at 60 to 70 and at parking lot speed, I put new tires on checked bearings and headed everything that took grease and it went away, Well it came back, so rechecked bearings bushings final drive went threw the front wheel and couldn't find anything. But noticed that my rear tire was the same as the other one that I replaced. It looked like it was getting lightly cupped on the out side. So I checked the air pressure 42 pounds with the same stick type gauge that I have been using on the 2nd gen and it just seemed like the tire looked like it wearing like it was low of air so I tried a different gauge 10 pound difference so I got the one out of the 1st gen same thing. So here I have been running my tires 8 to 10 pounds under. Aired up the tires vibration gone, so lesson learned about those stick gauges I think I will give one of the digital ones a try. Orlin
  20. Something else to keep in mind that October for us Northern folks the riding season is nearing its end the weather can be one way or the other nice enough to ride or cold and wet and have had snow the second week of October. And as much as it be nice to go ride in some great country in warm weather we would still have to make our way back. Not sure but you may lose out on some of your northern riders due to the weather. Just a thought maybe we can get some input from some other northern riders on what they think. Orlin
  21. We were at Doc's Bunkouse today and reserved our cabin and checked to see what was left. There is, 1- 1 bedroom 2-2 bedroom 1-3 bedroom 2-4 bedroom and these will sleep up to 15 people is what we were told. The cabins are nice and clean and linens are supplied you will need to bring your own towels. If you are planing on the Leaf Lookers Ride and want a cabin reserve one soon there is the Cran Fest that goes on the same weekend near there and they will start filling up fast. And we were told it is best to call instead of emailing, here is the phone number 1-715-964-8010
  22. I talked with Sharon and we are willing to host one here in our area here in Wisconsin, Orlin

  25. I was asked if I would take Bryans part of the Leaf Lookers ride this year and I said that I would and Bill will be doing Kens part as they have both had things come up but want to make sure that the ride keeps going on so we took on the task. We did move the dates up because we decided to move it north and the temps can be colder up the way, so hope that they work out for most. The dates are Sept 25 and 26th, Where we will be staying has cabins, camping and RV sites and is on first come first serve. There is a link on the Regional Rallies page. We will be doing it all pretty much the same rides will be around 120 miles each day with stops for bathroom and for gas. There is a Motel in Merrillan I will get the name for that and put on the Regional Rallies. It is on the calendar so please RSVP. Thanks Orlin
