  1. Are you getting the aux tank put on? I had the misfortune of getting my conversion done in Murray right before they finalized the aux tank plan, but I was one of the first they did but it was a 2 day job and they had to pull the body off to do it. I love the aux tank and it is a welcome thing to have and really pushes up your range limit. If you mentioned you were getting it done before, please accept my apology for not noticing!
  2. Well got my tank finished up today at Hannigan and made it all the way from Murray to Crossville (240 miles) without stopping and still have almost half a tank ... I am a happy camper, it took about 4.7 gallons to fill it to right below the neck, and transferred to the main tank like a dream in just minutes ... It was pricy but I am very happy with! The folks at Hannigan were great, as always ... anyone who is thinking about triking our their Venture, invest the money and get this done during your build, not afterwards ...
  3. Tripod ... what did Hannigan say when you sent them the photos? Any response? Keith
  4. wonderful pics ... I was in Murray this weekend to do a BBQ judging contest ... and I stopped in and saw John ... he showed me a unit that was getting the tank installed, looked like quality work, much better than the job California Side Car did with our GL1800 trike which eventually cracked ... I will bring up your post when I chat with them on the 13th when I get there with the bike. 5 gallons, that would be a wonderful round figure.
  5. I had some issues like yours ... the first thing I did was turn off my bluetooth to my phone. That solved the freezing up ... I then made sure my hardware updates were current.
  6. After walking through it I can't even imagine him moving ... the task would be incredible ... the place is FULL of stuff.
  7. We visited the site in Maggie Valley NC this last weekend, June 2010. A wonderful place to spend the morning, don't pass this place up, here is a link to our photos. http://monkei.smugmug.com/Motorcycles/WTT/12732122_KNpbD#916732665_EWYsq
  8. We just attended a Trike Rally over in Maggie Valley, NC. Took quite a few pics of the trike on the BRP. http://monkei.smugmug.com/Motorcycles/TrikeTalkRally2010/12732267_xn3e3#916744496_oMYJY
  9. they will be putting on my trike? I would like to see where the fill nozzle ends up.
  10. It says "about 4 gallons" on the web page. Of course it is going to cost more to retro fit it than it would have if it has been ready when they did the kit. I looked at adding an aux tank to sit on the passenger seat, but there was no way I could make it look good with the trike, at least to my liking anyway. And I truly need to not be looking for gas stations every 125 miles.
  11. I received word from them today that the retro fit is indeed ready and they will be installing mine on the 13th of July. 2 day job.
  12. Not doubting or questioning you, I just know what they told me last week ... said they had a bike there that they were going to test it with ... I volunteered mine ... just passing along what I was told.
  13. I have been talking with Hannigan about the aux fuel tank ... they keep saying they are under development ... will keep pestering them but they don't seem to be in any hurry.
  14. Beside your wife not wanting to ride in it ... there is a much steeper learning curve driving a sidecar rig and a trike. I had a Honda ST1300 with the Hannigan sidecar built at Murray, it ran great, but it takes awhile to get used to the bike pulling to the right when accelerating and pulling to the left when braking. I had my triple tree worked on in Canada and it made a lot of difference but that pulling effect was still there and was compounded when the wife was in the sidecar ... and she is not big by any means. I finally sold it and went through various bikes and setups until I got to the Hannigan Trike with the RSV. I would never try and talk anyone out of a sidecar kit, just maybe try and get someone to let you drive theirs for awhile before you pull the trigger.
  15. Talked with Hannigan Motor Sports this morning about the auxiliary fuel tank they will be offering for their trike conversion kit. It is still in R&D and no date is available as to when it will be available. The tank will be 5 gallons. It will be placed under the passenger seat and a filler nozzle nearby with key The unit will not be a gravity fed unit and will have a pump and switch. The price with be just under 700.00 and does not include installation.
  16. I am also going to call Hannigan about this aux tank. I just got mine this year and I wish I had known they were working on one. Luckily I am not far from their Murray, KY location but if their dealers will be installing it that would be sweet too. What would you imagine your distance per tank would end up being with the aux tank? Did they tell you exactly where the tank would be? This will be a gravity fed system and not an electronic one, correct? Keith Fairfield Glade, TN
  17. thanks everyone for the quick support on this issue. I "split" the fairing and got to the audio connectors ... I was not sure which one did what, there were like 5 of them so I took each one apart and put some of the grease on each one. Took it for a spin and the audio controller did not cut off once. So so far ... good. I saw a post on here but I can't find it now, it was on how to install a Y splitter along with pictures of the parts from Radio Shack, but I can't find it now, so if anyone could point me in that thread's direction I would appreciate it! Thanks again Keith
  18. Since none of my buttons on my controller are working, I am not sure how I would turn off the CB, if that is the issue. It is indeed a warranty issue as someone questioned before, but 240 mile round trip back and forth to the dealer is not a small deal, not to mention if they fix it right there and then. I don't mind riding the miles, it's the time involved, so I was just questioning if there was a quick fix to help out and people have mentioned a couple. Thanks for the info.
  19. ok I will try the battery thing first, however, I would imagine that the issue which caused it in the first place will happen again, but it would be nice to be able to just turn off the radio! I don't have a shop manual for it. Can anyone recommend one on line or ordering one? Thanks again
  20. Sorry if this has been discussed before, I have seen some threads that comment on this issue but they do not seem to be exactly the issue I have. I picked up my 2009 Venture on Saturday and drive it home (120 miles) and the radio worked fine. Today I went out and I turn the bike on and the radio comes on, same station I had it on when I turned it off, however the controller has no information displayed and none of the buttons work, therefore I can't turn it down, turn it off, change the station and worse yet can't turn down the volume. I really don't want to drive 120 miles back to find out I could have flipped a switch here or there or did a quick fix ... so if anyone can help me out I would appreciate it! Thanks and I am happy to be a new member. Keith
