Looking for info regarding presetting the spring on a progressive rear shock for two up riding. Would like to get it close before installing it on the bike.
I put spacers between the mirror bracket and the fairing. When you tighten the mirror down it does not pull on the plastic fairing. The boot covers it up.
Those V65 Sabres are a breed of their own. I still have my 84 that I purchased in 1985. Just put all stainless lines on it and made a new fork brace for it.
There is a 87 standard on cincinnati craigslist right now with 18,000 miles on it located in Bethel, Ohio. Looks nice according to the pics. $1,800.00.
Just fixxed one just like it. The lobe was broke off. Those engines have a compression release built into the cam in order to lower compression to make it easier to start. Then centrifical force takes it out of play when it starts. They dont make them like they used to.
Talked to Mark today and ordered a collector for my 87 Standard. He had it in stock and I should receive it this week. I did confirm with them that they are 100 percent stainless including the welds.
Looking for the eye to eye centerline length for the rear shock on an 87 standard. My shock has the internal spring with air. Just bought a progressive and wanting to compare lengths. Going to change it this winter. Mike
Still had rooms left last week. The rear balcony for bike parking, restaurant and lounge is still open. We made our reservation there early in the year. Just thought maybe someone else would be staying there.
Mary Ann and myself will be there Thursday afternoon. We are staying at the Oberlin Inn as of now. When I made reservations they told me that the rear balcony will still be available for the bikes, even though construction. Are we going to try to get a group rate there like previous years. Mike
I have mechanical cable operated surge brakes on mine and really like the setup. The problem I see with electric brakes is what happens when the solinoid falls and holds the brakes on at 65 mph. I could see a disaster here. Just my two cents.
