  1. Probably no air in the shock, put some in and try again. You should get a progressive suspension air pump , it has a gauge and is necessary for putting air in the front forks (7PSI max) in forks. 2. I opened the fairing and put a splitter in the line behind the cassette and plugged in the output there. Doing it that way you don't have to have the cassette door open all the time.
  3. When you get back in town, I have something for you !
  4. Got that new Hoveround being delivered soon huh ? :rotf:
  5. Going thru pre-ride check list Keys Helmet Map Stay out of cow pasture Put kick stand down at end of ride
  6. :rotfl::rotf:
  7. Ha...go figure there's a marina 4 miles from me with non-ethanol 89, I know where my next fill will be.
  8. Pretty sure I was a How-to, to make your own links. There was a member here that had a few sets for sale not long ago. Do a search and you'll find it.
  9. I pulled my 350# trailer all over MT, WY, ID. , mountains, switchbacks and slab riding, it's a bit slower to get going and to stop. Fuel mileage takes a hit. I pushed it hard going over Beartooth and Chief Joseph Hwy with no problems and on 287 between Jackson Hole and Riverton, Wy there was 20 miles of deep mud where they tore the road out, we were leaving 4" deep ruts, I think the trailer helped to keep the bike tracking well. Mind you this was all 2-up riding. I hope to NEVER encounter another road like that, it was a white knuckle ride the whole 20 miles So yes the Venture is a Great bike to tow with.
  10. Speedy recovery and follow the Doc's instructions.
  11. I like it !! Nice job If you do offer them up I'd be interested in 2 of them. Otherwise do you have a how to, so we can build it ourself.
  12. I'd say 12 beers and riding home from the bar would qualify as high miles... Well somebody had to say it.
  13. I came home from work one night to find my wife and friend sitting in the kitchen talking , my wife turned to me and said there's a chicken dinner in the oven. I washed up got a plate out and opened the oven door, out pops this live chicken and starts running around the kitchen talking, darned near gave me a heart attack . They were rolling on through floor laughing . I wasn't so amused.
  14. 3 for me, I'll get them from you at MD.
  15. A friend has one, I shot it twice, the first shot was on purpose, the second shot was airborn, as I tried to control the recoil I don't think I'll shoot it again, it was like shooting both barrels of a 12Ga. mag pistol at once! I think he said it was like $4 a pop. Good thing there was 4 miles of open swamp beyond the targets.
  16. IF WOMEN ONLY TRUSTED THEIR HUSBANDS! There comes a time when a woman just has to trust her husband... For example... A wife comes home late at night, and quietly opens the door to her bedroom. From under the blanket she sees four legs instead of two. She reaches for a baseball bat and starts hitting the blanket as hard as she can. Leaving the covered bodies groaning, she goes to the kitchen to have a drink. As she enters, she sees her husband there, reading a magazine. "Hi Darling", he says, "Your parents have come to visit us, so I let them stay in our bedroom. Did you say "hello"?
  17. Help is always appreciated even when not needed. The door is always open
  18. Here's a few shots of my winter mess
  19. Got er done. I didn't need the BFH after all, seems there's 2 screws going to the top clamp from the inner fairing stay that nobody ever mentioned except in my phone conversation with Randy (RickardRacing), once those were removed it came apart with just a few taps. Thanks Randy. I ended up going 1" , it feels better sitting on it, a ride after the salt is washed off the roads will tell the story. 3 1/2 hours start to finish, with a few phone call breaks. The hardest part of the job was getting out there to do it .
  20. Just checked top neck bearing, still had grease on it but I added a bit more. Retorque neck then reassemble. Piece of cake.
  21. I'm only lowering 3/4-7/8. Top clamp bolts are loose but I can't get it to come up and off time to get out the BFH & beat on it
  22. Just got back, all tools in hand, 2 sets that cover 3mm-17mm. I have the FSM so here we go, wish me luck
  23. I'm going to lower the front end today. I don't have any hex sockets for re-torquing the tree clamp bolts, I'm going to go buy some today, does anyone know what size the clamping bolts are? Want to be sure I have the correct sizes on hand for re-assembly.
  24. Stay tuned to this thread, Carbon One has 4 different latches to try out, the most promising is a locking push button. I'm sure he'll chime in soon enough.
  25. The kids went for a ride, I declined, citing the above reason. It was real hard to do too. Shiny farkles don't like salt dust.
