  1. How much warranty does it have?
  2. Engine parts are made of metal for a couple reasons. First and foremost is heat dissipation, also longevity. Actually flat black will get rid of the heat better, but some like the shiny sparkly look. Now you want a hot ride in summer, try a 106ci v-twin
  3. It started ing to hell when they allowed folks to take a US driver licence test in spanish. Really? None of our signs are in spanish so why the heck did they do this.
  4. Hmmm I thought this was all about the election commercials. Wife just read a post from FB. Its like Clinton and Trump are divorced parents fighting for custody of us as kids. And we just want to go live with grandma. LOL So true.
  5. Here where I am in Central Fla, not only have the Mexican thing, but in my particular neighborhood the Puerto Rican and Cubans are kind of the same way. Week days not so bad, but weekends can be a bit loud. They for some reason congregate in the garage, play cards dominos pool and smoke cigars with loud music and bongo drums. Or neighborhood has noise restrictions for like 11pm quite time. But you hate to be the guy that calls the cops if they find out.
  6. Wonder how much the Brits got for "selling" the BSA moniker. All the BSA I remember had a triangle engine case, Leaky seals and carbs and were a bugger to start. Waint a minute maybe that was a Triumph?
  7. Used to be if you had like $10 bucks on ya they couldnt arrest you for being vagrant. I dunno though, in todays times with the wierdoes running around I am scared to sleep in open like that anymore.
  8. Apple Barn Restaurant. It is north a bit and on left side as your heading north. Good food, also has a country store with some unusual not found everywhere things.
  9. Never been a big name the bike thing for me. My new to me scoot is all black. Nothing really fits, until one day on a ride with some guys we were eating lunch and shootin the breeze. We got to talking about paint color and which we liked and disliked. This is the first all black anything I have owned. Then it hit me, this thing ought to be called Dusty. Because no matter how much I clean it, 30 min later it looks all dusty and dirty again.
  10. Will one like this work for you? Its weatherproof.
  11. Theres a fix for that you know.
  12. So not being savy in the GW world, whats this thing look like? Anything "special" about it? Shape, dimensions etc that would keep you from using something generic?
  13. I have had a couple Suzuki's, last one was like an 86 or something GS 1100 that I added all the bags etc to make it a touring bike. Was a good running scoot. So reliability wise I would think it is a thought out bike. One of my questions would be how many years did they make it? So how is the knowledge base and spare parts? From the pic it looks like a GW aspencade.
  14. Wave as you come by. If its during the week, I'll be at work @ the college in Avon Park.
  15. Especially being we aint had kickers for a long time. I also was thinking more in line with automotive charging systems.

    Hey Puc

Has the Fool sent you all something today? Was watchin national news, and it sort of looked that way.
  17. Yup have used that method myself. Well minus the Mercedes. I have to use the hitch on the PU
  18. See it wasnt that bad! I would far rather change the RSV than my 900 Vulcan or by what I have been investigating my Victory. Shaft has no adjustments, these bikes are belt and can be finicky.
  19. In my opinion and somewhat experience yes. You figure your charging system is rated @ say 14v max. So normal operation your vehicle needs 12v to run. Generic modules like ecm, body control module usually need to see something like 10v to be happy and somewhat function. So if everything is working normal, your charge system only has to put out over 12.8v or something for a minimal time after start up, say 10 min, from there on its done charging the battery so to speak. Then its 12-12.2v or so. Now if the battery does kind of like you said an "on and off" sort of thing and takes a long "break without taking a charge". The alternator has to work harder to get the battery back up to correct voltage. Hope this kind of helps.
  20. I was on a dealer sponsored ride yesterday. (Victory) When we were done with lunch and the group was breaking up I headed home. While sitting at a stop light the joker next to me had phone in face texting away. Light turned green I started to take off and he is still sitting there. I give a blast on the stebel and must have startled him. He gassed it pretty good. Must have thought a semi was gonna run him over. LOL
  21. My local clinic does a good job for me. I dont use them much, but they have done me rite. It is about 14 miles maybe one way. I dont think I have filed mileage for local appointments. Now when they send ,me half way across the state you bet.
  22. Well you know I am. but its only a couple hour drive over.
  23. LOL Life. OK Maybe I'll look up the ride this weekend for my Victory shop. Harborside Restaurant in Winter Haven for lunch

    helmet laws

Hmm I wear a helmet all the time. Its the way I learned to ride, it was just part of the deal. I started street riding in Fla in the early 70's, helmets were still mandatory then. The only "outlaw" helmet states back then were Calif, Ny I think and a couple out west places like Nevada or something, not may any ways. Over the years states repealed helmet laws (I dunno why). I served in the USAF in Oklahoma and part of our briefing in the MOST (motorcycle operator safety training) was "Oklahoma is a helmet choice state. You can wear one or not your choice. You Must wear a helmet on base (max speed on any military post I have been on is like 35-45 mph) However once you are off base it is your option, but be advised it may also be Uncle Sams option as to weather or not they pa your medical bills. For me that made a pretty easy choice as I wore a lid anyways. Last week the boss and I were enjoying some nice rides in NC, then a swing over thru Savannah on the way home. Along my route to Savannah we are tooling along about 60 or so and I hear this loud thud sort of sound. I saw whatever the projectile was about 29 milliseconds before contact. There is now a chip in my helmet where said projectile made contact. So for me it saved a headache without and ground contact. Shoot I remember the days when hockey players didnt wear any helmets and the goalie were just starting to some of them wear catchers masks. once players were taught as kids that a helmet was just part of the gear, all the talk went away about how it infringed on sight, quickness etc. Similar with the HANS device in NASCAR and auto racing. Some were speaking out against it spouting restrictive, I cant look around limited movement etc. I dunno how restrictive a HALO rig is but they dont look comfy. But the kids coming up now just learn to race with them and its just part of putting on the fire suit, shoes helmet etc. I do question though in the states like mine, how can they require me in a 4k pick up to wear a seat belt, but the kamikaze on the ninja dont have to wear any protection? Flip flops, tank top and a helmet dangling over the left turn signal. Well at least that part wont be damaged.
