1. Well I am hoping we have a great turnout for the ride in 2 weeks, but seems interest is low in attending this ride. I have only heard from 5 members about attending. Here who I know is coming. Charlene and myself Dana & Missy Jamie & Paula--maybe Don & Patti Rick Haywood Larry & Joyce--canceled:crying: If you plan on coming or are up in the air about coming please post your name to the above list as to yes or maybe, if your not, no need for posting. Hope to see a lot of friends and new faces
2. There goes the neighborhood.............with only a Hardly in his garage, what goes next, the Yamaha banner replaced with a Hardly banner, so on and so on, pretty soon he wont even wave at us............:crying:
3. Will be great seeing you again...............
4. And you do a very good job of both Skid, but who is going to protect Yammer after you retire.........:rotfl:
5. Only 2 more weeks and we are off to St. Jude Children's Hospital to make our donation. Please, if you haven't been there yet it a must make trip, you will be glad you did.
6. Must not be too bad, no chrome bracelets yet.........LOL
7. Once a member always a member..........gonna miss ya Swifty..............good luck with whatever you do..........but I do believe we will see you back here sooner or later!
8. It's getting close, the 28th will be here before you know it. I havent had many people responding about going to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to present them with our donation. Would be nice to know aprox. number of riders attending. If you dont want to ride your bike, come in your cage, thats how we have been doing it for the past 4 years. Of course I usually have shirts to bring, so I need the extra space. Come on and join us, you will be blessed with an awesome experience. We will be touring the Ronald McDonald House which is right across the street from the hospital and with time permitting we will also tour the Grizzly House which is on the campus of the hospital. We will be meeting at the Flying J/Pilot truck stop in W. Memphis, Ark. It sits between I-55 and I-40 just across the Miss. River from Memphis. We plan on being there around 11:00 am, eat lunch then ride over to the hospital.
9. I fell in love with the Honda's when I was in high school. I had several friends that had 50's, 90's and the super 90 was my favorite. After I graduated and spent 1 semester in college, which I found wasnt for me, I bought my first bike, they didnt make the 90's like the super 90 anymore so I bought one of Honda's first dual purpose bike, the SL90. Rode it for 2 years then traded up to a CL350, a great bike, rode that for a couple of years and then went on to the cb350Four, one of the smoothest running bikes I have ever owned. Now look where I ended up, with a Yamaha. I hated them back then, couldnt stand the 2 stroke sound. And these are not the very bike I owned but identical to them. 10. Your right about the helpful members, I have been helped numerous times and it has saved me a bundle of money, hell if it wasnt for the members here I probably wouldn't be riding a Venture right now. 12 bucks a year is cheap for what we get in help, info and just plain good fun and great friends and family, I have been a member since 2005, and they couldnt drive me away if they tried. So, Chirs welcome to our family.
11. I have a spare for an 83, that was sent to me by Yammer Dan, I tried to give it back to him but he said pass it on. If you need it, cover the shipping and its yours, and it looks brand new. I tested it on my 83 and it does work.
12. I think I know the part, but a picture of what it looks like would help. Being a damper I assume its the rubber insert that goes into it to cushion the bolt that attaches the foot rest mount.
13. Charlene and I are so very sad to hear this news, Steve was a good friend, one whom I will miss. We didnt get a chance to see Steve a whole lot, mostly at Vogel, which he supportred generously. Steve was one of a kind, and will be missed by the VR family. Our prayers are with you at this sad time.
14. If you look at the pictures he used, its a 2nd gen.
15. It all depends on how you ride and the air pressure you keep in the tires, I had Shinkos on my 1st gen and my V Star 1300, I got a little over 7500 miles on both rear tires and the fronts were still over 70% left. I rode with max air pressure which I beleive was 75 lbs on the rear tires, and I dont ride hard or fast.
16. Patti, does Don know your selling his trike..........what gives, hope your not getting out of triking. Hope a new Hannigan is in your future. Please tell me your not quitting riding!!!!!!!!:bang head:
17. Sorry to hear about your sister in law, prayers going up.
18. I am sure you can tell it much better than I can Scott, be my guest, I will take just about anything for the Kids at St. Jude.............
19. If your using a GPS, plot a ride over to Dillard, Ga and eat at the DIllard House, then plot a ride via back roads over to Highlands, NC, Cashiers, NC, and that general area, great roads, lots of waterfalls, lots of up and down and plenty of curves. We did it at Vogel and it was great.
20. The St. Jude funds are growing still, right now the grand total is............................... $6,931.00 :mo money::mo money::mo money:
21. Sorry to hear about your friend, prayers going up for the both of you. God Bless.
22. I think you went a little off topic or posted to the wrong thread..................lLOL
23. Is that the tale of the corpse......and not talking about your tire.
24. Thats how we do it at Vogel and it makes it a lot of fun, and I do believe it raises more money:mo money::mo money:. We got some outstanding bids on things that I thought wouldnt sell at Vogel, but these members stepped up and snatched just about everything up. Find out if anyone there is an actual auctioneer, that really livens it up, we found one, but it was a little late, he told us after if was over.
