  1. That is a lot of good news:happy65:, keep up the healing you have a lot of riding time to make up this summer. Just stay away from that white wash machine we don't want you going out there and slipping and messing up all of the work those doctors did.
  2. You have been busy, Happy to see its getting used.
  3. Well I think this guy did just drag it out of the barn. Its alittle ruff on the edges a little faded and some cracks that need repair not as nice as he claimed it to be, I got a good deal and its all there and I did get it to come to life yesterday. Floats are stuck on the carbs so I put in a set here that I knew where good changed the oil got rid of the mouse nest under the seat. Putt a little oil down the cylinders cranked it over put the pugs back in hit the key and it was setting there running:D. And then the smoke started to form in the shop:yikes:, Now I have started enough cars trucks cycles that have been setting along time to know point them at the door or get them out side:confused24: why I didn't do yesterday excitement maybe. It didn't take long and it was so thick you couldn't see anything in there so doors open fan in the window shut the bike down. Got the shop cleared out of all the smoke pushed the bike to the big door started it back up and let it run for a good twenty minutes. Shut it off and, revks from Lansing Iowa came pulling in to get a hitch for his 83 Venture we got to meet and have a good chat. He headed back home and time to get the day finished so I got to take the bike for it first ride:D from one side of the shed to the other and park it for the night. Now to get some pics on here, I will get it figured out. Orlin
  4. That was my Black 84 that got me here, Wish I still had that one setting in the shed spent a lot of time on that one.
  5. Going to go and pickup a 1983 Ruby Red Venture on Friday afternoon. And yes I will get a pic of it on here when I get it home. 40,000 miles It sat for most of the last ten years other than him starting it up and maybe a trip around the block. Paint is alittle faded on the top of the trunk but I have a replacement that's in pretty good shape. A good going threw and some cleaning and buffing I think I can bring this one back to a nice ride again. Orlin
  6. Don't give him a challenge I think that machine of his isn't working the way it should he sprayed that white stuff all over the place this time. That or he is just getting really bored and checking out what those other setting do.
  7. whats it doing or not doing? could just be a fouled plug or a bad plug wire.
  8. You know the way, will be great having you here and you know we will have to get in some riding, and have to get you and that new bike of yours over to the Wild Cat Mt, so you can see how it handles. After some German Pizza. And Rick you know that beer and campfires are mandatory here when good friends come over.
  9. Go to Member Map click on my balloon and it will put you just about on my door step. One of the closest towns is Viroqua.
  10. Looks like its going to be cold here for the next 4 days, Put up wood for the wood stove cleaned the furnace stocked up with food and need a lot of that with a 16 year old in the house. No snow in the forecast so shouldn't have to go and plow, Good time to get caught up on all that's going on here on the site, Watch some movies and do some cleaning in the basement when I get bored setting around. Its been a pretty good winter so far that Flyinfool hasn't been able to do much with that machine of his and he must have done a good job on the door keeping that air from the north from getting down here, someone must have gotten it open a bit and is letting us have a feel of that nice cold air. The days are getting longer and nights are getting shorter and it wont be long and we can crank up the bikes and head down the road for a ride. Orlin
  11. Hope you can make it for the MD, and Rally, If you cant and you get over to this part of the state another time let us know we always like to get out and go for a ride or just grab a chair and set relax and chat. Orlin
  12. We will miss you and Shirley, And that is some great news, congratulations on the grand baby. You know that you and Shirley are welcome here anytime. Orlin
  13. Sharon asked me how the Regional Rally is coming along I told her we got a couple of maybes and two that are coming that have signed RSVP on the calendar. I know that its early but if you know you are going to come please RSVP on the calendar. So we can start to get a head count. Thanks Orlin and Sharon
  14. A ride with the Grand Daughter on Christmas had to be one of the best presents lucky guy you are.
  15. Welcome back, and I agree on the new tires, Maybe you can make it to Viroqua if you are going to be out riding those Wisconsin roads. We do have a few gatherings here during the riding season and everyone is allways welcome. Orlin
  16. We are good here just wet, the creek next to the campground is up out its banks, The Kickapoo River was at flood stage and coming up and we got a couple more inches this afternoon and more rain for tonight. The campground will be fine most of the water goes away from it am lucky the valley gets wider where we are so there is more room for the water, I will have a little clean up but not much. Fool must have done a good job on that door I don't see any real cold coming and not much for snow. This flooding in December doesn't happen around here we usually have snow up to our knees or higher.
  17. Thunder storms and over 3 inch of rain last night the creeks are out of their banks:shock3: Is that snow machine of yours on the blink:think: Or did you get that door shut good and tight up north:canada: to keep that cold air up there.
  18. we are around the 400 mark and have pulled the trailer and loaded down and have had no problems at all and don't ever feel that the bike feels over loaded or unsafe Just keep a close eye on the tire pressure front and rear. Tires are just a matter of choice, Just keep in mind the softer rubber tires do grip the road nice but you wont get the miles out of them as you will with a harder rubber tire. Orlin
  19. I did some looking and as far as I can tell that Yamaha started putting the hose on the shock in 05 must be a vent for the shock. So I know that the shock has been replaced at some point after 05.
