  1. Cool. Just start her out on something small. My wife has a Honda 750 Shadow Spirit. Perfect size for her. Just do not let her get too big of a bike. I have seen a few women trying to ride bigger machines and they cannot handle them at low speeds or just plain move them by duck walking the bike. Just my .02
  2. I don't know hoow the Venture can be a best buy. I was at the motorcycle show in Novi and the Kawasaki Voyager is ALOT nicer of a bike and $2k less.
  3. Joe, would'nt be easier to just keep the tour deluxe?
  4. If I had time, I would see how accurate this is.
  5. All of my experiance with solar lights have been with patio and driveway markers. If you have some cloudy days or the lights do not get enough direct sunlight they will not last all night long. If you want them to stay on all night long, you may want to run the 110. If you just want them to come on with the motion detector and then go out after a few minutes, go with the solar.
  6. I am still on the "threesome" thing..............
  7. I got mine off of Ebay. Check there before going to a dealer. Print off the price then go to the dealer and see if they will match the price.
  8. I put HD Ultra Classic mufflers on mine for awhile. They had more flow because I took a 1" hole saw and drilled out the baffles. Now, I have Samson 29" turn outs.
  9. My wife and I are going on Saturday in the afternoon. 2pm or so.
  10. I have never used it. But my trailer I am kind of obsessive. When it's parked at a motel, I have a lock on the togue and run a cable through the wheels and frame so it can't be rolled away. I know someone that leaves theirs sitting unlocked with their stuff in it. To each their own. If you thinky you need to frame lock it, do it. Nothing wrong with it and that's what it is there for. It sure ain't going to hurt.
  11. The simplest thing was to do was buy a Bell Mag 8 helmet. That's what I have and the blue matches almost perfectly. BUT, Bell no longer make the Mag 8 AND they thought it was a good idea to discontinue the blue and the red helmets. If you can find one, buy it.
  12. I must say that the 2007 is by far the nicest color they have done.............
  13. I would not buy them. They have had sidewall cracking issues for quite a long time. Guys put them on and within a year they are cracked. Tires are too expensive and way too much work to deal with that. I am going to be puting on new rubber in March. I will be going with what I put on last time. Dunlop E3's. I got over 20k miles on this last set.
  14. One last comment from me then I am done with this subject. You all can do whatever you want on your scoots. What exactly is the purpose of lane splitting? To get someplace 5 minutes sooner? Because that's what it boils down to. Personally, I will not risk injury or life of myself or to others, nor risk damage to my bike, which I cherish, or damage to someone else's vehicle because I think that I am better than everyone else, which I am not, and split a lane to get someplace a little bit sooner. You know what? Wherever it is that your trying to get to in such a hurry, it ain't worth it. Just sit back and enjoy the ride, even if your stuck in traffic. Look at the video I posted. The guy trashed his bike doing this and possible hurt himself doing it. It does not make any sense to do this. It has nothing to do with what's legal. Marijuana is legal is some states, does not mean I am going to roll a fatty and get high just because it's legal. If you want to do it, do it. I hope you do not get hurt, but I will never split a lane to get someplace faster. I am no better than the cage in front of me. My opinion, my thoughts, my practices. Not necessarily anyone else's.
  15. When I change lanes, I am looking for cars IN THE OTHER LANE.......NOT SOME CLOWN RIDING THE LINE IN BETWEEN CARS!!!! I do not care how much traffic I am in, I will not even ride down the shoulder. Just because you are a bike, does not make you any better than the poeple in a car. Splitting lanes, cutting in front of other cars, that's what causes accidents. Traffic??? I ride my motorcycle on I-696 from Groesbeck all the way into Novi where it turns into I-96 then out to US-23 south....a total of 55 miles each way to work. It gets backed up for 10 miles. There were times I sat in traffic last summer in 100 degree heat for 2 hours. I know what it's like. Even then, I refuse to ride down the shoulder or split a lane. I just will never do it. If I am riding with a group and they do it....see you later. For the poeple that do it, do your spouse a favor and get a million dollar life insurance policy so when you get squished like a bug between cars, they can party like it's 1999. Just my .02, go ahead and flame me, whatever. I feel it's a stupid, irresponsible riding practice and I don't do it. PERIOD !! AND if someone ever does it to me and grazes the side of my....cage...they had better hope to whatever deity they pray to that I don't catch them because they will make a trip to the hospital!!
  16. This is why you do not do it. This is why it's unsafe. This is why you are tempting fate if you do. And this is why I think poeple that do this, legal or not are...........tools. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5Bci82yjyA]Motorcycle Crash - YouTube[/ame]
  17. He is a tool. ........just sayin'
  18. Just because it's legal does not mean it's a safe practice. Let's see how you feel when one of these clowns side swipes your car doing this. It's a stupid, unsafe, moronic, assinine thing to do on a bike..............but that's just my .02
  19. Take it easy Joe.Nice riding with you, hopefully see you this summer sometime. What did you do with the bike? Randy
  20. The person that wrote that article is a tool.
  21. Happy birthday larry!!!
  22. Don't bother making one. You can get a Ram Mount for about $35. Go to gpscity.com That's where I got mine. You may want to pick up an Aqua box too. Keeps it nice and dry when you get caught in the rain.
  23. It's an 07, the warranty is up. Unless there is a boat load of extras, I would try and get him down to $9,750.
  24. I made a guage pod and replaced my cassette. Designed in Cimatron, programmed in WorkNc and cut on a pos Sharnoa cnc. I thought about making and selling them but when you factor in the cost of material, time and anodizing, it's just not worth it. I would have had to sell them for about $175 each with no guages. I also made a tach housing. Both look sweet, but not worth my time to mass produce. Plus, I changed jobs and no longer have the access to the equiptment that I used to.
