  1. Ok, I have been busy with work and training so I have had not much time to think about this but, there is only one appropriate name for it now. --Carl's FREE steak BBQ -- --grill it and we will come--
  2. Hey Carl If you want a small compact CB for that I might be able to help you out with that. Sometimes when guys trade their trucks in they want a new CB to go with their new truck so they just leave the old one behind and most times they are cobra's. and sometimes neat little compact ones. Say the word and I will keep an eye out for one. By the way Congrats on the new ride. After our last discussion I pretty much got the idea it would be sooner rather than later, can't wait to see it.
  3. Ok Hugger and I have been texting and will be meeting up at Duff's Cornor,s to do another hand off.
  4. Too bad Canadian insurance is such a rip off or I would be suggesting keeping the venture for those times when you are riding solo JMHO.
  5. Hey Don't be using Marca as an excuse. The truth is Karl's memory has been fading. Lets face it how many times lately have you parked the bike with the kick stand up and rode it with the kick stand down. You bought this thing to eliminate the kick stand.
  6. Maybe you can buy a snow plow attachment for the front and a plow box for the rear. You will be all set for doing side walks this winter. But one thing I do gotta know when you road tested one did you check out how well it could do U_TURNS. :rotfl:
  7. I was considering a singing career .....But after that I now feel somewhat intimidated. Talk about an incredible voice for a seven year old.
  8. Oh Bad news Dingy the pipes went on:dancefool:....I mean missing:bang head:
  9. Ok I got the pipes. Now to work out the next phase. Ground Hugger I sent you a PM.
  10. Just got text from Anthony he is on his way down and they should be in my possession around midnight. BTW Dingy Anthony does not have a site name as he is not a member and does not even ride a motorcycle. He is just a good hearted guy willing to help out.
  11. What again?:backinmyday:How does Marca ever keep up with you. Your worse than a teenager with hollow legs. .......And we knoooow your no teenager:rotfl: :rotfl:
  12. Anthony called me and he has the pipes. He is going to try to get them to me Monday night other wise it will be Tues when he actually comes into work which would be after 1:00 in the afternoon; I will let Ground Hugger know as soon as I have the pipes and then we can arrange another handover.
  13. Spoke to Anthony He can help out. Sent you a PM. actually two.
  14. Thoughts and prayers sent Tom. Also my condolences To Taters, family and friends.
  15. They only fit 89 and up maybe even only 89 .. not sure yet
  16. If that does not work out I have an Apprentice who lives in Barrie. I am sure he would be willing to bring them to work on Tuesday and that would get them to Burlington. Then I could hook up with Ground Hugger and transfer them to him.
  17. Jeez Dingy to bad you didn't post this before last weekend. My Daughter and drove up through that area last Sat. Could have picked up then and had them here in Burlington for phase two, whatever that may be.:bang head:
  18. Nope the bushing are in the right place . put them in wrong once and the rotor rubbed right up against the caliper body.
  19. Might not be a bad idea. We can compare notes.
  20. As you may remember Carl I had that so called rear end high speed waddle too when I had the Avons on it but as soon as I pulled them off and the dealer swapped them for a set of EII's it went away. What I have now is not front or back its the whole dang bike alternately leaning from one side to the other back and forth. It starts as a very slow lazy lean to one side and then straightening up and leaning to other side. the rhythm increasing with speed until eventually it will develop into a front high speed shimmy once I get going fast enough
  21. The fork seals were done at around 89,000 KM (55,000 miles) but I do now have about 129,00 KM (80,000 miles) on it. I do not know if the bushing s were done at that time and I did install one of Condors fork braces about 3 years ago. I don't drive those speeds often just on the odd occasion when passing. But thanks for all the pointers from everyone so far I will look closer at a lot of the items mentioned. Rather than just a casual inspection.
  22. That depends .....despite popular belief the sixty's wasn't just about drugs, hippies and psychedelic music ..... There were motorcycles, muscle cars and pickups. horses, country music, rock and roll and BEER. and your memory stayed intact......Most times anyway cause there was BEER
  23. It looks like a condenser like we used to use with point ignition and also on the old car radios to suppress ignition noise back in the sixty's.
  24. I have checked the play by pulling the handlebars for and aft a few times over the years and have never found any play other than the first time some years back prior to adjusting them. However I like the idea about the grease. I guess too I have to swallow the bullet and pull the head apart and visually check the bearings may as well change the fork oil and add that grease fitting while I am at it.
  25. Tire pressures I have varied from 34 psi to 40 psi with no change. The forks are controlled by the class system Though now that I think about it I have not checked the oil in a long while. The tires are just broke in about 100 to 150 miles. Moving the steering head left to right with front wheel off the ground they feel smooth with no grabbing even if I slightly over tighten them. Currently they are adjusted so that they bounce once off the stop if I gently flip them right or left. Any tighter than that then my bike wants to straighten up on the ramps. As they are now the bike handles turns nicely. I do admit I have not physically removed and inspected the bearings. I guess it's possible they may have very little grease in them and grease does tend to have a dampening effect in bearings. One thing I also have not tried is running it with empty saddlebags to see if weight distribution is an issue. I tend to travel with loaded bags because I never know were or how far I may go on the spur of the moment. And I like to have a good selection of tools at all times.
