  1. Hes off to go ride in the mountains. What better birthday. Have a good one Mike.
  2. OH MY I hate to be captain obvious, but there is a dead short. Not having a wire diagram is a disadvantage. First thing I would do is as best you can follow the wires back from the injectors and I know its going to go into a jumbo harness, but best you cant follow it around and see if its pinched somewhere. Sorry not more help.
  3. Jeff, I made a "engineered" sun shield that should help with just about anything other than a frog choker. Someone on here gave me the idea. Its made out of index card box from office max. I use a Garmin 765t. I selected it because I could make a route on my PC and import it to the GPS. that feature is fading fast from all but the really expensive ones.
  4. this should pretty much do it. http://www.rammount.com/Gallery/images/RAM-HOL-UN10BU/RAM-HOL-UN10BUIU2.jpghttp://www.rammount.com/Gallery/images/RAM-HOL-UN10BU/RAM-HOL-UN10BU.jpg
  5. I think that hose is just sort of a vent/breather hose to equalize the air box. Where does it go? does it look to supply vacuum or air anywhere. I think it goes down to the AIR widgit thing under the bike for emissions. So what WAS the fix?

You all ride safe there Brake pad and crew.
  7. Could be that it was just flooded? I dont know, thats where I was last week with the one I have in the shop. Only it was the no crank. Just a good cleaning of all connectors I could get to and a small repair and it has hit every time I go out to start. I know what you mean on the aircraft. 20yr working aircraft for uncle Sam here. pull out book and it gives a pretty detailed description of where and a location.
  8. If it ain't screaming I wouldn't worry about it.
  9. At least the big ole cargo jets I worked on would give you what they called a fuselage station to locate said connector. Could be anywhere from say the floor to the ceiling, but you had a general area. Seaking here is some info from Tank on the Delphi on location your pick up plug. o do.
  10. OK see if this helps you out at all. Your pick up plug I have no idea where its at. Maybe this picture will help with some of the other location spots.
  11. I have used the beads in my bikes since 2008. They work very well and you dont have to worry about one getting knocked off or the glue coming undone.
  12. If you are talking about the one that is in the diff, I think you are going to have to disassemble the diff. Looking at the manual it is under the bearings for the crown wheel gear.
  13. Main fuse is on the right side of the starter relay you already replaced. The other is a spare for it.Should be 30 amp jobs. The Ignition fuse is in that fuse box on the left side of the bike with the other 4 or so you have checked. I agree, while working on the bike I am the manual is not very descriptive about telling you where in the hect to look for XYZ connector. It will tell you to check ohm or voltage but where it is actually located.......not so much.
  14. I have the Nelson Rigg mentioned. I have had the thing for at least 2 yr or more and it spends 3-5 days out in the sun when parked at the airport in Fla sunshine and rain etc. A bit faded but no tears and holes. Still keeps the rain out.
  15. If it drug it backwards on the side stand I would count yourself as lucky. It probably could have very easily tipped it over and ran over it. Then it would be a mess for sure.
  16. I like those. I forget what model, heck they all look the same pretty much. But I like the ones with the frame mounted fairings and double headlight. A couple of questions though. why those air filters VS K&N? And how come you needed to have a bracket to move the trunk? Not as much room as the RSV?
  17. From an aerodynamics stand point I dont trust them. look like they would fly like a boomerang. Dont trust helicopters neither. But I appreciate someone flying them.
  18. I think he did. Seems to me he took everything out of the works so just the switch was in the loop once it would not run. So as to eliminate that as a trouble source.
  19. I have worked with him some on this. Something to the tune of what seaking 45+ e-mails. LOL He has a keyless by pass kit, has actually replaced the ignition switch with a new OEM, and I know they can only go together one way. I'm m thinking along the lines of the pick up or ecm also. I cant see 4 coils going out at one time.
  20. Well the wife and I were watching a new episode of " whats in the barn" On a couple of the shots out front of the museum there was a purty red RSV . Rite in with them Harleys. I know exactly whos it was to. Season 2 episode 8 "dont tell Dale"
  21. LOL WOW someone else that still calls them that. Now if I could just find some F4 tape again.
  22. I did read a couple posts on replacing the points. I suppose its an option. but with the positive failure rate (they all due sooner or later it looks like) I just doubled down on the cost and put the "pointless" pump in. I figure if mine broke down again, even if I had the points it would be in the middle of a rain storm or something.
  23. Hey Joe (wasnt that a song? anyways) here is a place that either should have one or can get you one ASAP. Plus 10% military discount Cycle Gear North Charleston 4400 Dorchester Road Suite 115 N Charleston 29405 United States
  24. I got an e-mail from polaris the other day. I am signed up to get Victory info so I have to imagine thats why. So still smoke and mirrors non-descriptive info. But from what I have seen one name comes to mind...EDSEL
  25. I made a cabe and installed under the fairing on my 2nd gen and soldered in an ear phone jack and ran it back along the OEM intercom cable. I have also built basicly that adapter for a couple guys with parts I had mainly the 5 pin plug in. but they are a coll little plug if you dont want to work hard at it.
