  1. Some people are reading why to much into this. We are talking about expanding one event, by inviting a small group of riders to a local event for the purpose of helping that group to evolve into their own. And also to help Pioneer with the cost that is involved with an ever expanding event. This has very little to do with Ventureriders as a whole. No one is suggesting letting another group merge with VR. Although we do seem to have an open invitation to anyone regardless what they ride. I mean, we have all, time after time told newbe's and VR veteran's it don't matter what you ride, it's about the ride not the bike. So please do not make more out of this then what it is.
  2. Don't no about the black death, but the shark? And now he's talking about whale blubber and walrus. I think the Vikings are trying to do us in.
  3. Don't know how I missed it.
  4. Yea Bongobob, sign up!
  5. I understand Hell's Angels are in town that week.....Ok just kidding. I'm thinking any group like ours would be a good idea. Make sure you recruit some of their people to help with the setup. I like the idea of catering, let Ken relax for a change. All though he did seem to be very relaxed during the concert.
  6. Blame Bongobob for this. He hijacked your thread.
  7. Don't have to.... she has them hanging from her rearview mirror. Shut up Tom!
  8. Lost my nuts a couple of years ago, Just don't use them anymore.....much easier to remove the seat now.
  9. This is normal. It does not mute the radio.
  10. We have enough chiefs running around this place or what? welcome to VR Chief. MMCSSW
  11. According to the map, Skydoc is in the Altoona area. Maybe you could ride over to his place. I'd do it, but That would be a weekend trip.
  12. Idle adjustment is a small black knob on right side behind rear carb tucked up under the tank. Looks like a big Phillips head screw. If you have chrome carb covers it is at the rear of the right over.
  13. What's a 3 day weekend? Heck, what's a weekend?
  14. A very sad day for Venture Riders. Enough said.

And for all my fellow squids....Bilge wine anyone? For those long weeks or months at sea.
  20. You do not have a separate reserve tank. It is all one tank. the petcock valve has a high suction and a low suction. When it is in the on position it is taking a suction on the high suction tube. When the engine starts to sputter the fuel level is below the high tube. When you shift the petcock to reserve, you are taking suction on the low tube near the bottom of the tank. this will give you about 1 gal. of gas to get you to a gas station.

From one retired Chief to another... on the Gentleman Jack, best darn sippin whisky money can buy. However, any port in a storm, as they say.
  23. I will say this again as I have in another post. If you run it in the on position all the time and stop for gas when you get down to about a 1/4 tank like I use too. Then that one time when you do need the reserve you may be in for a big surprise, like I was. Water and other gunk will settle in the bottom of the tanks and guess what happens when you shift over to reserve for the fist time in like a year. You will be wishing you used that reserve more often. We were lucky there was a gas station just down the road. When we got home I drained a large amount of water out of the bottom of the tank. Now I'm on reserve all the time and stop when I hit the 1/4 mark. I always have a fresh tank of gas on board. I mean what the heck, my truck doesn't have a reserve petcock valve. And I've never run out of gas in the truck or the car....at least not yet:whistling: So what's the difference with the bike.
  24. At Max's drive in, in Waterloo NY. He owns a "01" rsv, red on red. bought it new in 01. Ask him if he was a member, said he never heard of Venture riders. Well, he has now. Hope he checks us out.
