  1. Well, since the battery was only reading 9.5 volts I knew I needed a new battery anyway. So I bought one and installed it. Viola, I'm back on the road. Still cant believe NOTHING worked with a low battery. A special thanks to Eck for the call and the tutorial and link on the switch bypass. I'll be doing that by weeks end. Thanks to all!
  2. I'm not sure what your telling me. Can you give me a little more detail please? I'm starting to think it may be the battery. I just thought it should at least power the lights or speedo or something, even if it wont crank the bike.
  3. Been there:whistling: One of the first things I checked. Thanks!
  4. I finally found the main fuse. Its OK. All fuses are good. Battery read 9.5 volts. As I said before, the bike was running fine when I parked it. Been sitting about a month. No power at all.
  5. Please tell me where the main fuse is. I cant seem to locate it.
  6. Went to take the bike out Saturday and had no power at all. I thought since the bike had been sitting for a few weeks the battery was dead. So I pushed it back in the garage and hooked up the battery charger. Checked this morning and the charger indicates the battery is full so I turned on the key and......................nothing. No lights, speedo, horn, fuel pump, NOTHING! It was running fine when I parked it. What do you think? Fuse? Which one? Or something else? TIA.
  7. 2 at this time. I've owned as many as 5 at one time back in my racing days.
  8. Someone who knows better than I will confirm, but I'm almost certain it will not work with the center stand.
  9. You will need an adapter as well. Click on the the link http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=62517
  10. $1 a month is a real bargan. I've been here 3 years and the $36 in yearly dues has saved me hundreds. Go ahead and do it.
  11. You could go up 129 and come back on 28 through Franklin. Hit 64 then 75 to 80. Darn good riding right there.
  12. I have yet to attend the vogel meet but unless you want to go to Gattlinburg or ride the Cherohala, it should have no effect at all.
  13. I rarely travel that section of 441 due to the traffic. That is a favorite route from North Ga to Gatlinburg for many and often slows to a crawl. The closure will surely clog other routes. I do frequent the Cherohala. That is gona cramp my style.
  14. Yea, I've been there a couple of times. Once to lay my nephew to rest, then again to spread his dads ashes. It is a beautiful place and what a ceremony they give.
  15. I haven't payed for my license since 1969. It's one of the perks for being a military vet in Ga.
  16. I'm thinking you should get out of the house before she gets home.

  19. Seems to happen to me whenever I climb a set of stairs. I won't remember why I went up untill I go back down.
  20. A friends daughter in law's water broke at about the same time fram as your daughters. She carried it for over a month before the baby was born healthy. Hope yours has a happy ending also. We'll say a little prayer just in case.
  21. And just WHO is fact checking Snopes?

  23. I'm shocked! From the first time I met Mark I felt as if I had known him for years. I'm really glad we made it to Asheville this year. Prayers out to Mary and the rest of his family.
  24. We really enjoyed the short time we got to spend with you and Jane (Hoo). Looking forward to the next time. Shirley says Hi!
  25. Shirley didn't make it across the bridge dispite mine and Katrinas support. She made it about 5 more steps after this pic and had to turn around. Can you tell she was a little nervous?
