  1. I will definitely check out both links! Who knows maybe i'll be contributing to your local economy soon!
  2. So I'm ready for a change in pace and location and I was wondering if anyone has heard of any job opportunities in their area. I've got experience in the automotive field and i have an auto tech degree, however i'm not too interested in being a mechanic. I'm the assistant team leader in my department at the factory i work at now, but i think it will be kind of neat seeing what you guys have around your areas for opportunities. I dont mind hard work and i've got that small town attitude!

    Sad day

Sorry to hear that Buddy! I think people can get more attached to their pets than other people even. Remember, Time heals all wounds
  4. Hey guys! I notice a noise coming from what i believe is the front curb-side cylinder that i believe sounds like a loose timing chain. I first noticed this noise putting the bike into the garage. It was late at night and i have to drive up a curb to get into the garage and, being the nice guy that I am, I didnt want to wind the bike up and wake up the neighbors. So i was essentially lugging the engine, but it wasnt the usual lugging noise, it almost sounded like something flapping around up front. I was wondering if anyone has heard anything like this? Any ideas would be appreciated! Thanks!!!
  5. I dont know how you bled your clutch, but if you use the old pump up method you can actually squeeze a bubble of air into a hundred little bubbles making it really difficult to bleed all the way. If all this other stuff doesnt work, just got out and put a vacuum to the bleed port for the clutch. Just make sure you dont pump up the clutch before hand. I just use a clear plastic hose and a little hand vacuum pump. Just dont do what I did and suck the system completely dry!!!
  6. Eventually i'll get a two tone brown 85 with all the bells and whistles like mine and completely restore it! Only with the necessary upgrades from venturerider.org!
  7. At least your catching it. With my hobbies i wouldnt notice mixups like that out of the usual
  8. It was the axle bolt but he overtightened it
  9. This was awhile ago, maybe it was no big deal. I'll look tomorrow before i go to work and try to figure out what the heck he tightened lol
  10. Looks like something i'll need to buy
  11. Thank you for the info. I think I'm going to do the valve adjustment myself. Which means i'll be doing research a-plenty. I want to replace my front wheel bearing because for whatever reason my dad thought it was loose and tightened it without a torque-spec. It squeaks now at slow speeds and I think I'm just going to buy all new bearings and spoil my girl. And honestly anything else you can think of will really help. I really want to make her sing!
  12. I think I'm going to go ahead and do the Butt Butler mod! Was referenced to me by a member and seems like a cheap and effective way to increase cruising range!
  13. I will definitely be getting ahold of you soon about a seat job sir!
  14. Located in Norfolk NE. You dont know if yours is th original is it?
  15. That is sick! Totally unique too thats gonna turn heads for a long time
  16. Does anyone have one of the newer style seats for sale for a Second Gen Venture? Mine has the more firm seat that says Royal Star on it, but i see that the newer stile Royal Stars have a softer more cushy seat. My bike is a 99 by the way.
  17. Ahh youre right! I replaced that last year too!
  18. Thats a blast to ride, its alot more fun without the harleys in my way
  19. Are these able to fit on a Royal Star Venture?
  20. Awesome! I was thinking about replacing the bearings anyways because of the age. I had the carbs synced last year and my mechanic told me that it was running great. So it sounds like at 30K its just basic stuff. Which is awesome! I need to get it on my pop's bike lift and just spend some time with her. Where would you suggest getting the bearings?
  21. Sorry guys its been a long time since i've renewed my subscription here. I've switched over to a 99 Royal Star Venture. I'll have to put some pics up shortly:whistling:
  22. I am having a hard time finding anything for my RSV. Where do you guys get your stuff out of, because i really need to dress my girl up
  23. I threw the cheapest tire i could find on it, and i can barely hit 6k miles per tire myself. Although i do ride with a pretty quick crowd:stickinouttounge:
  24. Hey there guys! I have a 99 Royal Star Venture with 29000 miles on it. When i bought it last year with 20k miles I replaced clutch fluid, brake fluid, spark plugs fuel filter and engine coolant. Now I'm wondering since I've hit 30K and the bike is so old what are some things i can do for this milestone. Are there any chassis bearings i need to grease? What about specs and tolerances that i may be able to check. Any info would be great! I guess what I'd like to do is get a maintenance checklist put together of everything i can grease or adjust or fiddle with. Thanks guys!
