Couple years back another member had a rod bearing go out while on a trip. don't remember who. That was the only other major failure I know of. as others have mentioned, Pinwall is a good place to look for a motor.

We were there last year and did not find a bad road. Keep an eye on the weather, if they have heavy rains some roads may be washed out.

The way I see it is if they come out with a new Venture or what ever, The price of a used second gen. will drop significantly. I should be able to keep my trike on the road for another 20 year with all those used bikes and parts out there. only problem is what to do with all those cassette players:confused24:

So it looks like the sneak peak pic's in the other post just might be the new venture, stratotour or what ever they call it. I said a couple years ago that the replacement for the venture would be a big V-twin. Reason for saying this.... all the other guys are v-twins, except Honda. They build what makes them $$$. Don't matter what a hand full of people like us would like to see them do.

There is another thread about this, started about a week ago. I don't believe what we see in the picture is what the bike is going to actually look like when it is finally available to the public. It looks like a fake fairing cover and several other fake covers bolted on hide what it really looks like.

Two words.....Strato tour. I believe the Venture is dead. I said several years ago that the next Yamaha touring bike would use a Big water cooled V twin. I believe we are getting a preview of that bike. It will probably look a lot better with out all the flat black paint and probably some fake plastic parts to hide some details.

Hate to burst your bubble Bongo, but the twist was written and performed by Hank Ballard and the Midnighters in 59 Chubby covered it in 60 and made it famous with the dance.

Every year after the rally is over many folks will post saying how they wished they had been there and saying how they would like to have joined in all the fun. This year don't wish....DO! join us for a weekend of fun and family.

Left home in NY 5 hours ago, now in Hagerstown MD. heading to Fla. for the week. One more day of snow and I would have killed someone. We are going to look around for our future retirement home. We have had enough! Looking forward to sun and sand:sun:

Right now I'll take the 30's. Just finished digging the truck out of a 4' snow bank in my driveway. Single digit temps. This stuff sucks. Looking forward to heading to Fla. in three days. going down in the cage, so I don't care if the temps are in the 50's/60's. That's a heat wave compared to this....stuff.

What did you do? Bring that cold Canadian weather to Florida with you. Just looked at the temps for Florida tonight. Hope you brought you cold weather gear with you. Do me a favor will you, bring that cold weather back home with you so it will be warm when we get down there.
